I lecture on photography to professional photography groups. The knowledge of to handle each and every situation that may arise is mandatory. I am a graduate of the Rochester Inst. of Technolog 4 year program in Graphic Arts and photography. A distinction sheared by an extremely small percentage of professional photographers.

How many photographers do you work with?
there are always two photographers so that different views; lenses and styles are offered from the same event
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes , in writing. This is a policy from which I never stray. Not once !! If I am booked I am there. Without fail.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Never in a day never more than 2 per weekend ( Fridays included)
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Several highly qualified, experienced, professional photographers are available in the remote chance of an emergency happening. The policy is that we back each other up in case of accident or sickness. It is the professional's CODE!
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
3 Professional Canon digital SLRs. lenses capable of low light coverage, extreme wide angle an telephoto views. Multiple electronic flashes and wireless triggers and receivers.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Always; We are "good Boy Scouts" and are always prepared. You never know what may occur at an assignment!
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Full day 98% of the time
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
This rarely comes up. $175 per hour for photographer and assistant is standard
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
A break between formals and the reception is needed to photograph the set and setting of the reception and cocktail areas. Close ups of details etc. Setting up auxiliary lighting so that the images look like the actual lighting of the event. A meal provided by the clients is customary.

not up to 40 miles
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
we take the time to carefully edit our images so that out customers do not have to. We also believe that an unflattering image mereley 'Waters Down" the quality of the assignment. 3 weeks is average.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
A web site is included in all assignments paper prints if desired
How long can the client keep the proofs?
they belong to the client,
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
shared copy rights are available,
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Will images be available for viewing online?
What kind of albums do you offer?
State of the art digital design albums, tweaked by the client through a PDF . Nothing is printed and bound without final approval.
When will the client get the final album?
Once the book design has been approved . app. 4 weeks. Quality control concerns are most important. Accuracy is always better than speed. WE are the final stage of quality control . Not he clients.
