I loved working with Ruth! She was very attentive to my needs and the time frame, and even had it ready a few days earlier than promised.

I purchased a dress from Amanda's Bridal Boutique for my first wedding and was delighted with the dress and also the alterations. I have since been divorced, and am now engaged to be married. I purchased my new dress back home with family in Boston, but asked Amanda's if they would be able to do alterations. They agreed, and I was grateful since I knew that no salon is required to do alterations on a dress that is purchased from an external source. I was very polite, kind and courteous and made sure that they would have the time and had me scheduled for our actual fitting appointment. I observed them write it in their book and was given it on a card as well.

At the time of that initial visit, my friend was concerned because the service seemed to be lacking. They were late to meet with us (about 30 minutes), did not help me into my dress, brushed off my questions, and tried to dismiss me quickly. I assured my friend that it must just be a bad day or perhaps they were just worried since I was bringing in a dress that I had brought elsewhere.

Unfortunately, when I came in for my next appointment (in June, which is busy wedding season and also just 1.5 months before my wedding) the store was closed and a note was taped to the door which said: "open @ 12 on June 14." My apt was at noon and no one was there. The store was not open at all, nor was it open at the "late" time it advertised to be opening that day. I waited 25 minutes, outside, with my dress, and no one showed up. I called and left a message and then left. No one has called me back.

I am disappointed that the service has dropped so much since I was in last in 2006. I love to frequent good, local businesses and I don't know why they would choose to not be friendly, professional and courteous. This establishment has gone down hill.

I had the most wonderful experience with Amanda's Bridal Boutique. The price and quality were unmatched. The seamstress is impeccable and dependable. I appreciated the balance of professionalism and personal interest from the owner. She was responsive to my needs and sympathetic to my concerns. She always returned phone calls and emails in a timely fashion and remembered my name every time. I could not have asked for more!

I had a wonderful experience with Ruth and her boutique! I found a beautiful dress that fit my style perfectly and it was very affordable. She was professional, very kind and always answered the phone personally when I called. I even ended up needing a lace jacket made just 2 weeks before the wedding and her seamstress made a flawless replica of the picture I provided with hand dyed buttons and scalloped edges. Just perfect! I went to many bridal shops all over Seattle and the Eastside and hands down this was the most personal and inviting experience of them all. Thank you Ruth!!!

My dress was the perfect style for my steampunk wedding. The lace looked like gears! When the dress arrived the fit was off by several sizes (my fault entirely...pre-wedding stress!). Ruth was so kind and helpful we were able to figure way to get through that fiasco. I highly recommend Amanda Bridal to any bride.

Everyone should be aware that Amanda’s is being sued by a former customer on allegations of fraud for selling used wedding dresses and just bad business practices in general. You can read the article in Seattle PI here: http://www.seattlepi.com/local/article/Lawsuit-Bride-says-Redmond-boutique-sold-her-4613273.php While many will read this article and think that a lawsuit over a wedding dress is frivolous (I happen to agree with you), I would just like to share my experience with Amanda’s as it happens to mirror that of the girl in the article. After paying for the dress, Amanda’s reassured us that it would arrive at least three months before the wedding. In the end it didn’t arrive until a few weeks before. And this was after MANY frantic phone calls and emails went unreturned by Amanda’s. We were simply just ignored. When the dress finally did arrive it was about 3 sizes too big. I hardly lost any weight at all from when I originally was fitted, maybe 5 pounds at the most. And the worst part is that the dress had rips and tears everywhere throughout the fabric. We’re talking huge holes. To add insult to injury, Amanda’s ordered the completely wrong veil in the wrong color. And the icing on top of the cake is that I live out of state and so all of these, um, “errors” (if you could call them that) were happening at the last minute and it made for even more of a nightmare. We had to spend hundreds of dollars out of our own pocket to rush ship the dress and find a tailor that would alter and fix all of the holes in about a week’s time. In the end Amanda's reluctantly agreed to reimburse us for HALF of these extra expenses. Yet 6 months later we have yet to receive a dime. I hope the reader understands that it is not my intention to destroy a businesses’ reputation or make them close their doors. That is the last thing I want. But nothing I have said in my review is fabricated in any way, nor is it blown out of proportion. This is simply just what happened.
