Amadeus Manor is a turn of the century estate built in the hills above Milwaukie. It overlooks the Willamette River all the way down to the Portland skyline. If that sounds stunning, it's because it is. The mansion itself is three stories of stone and plaster filled with chandeliers, Persian rugs, roaring fireplaces, and always, always fresh flowers on every table.

There is no venue as prolific and charming in the entire Portland area. Get married in the Alps while still close to home.

We also provide the most straightforward and affordable wedding package found anywhere: one price, no fine print. Come in for a tour and tasting and find out why Amadeus Manor is Portland's best kept secret. Read less

We loved working with the team at Amadeus! Everything was exactly as I wanted it. Both Jason and Christina were very easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions we had. I look forward to using their facility again for other events. I highly recommend Amadeus to anyone who wants to have a classy wedding with guests raving about the food for months after.

I found this venue while searching for Portland area facilities where we could hold a reception and ceremony at the same location. I wanted privacy and class...after visiting several other establishments, I fell in love with Amadeus Manor as soon as we pulled into the driveway. We met with Kristina, the owner and manager of the Manor. She took us on a tour and then treated us to dinner! The food was fabulous, she was so friendly, helpful, and accommodating...and the ambiance...omg...it was magical. Loved the view from the picture window overlooking the river and there is so much character to the whole place. Her staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

On our wedding day, everything was perfect. We pretty much had the whole restaurant to ourselves because we had an early ceremony (4:30pm) and then a wonderful cocktail hour and fabulous dinner. Though the dishes didn't come with what we were told, it was still delicious and there was a lot of food for our small wedding party of 14. The best part was that we weren't rushed...there was no three hour time limit...it was like we were transported to Europe where we could eat and talk at leisure...and the food and wine flowed freely...

And you cannot beat the value...the food, the ceremony site, the service, and the decor...it was just fabulous and such a great value. This is such a hidden gem...but if you are looking for a unique place with tons of character, this is someplace to check out.

This was one of the most beautiful and romantic settings for a wedding that we could imagine. It was also one of the most affordable (believe me, it is hard to find anything other than hotel banquet rooms that are affordable in the Portland area). Christine and Jason were very willing to work with us to include the elements we wanted in our ceremony and celebration. I highly recommend Amadeus Manor.

I had specifically decided not to review this place to be nice to the business. But since they asked me to via email I suppose I will.

Seems Jason, the guy who emailed me, didn’t remember that he was the person responsible for screwing up my wedding reception. He double booked the day with another wedding (we had made our plans first) and quit after meeting with us to go over details to try to make it work. We could hear him and his boss yelling at each other in the background during that meeting because he screwed up so bad. (I think it was actually TRIPLE booked because there was a baby shower or something right before us that was shooed out as we came in). We ended up dancing on a rickety porch (because the basement would be too close to the other wedding that was setting up) and our sound system (that he was supposed to move up from the basement) ended up being crappy computer speakers that were SO BAD that we had to have one of our friends hold the wire in place so that sound would actually come out. Not surprisingly, no one danced. I could have had my brother bring a nice sound system but Jason told me he would take care of it (but of course he quit, taking care of nothing). We were asked to exit out of the side/back of the building (all of our guests and us having to walk past all their dumpsters) because the other group was setting up. He said the dumpsters would be moved-they were not. Then we got a bunch of glares from the next group as we left. Plus the staff was shooing us out of the main room during speeches so that the next wedding could set up (and they did set up in the background while the speeches were going on). Then instead of offering us a discount the boss invites my family to eat there later---on the house. When we come our orders are screwed up, AND worst of all, I see that Jason is working there again. I couldn't believe it.

At least the food was decent and the building was pretty.

The only good things I have to say about this venue is the ceremony and the food was great. If you are just having dinner its a great place to go or if you want to have your ceremony outside with a wonderful view than you are in the right spot. The lady is harder in than heck to get ahold of and she is pushy. She build my hopes up thinking that we were gonna have the whole venue all day and for what we paid for we should have but she started pushing us out at like 5pm with we had our ceremony at 2:30pm. I am super upset and think that she should give us part of our money back. I really feel ripped off. The worst part is that we paid for 75 people and than only like 45 showed up and she would not refund us or let us keep the extra food.

Amadeus Manor responded with the following comments:

Before I go into responding to this I would just like to say that it is very difficult to handle a review like this... on the one hand you don't want to hurt any body's feelings.  We also don't want to have horrible reviews sitting like a plastic dog turd on our lawn; we know it isn't the real thing, but no one else does.

Thank you for so much, Crystal, for your kind words concerning our food
and our beautiful view. We take great pride in both and feel there is no comparison
anywhere else.
Clearly your concerns outweighed the things you were delighted with and hence this review.
I'm just going to address your comments item by item.
1. Christiane (the lady) has been at work Tuesday through Saturday from 4:30pm until late at night  for the last 24 years. If you're looking to get a hold of her I guarantee you she will be there at the restaurant between these hours every day every week every year. She's not hard to get a hold of.
2. One thing that is different at the Amadeus; in contrast to most other wedding venues we do not have time limits. You are welcome to show up as early as you like, get ready, and then finally, leaving when you're ready. It Is not unheard of to have a bride arrive at  9 o'clock in the morning to be married at 2:30pm and end up staying until 2:30 in the morning. It happens all the time
.3. "For what you paid..." Had you called 72 hours ahead and let us know that 30 guests of the 75 you invited were not coming we would have adjusted the amount of food we made and also adjusted your price. We cooked for 85, staffed for 75 and bought liquor, beer, and wine for a party of at least 75.

While we are very sorry you did not have the experience you were seeking but we feel in no way responsible for the outcome. You have complained about the price when we both know you got everything for a very fair price; Well below our standard prices. We feel you did not plan your invitations well and ended up with far fewer guests than expected.
