WOW, this place is great! What a find... We were driving to the outlet mall and came across this place. They have such a friendly staff that made things easy to find (with their huge selection). I am very happy with my selection and will highly recommend this shop.

I would highly warn anyone who is looking to shop at Paris House of Bridal in Michigan City. I have never delt with such unprofessionalism anywhere.....ever. I have never been so disappointed. I am a very easy-going laid back person and I rarely have anything negative to say about anyone. But, I am writing this in hopes it saves anyone the stress and tears I had to deal with when I worked with them for my wedding. (And I am not someone who easily gets upset or cries). I purchased my wedding dress, six bridesmaids dresses, and a Mother-of-the-groom dress. They have you sign a no-return, no-exchange, "all sales are final" form when you place an order with them. All of my bridesmaid dresses took almost 9 months to get in (they said they were coming from China). When they finally came in, they were all wrong, not what I ordered at all. We had no choice as we had to pay for all of them when they were ordered, and they would not let us return them eventhough it was their fault. Wrong style, wrong color....... And they never finished altering the Mother-of-the-groom dress. We called and called, and the day before my wedding they said it was not ready and that they had to ship it to Chicago. They never called back. My Mother in law had to purchase a new dress at the mall the day before the wedding. Mind you, she had to pay Paris House of Bridal for the dress up-front plus the alterations. So, basically she is out around $750, and still today, two weeks after the wedding, no dress. We will be pursing this and all of the other issues we had with them. We cannot figure out how they are still in business. So, just a warning to all the brides, trust me, do not give your business to this place. You'll save time, money, stress, and disappointment........there are plenty of other places that will be happy to work with you for your big day.

Paris House of Bridal was very unprofessional. I picked out my dress at a one day bridal sale event that nearly a dozen vendors participated in. It was beautiful and a great price, but needed some alterations to be my dream dress. Paris House of Bridal offered to alter it and then ship it to me. I paid for the dress and alterations in full, and was told it should be ready and shipped to me within a month. Only after 3 months and multiple phone calls from me in which I was told "I don't know what the delay is", "I think it was shipped but I'm not sure", "It will be ready for you in a week", "oh, it will be ready for you in another week", etc.. was I able to make an appointment just to see the dress. I had to drive three and a half hours to view it, and it was not even done being altered. After another trip a week later, I was finally able to pick up my completed dress. They were courteous enough to drop the shipping fee, but I still felt cheated because of all the trouble I had to go to in order to get my dress. If they had told me from the beginning that my dress would take three months, or at least had the decency to call me to let me know it wouldn't be ready when they promised, I would have been a bit more patient. Instead, I constantly felt that they were being dishonest with me. When I finally got the dress home and was getting fitted into it with my bridesmaid and her mother who sew, they both noticed all the flaws the seamstress made. Seams were crooked, the dip in the sweetheart neckline was off center, and more. Be very cautious if you are thinking of buying from Paris House of Bridal and Fashion, and know that you probably won't get your dress when promised.

Beware!!!!!!!

If I would have done my research and read the reviews I would have never shopped here! The main reason I went there is because it has a very large assortment of dresses, well now that I think about it it's probably from all the dresses that get returned! First off the customer service is a nightmare.
I ordered 7 black dresses each dress was suppose to have a different color sash. The dresses came in two weeks before the wedding in 7 rainbow colors! None of them where the correct size and the company blamed me! The owner is the most unprofessional woman I've ever met. She tried to "help" and got 7 black dresses in a week before wedding none of the sash colors i wanted, and none the right size dresses there was nothing left I could do my wedding was in a few days and she new I had to take the dresses and to top it off made me pay $100 to pay to get the new wrong dresses shipped!!! I am contacting the BBB and newspapers! The only way anyone is giving this place good reviews is because the people working for her are most likely writing them!! This dress store is a disgrace!!

Check out the Better Business Bureau's ranking (F!)- this store has had several complaints and I can see why! Had one of the worst experiences of my life dealing with this shop. The contract they gave us stated that the bridesmaids dresses we ordered would be ready in 4-6 months, but they didn't get them done until 12 hours before the wedding and almost 9 1/2 months later!!!! Their excuse was that the dress had been discontinued and they were doing us a favor by completing our order. SOME FAVOR, IF YOU CAN'T FULFILL THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT, DON'T ACCEPT THE ORDER IN THE FIRST PLACE! As if she didn't have enough to worry about, the bride ended up spending her entire night before the wedding waiting at the store for seven hours while they finished sewing the beading (which they rushed in from Chicago at last minute). Since the bridesmaids were from out of town, we begged them to give us our dresses three weeks before the wedding so that we could get a second fitting locally. However, they refused to release the dresses (even though they were already paid for!!!!) and told us that if we took them out of the store, we would have no recourse if they weren't satisfactory. Seeing how the beading wasn't even completed, we literally had no option but to take off work and drive five hours to get a second fitting so that they could complete the beading on the bottom (which easily could have been done after the first fitting).

The absolute worst part was that when the bride got upset about them putting the wrong applique on the dress, the lady we were working with reprimanded the bride in front of the entire bridal party, scolding her and saying, "You know, politeness will motivate me to get this done faster!" Talk about customer service. The only person in the whole store who was sympathetic was Mrs. P., the seamstress. Terrible customer service and terrible experience!

Do NOT not not not go to Renee's Bridals (also known as Paris Bridals. Supposedly they changed their name, but all the business cards say something different than the front of the store). It was an awful experience. It seemed ok at first. They do have a lot of variety and they are friendly, UNTIL you order something. It's like once they have your money, they don't care! I bought a veil and tiara, paid in full and was able to take the tiara home thankfully, but had to wait for the veil. It came in right at the end of the 8 weeks they said it could take, which is fine. We also put deposits down on two flower girl dresses the same day I bought the tiara. My aunts called within two weeks and paid more on the dresses so that they could be ordered. This was the beginning of January. March comes along and I go to pick up my veil and ask if there is any news on the flower girl dresses and they said they would have to get back to me, after they look up the order (said they could tell me when they'll be here in a week). I didn't get a chance to call back in a week, but it wouldn't have done any good. It's the end of April and all the dresses have come in from other places (bridesmaids, wedding dress, even mother of the bride's dress that was ordered in March) but nothing on the flower girl dresses. They are a huge hassle to get ahold of. You call their phone, and it just rings. If someone does answer, they're busy and will call you back when they get the information (except they don't). You leave a message, and nobody calls you back. Finally someone tells us that they will be here before the wedding. Not very reassuring. The wedding was on May 24th, and the dresses didn't come in until the week right before the wedding! They were the wrong color, and obviously poorly made (not their fault, I know). When we tried to discuss our dissatisfaction, one of the women who worked there would not listen, kept interrupting, and flat out called my mother a liar, though I absolutely knew she wasn't a liar since I was the one who spoke to them on the phone about what she was denying. Finally a woman named Anna came out to help us and she was much more helpful and calm and reasonable and actually tried to help us fix our problems, instead of trying to tell us there isn't anything they can do. Finally, the dresses were repaired the DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING. It was terrible. I understand it isn't their fault about the dress not being what we ordered since they themselves don't make the dresses, but they are also running a business and needed to make sure their customers are happy, as well as behave in a professional manner. I'm not sure why that lady is still working there!

I saw a dress I wanted in a magazine and went to this store because my friend had told me about how wonderful it is, and she was right. They didnt have the dress but they were able to order it for me at a much better price then the compettitor. I tried the dress on at a different store and loved it, I noticed how gross the stores are, and how dirty the dresses are. Here they led me into my own room, red carpet, no joke, it really has red carpet the whole store, the dresses are clean I didnt feel like i was trying on someones elses dirty sweat, The store was gorgeous, and the best thing the prices were so reasonable, The did my entire bridal party and I and my girls were so happy cuz it came in way under budget!!!!! LOVE THEM I WILL GO BACK FOR EVERYTHING, I didn't mention they sell like other dresses too.

In July 2005 I walked into Renee’s Bridal with hopes of getting a bridal gown. My mother and I were greeted by Renee, she asked what dress I was looking for. I was looking for a ball gown something elegant but nothing to fancy. My mother quickly added that a price would be the idea. Meaning anything under $500 dollars. So Renee told us to look at a few isle’s and we did so. I found four dresses and I was able to try them on that day. I was so excited because the first dress I tried on was the dress I wore on my wedding day. Little did I know it would turn out to be a wedding disaster and nightmare. After trying on the dress Renee would like at least some down on the gown. My mother post-dated a check which in return canceled the check a few days later and paid on the gown. Renee quickly added that day in July that soon as the dress is paid for and the alterations I can start my fittings. I currently was having a wedding date in Oct. 2005 but as the days got closer and bills kept coming, the date quickly changed to April of 2006. I called Renee’s about the middle of August and let them know that the date was changing. From my knowledge they didn’t have a problem with that. Then I called the third time and let them know about a wedding date change. I told them that the wedding will be August 12th 2006. They sighed and said okay. Months went by and the seasons changed. May came and I called and asked when my dress fittings will be. A lady on the phone said that I have to pay the alterations then I can come in. I did understand that but then too I didn’t . I haven’t seen my dress in almost a year, and I lost weight I know for sure. But I just wanted to come in there to see if I needed anything done. I waited in till the end of June early July and finally after being on hold and not getting anyone on the phone. The lady on the phone scheduled me for July 14th 2006 to come in for the “try on the dress”. I tried on the dress with my bra that was going to wear at the wedding under my gown. The dress still did need some work. The chest area needed to be let out, the length done and the back of the dress where my mid section is need to be led out some. At this time I had no worries thought this was the way they did it. My mom paid the lady ($188.00 for the alterations) and we scheduled another fitting which by this time I believed that they would have led out the dress, got the length and everything will be perfect. The lady said that it’s still a little tight on the lower back (mid section) She said she will led out some more and it will be good to go. August 9th 2006 I went in for my five o’clock appointment. The dress fit good and everything looked great, I was excited that I looked so pretty! After I got dress and ready Renee said your all set come and pick up your gown tomorrow about ten o’clock as well as your shoes (they were slippers that I order from there catalog) .
Friday came and I was getting my nails done , so my mom went and picked up my dress. No one said a word to my mom just smiled and carried on. The day of my wedding day August 12th 2006 at two o‘clock pm. Got dress got ready I’m glowing with happiness. At the ceremony everything went smoothly, greeting the guest at the end with my bouquet on my right side. Took several pictures then everyone stopped and stared. Everyone’s mouths were on the ground. I was like what? What’s wrong? My husband said I notice a small seam come undone in the middle of the ceremony but I didn’t say anything. The maid of honor said this isn’t a little one anymore, don’t worry don’t get upset just look. I looked there in front of my eyes and on my wedding day is my gown falling apart. The small seam is now a two inch gapping hole in my dress. Everyone notice on the left side is doing the same thing. My dress is falling apart every step I take or even try to sit down it’s ripping it’s coming undone. Quickly my maid of honor and other bridal party attends called up Renee’s and were put on hold. Then someone answer the phone, not even two blocks or less from the place no one wanted to come down to the Barker Mansion to fix my dress. I couldn’t believe it! I had to go to the shop my self. My dress is still coming undone and I’m trying to keep my cool. I get to the shop and my photographer is taking some pictures of the dress and the place where I got my dress from. He and a few my bridal party attendants came with me. Renee quickly told the photographer to get out of the shop, no pictures are allowed in here. I sat for a half an hour in a chair, on my wedding day while my dress is being stitched up.
I hear some commotion in the front of the shop come to fined out a few ladies that were in there trying on dresses over heard my husband telling there guy that my wife’s dress is damaged and it’s falling apart. They quickly got there deposits back and left the store. Finally after thirty minutes, someone came in and showed me my dress. Put it on with my mother, and sister in the room and it still was coming apart. Had to take it off a second time. Renee came in there and said to my face If you had come in here like you were suppose to on Friday this would have never had happened. No one told me to come in there Friday before nor did I know I was suppose to. Finally my dress is ready, or so I think. They put my dress on and said that it’s my bra that’s making everything go wrong. I tried on my dress several times with my bra on and they didn’t say a word in till the day of my wedding? Doesn’t make any sense, so they made me try on a girdle which was too tight, so they let me try on another, it fit okay but I wasn’t about to wear it. But, they insisted that I wear it because it’s a lot better with the dress. They said it’s usually about $50 dollars for it but, since this happened that it’s free.
I just went with it because I paid my photographer $650 to take photos of my wedding and I’m in a bridal shop for an hour, getting my dress done. So he got away with an hour of not doing a thing. They got my dress together , and said that this never has happened to them before and all brides must be careful. So brides shouldn’t sit, walk around nor enjoy there wedding day? They are suppose to be statues? I couldn’t believe when they said that. Further more they stated that I should bring my dress in for them to preserve it and it’s usually hundred dollars but they will do it for free. I didn’t say a word I just walked out upset and angry. It’s now five o’clock in the evening and the reception is starting I look at my gown and everything is okay. I sit down and do a little bit of walking come to fined out my dress is ripping again. I can’t believe it! Were they had the seams before it’s ripping there and coming undone. I just kept my cool and carried on.
By the end of the night my family was in disbelief that my dress is ruined. I have my dress laying on my bed with rips and tears inside and out, it looks like someone didn’t even both to take good care of it. Mostly looks like a cat just had a field day with it. The seamstress didn’t even bother going over the dress to look for anything else she just fixed up what she wanted too. My dress is ruined and I feel like I was taken for granted. To top it all off my maid of honors dress was suppose to have a detail beaded flower on it but, they for got to put it on the dress. My other brides maid her dress didn’t have the dress straps on it. She had to keep pulling the dress up during the ceremony and at the reception other wise her chest would be hanging out. Both dresses were to long and were unraveling at that bottom then on the sides where the seams are.
My sister did some research on Renee’s Bridal and come to fine out that many brides have thousands of complaints on this dress shop. Take these brides for example: One bride had five different colored brides maid dresses and Renee’s told her there isn’t nothing they could do about it. Second bride her dress was falling apart too. And yet another bride her dress wasn’t right at all between the phone tag and the appointments being messed up she went threw hell and back just like everyone else that goes there. I don’t know how one place can be in business because of what they have been doing.
Come to fine out yet again that all bridal gowns must be fitted with three tags: Inspection tag, size tag and a warranty tag. My dress as neither tags I got a dress number which is the number of dress that were made. I learned from doing research and looking at old news center sixteen films that Renee’s has been in trouble before and a hidden camera showed everything. I believe from what I researched that Renee’s tells brides about how they are going to size the dress and order the dress as well. Little does the brides to be know that they take the dress off the rack (demo dress) clean it and size it up for the bride and say that this a new dress that just came in. In reality it’s not, it’s the dress that they tried on months ago and were lied too. I got a dry cleaning tag that’s all I have. My dress and my wedding day is forever edge in my mind as a nightmare. I lost out on pictures and a wedding gown. I hope you this helps all you future brides!
