I got my dress here on March 12, 2016. My appointment was with Teresa. She was amazing. The entire experience was beyond words and I was left in awe of her experience. She nailed it. The first dress I tried on I had all the feels. After trying on a couple more I had to get back into it. I would highly recommend this salon.

I first learned about Amanda Lina's at a Bridal Show. My sister ended up picking a dress that we both absolutely LOVED. I wasn't prepared to purchase the dress at the trunk show, because I wanted my mom to be a part of the experience - I also thought I'd be able to get the gown virtually anywhere that carried that designer. As it turns out, the only salon in Ontario that carried that particular dress was Amanda Lina's, so I went ahead and made the appointment. Firstly, the salon is absolutely gorgeous. When we got into the store, we had to wait a few minutes until we could check in, but not a big deal. The girl who registered me actually recognized my sister and I from the bridal show. While we waited for our consultant, we were able to look at bridesmaids dresses, and my sister was able to try one on. I feel terrible for not remembering her name, but she was so incredible and helpful! Theresa was my consultant. She sat me down to discuss what I was looking for, and I showed her some pictures. She pulled all of the dresses that I wanted to try, and was absolutely amazing throughout the process. I found out that the original dress that I came to try on again was from 2013 and there were having a lot of difficulty finding it - they had 2 or 3 different people looking for it in storage. I started to put it out of my mind, and when I came out in one of the last dresses, one of the associates was holding the dress! The girl who works at the front desk was looking for it in storage (which apparently contains 700+ dresses in boxes), a box fell and uncovered the dress! I put it on, zipped right up like it was made for me. Theresa put the veil on and it was a done deal. It was totally meant to be! The total experience was one that will be cherished - it was everything I could have hoped for and more! Can't recommend this place enough if you want the whole experience vs. just picking a dress.

I had a fantastic experience at Amanda Lina's. I was a nervous bride going with her sister and mother to find a dress and hopefully have a pleasant experience. Demetra was my consultant, from the very beginning she made me feel comfortable and at ease. She tried connecting with me by finding out more information about my fiancé, our overall wedding style, our venue, what designers I like, styles I like and don't like, she literally covered all bases with me before we even started pulling dresses. Furthermore I have watched more than my fair share of "Say Yes To The Dress" both American and Canadian episodes and a re-occurring theme is that a huge no-no in dress shopping is having your entourage and you yourself picking dresses. Demetra gave us free rain to check out their inventory to see what we were attracted towards and then she put me in something she thought would look good on me. I went into Amanda Lina's and all I thought I knew was that I hated ball gowns and wanted a mermaid or trumpet style (that's usually the style I wear in regular gowns) Wedding dresses fit soo much differently, the style I thought I didn't want I ended up buying and absolutely loving! Demetra asked me after trying on multiple mermaid styles if I could try on 1 drop waist ball gown and after doing so that's all I wanted to put on. She picked me the absolute perfect gown, and on my second fitting found me a veil nicer than I could have imagined purchasing. I actually remember thanking Demetra half way through our appointment for being so pleasant and making me feel so comfortable. I had my bridal moment tears and all, and when I cried and rang that bell I hugged Demetra as well, it was because of her my experience was as great as it was. Thank you Demetra and all the staff at Amanda Lina's I have already recommended you guys to other brides I know.

Consultant was apathetic, bored and just plain unethical. I tried on a sample wedding gown that I loved but was told it was on sale because the style is discontinued and can no longer be ordered. The sample was a size 12 and I figured I had to be a much smaller size (size 2 - I confirmed this later by having my measurements taken at two other another stores and seeing them compare it to the designer's sizing chart). Knowing that the amount of alterations would be drastic and the cost of this being substantial, I was obviously hesitant. The consultant continued to pressure me telling me not to worry about alterations, and insisted that I should just get it now because the gown would be taken away later that day to the the National Bridal Show. She then inquired where I had other appointments and after I told her the store, she then started to bash and bad mouth it for ripping off designs and scamming people. Whether this is true or not, it is very unprofessional and awkward. In the end, I was not comfortable doing any business with them so I left.

As soon as I got home, I called 4 other stores that carried this designer and asked if the dress could be ordered. Even though they did not have the sample, NONE of them even hesitated that it could be discontinued. All of them quickly gave me the price and stated that since it was on the designer's website it should be available to order. The next day I called back to Amandalinas and sure enough, the girl on the phone did some clicking on the computer and confirmed I could order it. This is highly unethical for a consultant to do - to pressure me into an implusive purchase making me think I had no other choice. Even if the consultant truly thought it was discontinued (due to a mistake - which is still her fault), a sensible person would still take the extra time and double check after seeing her client is very serious about the dress.

I was picked for the show 'Say Yes to the Dress: Canada', I had a GREAT shopping experience and my consultant was amazing. My dress came in 8 weeks late, no one bothered to call. I placed multiple calls and a couple of emails before I got a response that my dress was late (I had actually began to worry something happened and the store had closed since no one was returning my calls).

Alterations were easy, and beautiful. The seamstress was friendly and helpful. I ordered my veil March 3 and was told it would be in when I picked my dress up May 5.

After driving over an hour to get my dress and veil, I arrived at the store to find out my veil was not there and they had no idea when it would be. With my wedding in just 2 weeks I was concerned and asked why no one had told me this and whether it could be couriered to my house. I was told there was nothing they could do and I'd have to have to setup my own courier at my own cost. The person teaching my mom how to tie the dress was rude, we didn't have great instructions and they seemed annoyed with me when I asked about my veil.

My stepdad arranged to have the veil picked up when it arrived the week after (as I did not have another 2.5 hours to drive back and forth). When it got to me, it was not the colour I'd ordered. Given that the veil took over 2 months to arrive, I just had to suck it up and use the wrong coloured veil.

Overall, I was not impressed. The dress and veil were BEAUTIFUL but the customer service was terrible.

First off, I know taking pics isn't isn't allowed and after the first warning my bridesmaids stopped. My 16 year old sister later secretly snapped a pic of the dress I was already going to buy and when the consultant saw her she fully went on to YELL at her and embarrass her in front of the whole store. Yes my sister was wrong but she's young and yelling at her was extremely unprofessional.

Anyway, I had done my research before coming to my appointment and had a few dresses in mind that I wanted to try on which I knew they carried. In the end it came down to two dresses and she pushed me to make a decision and quickly took one dress and put it away. By the end of the appointment I decided I wanted to try it again and she rolled her eyes and said " I thought we ruled that one out, you like this better", pointing to the other dress (obviously the more expensive one). She finally brought the other dress back and went on to say that it was last season so would likely be discontinued soon and since my wedding is in 10 months I'm already behind on ordering because it could take 8 months to get the dress and 3 months to alter it. I left with anxiety and called another Maggie Sottero seller who told me that 1. Their dresses are delivered within 4-6 months and 2. The dress I like would definitely not be discontinued because it was one of the designer's top sellers and a "priority" dress which means it could arrive as quickly as 8-10 WEEKS. My mom, mother in law and bridesmaids all got the same sense from our consultant and felt that she truly ruined my first dress shopping experience. I went to Becker's a week later and it was night and day! I had the best time with the fun and bubbly consultant, and ended up buying the dress I liked at Amanda Lina's at a 20% lower price.

Given my wedding was outside of the GTA, I had no choice but to take it to a local vendor in the area once I noticed the problems with the dress. For a dress shop "harbouring over 40 years of experience" I would have expected the alterations to be handled with more care and detail. Hoping we can find a solve as I am certainly not a satisfied customer. I think 10% of the alterations cost would be fair since I had to pay that to an outside party to make repairs. They spent three hours fixing holes, steaming the dress and cleaning a black spot.

I had an interesting experience when it came to dress shopping. I absolutely fell in love with a dress, but started to have regrets in the days that followed the purchase. A week or so passed and I couldn't bare it anymore so I called up the owner at Amanda-Lina's and asked if I could apply my deposit to another dress. She told me that it wouldn't be an issue and so that week I went it and began the new search. I worked with Christina both times, and she was amazing. She knew her stock very well, but whats more is she knew exactly what I was looking for even thought I didn't. She put me in a dress that I would have never picked out and I am so glad that she did because it quickly became the dress of my dreams.

Then there is Maria. She is the reason I went to Amanda-Lina's. Her reputation as a dress maker is glowing. I knew I wanted to buy my dress there so that Maria could work on the alterations. She had worked on a dress for my mother in the past and the results were amazing. When I picked up my dress is was too small for me, but Maria worked her magic and the dress ended up fitting as if it was a custom made gown made just for me.

I continually recommend Amanda-Lina's to all brides I know, and will continue to do so in the future.

I had such a FANTASTIC experience when I said YES to the dress this past April. After having going to White Toronto and Klienfeld Hudson's Bay where I had horrible experience's at both, Amanda-Lina's blew me away with their service, professionalism and how accommodating they were when I booked my appointment the day before!! My bridal consultant Christina was absolutely amazing! When I told her what i was looking for, she knew exactly what dresses to pull for me, and let me tell you their dresses are so stunning!!! She made me feel so special when I knew I had on the dress of my dreams. She dolled me up with a vail, a gorgeous headpiece and asked me if I was saying yes to the dress, and once I did I rang a bell and the whole store started clapping. It was such a great and fun experience, I highly recommend Amanda-Lina's! If you can't find a dress here, you won't find it anywhere! Their stock is huge!!
