I originally hired Mary based on the recommendation of the Compass & Anchor Club, where I had my reception. It took a little while to get together with her but when we did get together she promised the world but was a little scattered. She mainly does cakes but when I met with her she said she also does decorating.

She wrote everything down so it seemed like she would work out. She seemed to love my cake idea and offered to make chair covers for my wedding reception to cover the brown plastic chairs from the hall. I accepted her offer and told her that white or cream would work with my color theme.

We met again in February and she brought in some sketches for the cakes. They were totally not anything like the pictures and sketches I had sent. They looked rough and amateurish and I started to get nervous. She said she would redo them and we would meet again in March.

March came and went and I was unable to get a hold of her by phone or via email. I tried every week to contact her and after several months, she friended me on FaceBook. So, I started corresponding with her there. It turns out she had made chair covers like I had requested but instead of white or cream covers, she made black...for a wedding.

Then, she sent me pictures of cakes that she thought I would like and they were horrible. They were not what I wanted at all and by then I had wasted so much time with her. So, I told her that she could not provide what I needed and last minute, found someone else.

She ended up costing me so much money because she could not provide the services she promised she could. I ended up having to find several vendors last minute to do all of the tasks she promised she could do. I was fortunate to find a cake lady, Lisa Casper, who is local, professional and made a wonderful cake. I wish she were on this site so I could review her. Then, a friend of mine from college, who is a professional artist (Kimberly Coburn), volunteered her time to come up and make all of my last minute decorations so my reception would be beautiful.
