I brought a dress in for alterations, I was told by Chris Johnson, the owner, that she could have it done in time. She charged me for the alterations at the time of the fitting- what a scam! Never, NEVER pay up front. I had a twinge of this doesn't seem right when I paid ahead, however; she was referred by a friend that had a professional relationship with her so I did it anyway.
She let me know via text that the dress wouldn't be ready in time that was back in April and it is now nearly September and she will not return my calls, answer my texts, and there is no 'store' to be found. If anyone knows how to find this horrible excuse for a business owner, please post! I want the dress and my money back!

We purchases custon made bridesmaid dresses from Chris at Unique Bridal. The experience was horrific. She was nice the day we went in, but was unprepared for us. Once we paid, she was unorganized, rude, and unprofessional. We ordered our dresses 6 months before the wedding, she didn't start fitting us until a month prior to the wedding. We were charged $250 (paid in full and receipt stamped "all sales final") the day of the purchase. She wasn't planning to give us our dresses until the day before the wedding. We were supposed to ge tthem before the rehearsal dinner, then it changed to the next morning, then the afternoon, we didn't get them until w ewere already supposed to be taking photos. She didn't deliver them, we had to send someone for them. What we recieved isn't what we ordered. We didn't have the beading we'd ordered andpaid for (no refund for that was offered or given once requested). The dresses were poorly sewn, and made of cheap materials. No ones dress fit correctly (after multiple fittings), zippers were breaking b/c they were so cheap. Two dresses were missing halters that were paid for, and so on. It just continued to get worse. Chris was called multiple times before she answered. We've since veen trying to work with her on a resolution and she is avoiding us. One of the bridesmaid waited 1.5 hours in her store to speak to her and she snuck out teh back door. This is a shady place. We're just hoping to prevent another wedding from going through what we did. The brides dress was also a mess. It should also be noted that this business uses three different names, Apparel Design Center, Unique Bridal and Design, and Wedding warehouse or something similar. Run from Unique, run!

**Our experience with the Apparel Design Center in Blaine, MN was the only regret I had in our wedding. We had decided to go with custom made bridesmaid dresses made by the center to match my colors at a lower price that "we could find anywhere else". I WAS SO HAPPY I PURCHASED MY DRESS AT DAVID'S BRIDAL!!! I would never go anywhere else from now on!

**My experience was the same as another review...

(other review) They convinced us we would get better dresses and more personal service. They did NOT tell us that our out of town bridesmaids would need to make three trips in for fittings two weeks before the wedding because they didn't begin the dresses until 7 months after we made our order. We had a terrible time communicating with them-unreturned calls, missed appointments, incorrect information upon arrival for appointments, and wait times for appointments lasting more than 45 minutes.

(other review) in the end, despite many attempts to communicate with them and ask for adjustments when we felt the dresses were not ready in a timely manner, nor did they end up looking like what the sample we chose had looked like, we ended up- 4 days before the wedding-waiting for more than 3 hours to pick up five dresses that had water spots, were not properly steamed, were not altered correctly (we have pictures-seams were unfinished, one girl from Duluth was fitted 3 times and could not get the zipper up-1 week after her last fitting and she had NOT gained weight). We got boatloads of excuses but were told repeatedly throughout this process that everything was "non-refundable, no exchanges" so we were stuck.

*the final pick up and fitting 2 days before my wedding the dresses - none of the were completed. I was in my car crying after being there for 4 hours (my mother was there that day from 11:30 am - off and on until 4:30pm then sat and waited until 9:30pm when she finally was packing up the dresses). I almost demanded our money back at 7:30pm on Wednesday and my wedding was 5:30pm on Friday - I was ready to go in search for 4 black dresses at any retail shop! They did wear the dresses but it was kind of a disposable dress - $200 no lining in the inside just a sewing together piece of fabric - my girls were freezing when they were outside in the dresses.

**I would NEVER NEVER NEVER suggest to ANYONE to work with this company. It was terribly stressful, and the outcome was terrible. If you are considering this group!!!

When I bought my dress from here it was a great experience. Everyone there was extremely helpful and friendly. Because of the great customer service we thought this company could deliver we decided to go through them to purchase all of the bridesmaid dresses, the flower girl's dress, and all of the tuxedos. This was the biggest mistake that we made while planning our wedding.

This establishment has the worst customer service and communication that I have ever experienced in my life. They are only open for walk-ins 2 days a week and that is the only day they take phone calls as well. Even when you did call and leave voicemails on these days they still wouldn't respond or call you back. The only way I could ever get a hold of them was via email. They were not organized at all. They kept trying to charge myself and the other members of my wedding party for things we had already paid for because they said it was too difficult for them to keep track of everyone’s purchases. I actually did receive a couple of voicemails from them. One of them was a reminder of an appointment. Well I didn’t have any appointments scheduled for at least a couple of months. I suggested to them maybe they were calling the wrong bride and that they would need to call the person that actually did have the appointment. They told me I was wrong and that it was my appointment (even though it absolutely was not mine.) The other call I got was to let me know my order was ready. I called them back, and surprisingly enough they answered, and asked what it was that came in. They told me it was an outfit for my dog. I thought that was odd because I don't own a dog. I again had to tell them they have the wrong bride.

Now onto the bridesmaid dresses. We ordered red dresses with cream sashes. They sashes were not on for 2 of the 3 fittings. When we went in for all of our final fittings 2 days before the wedding the sashes were on but they were black! We decided to just leave them because I didn't trust them to make the corrections on time. All 4 of the bridesmaid dresses did not fit them properly. My girls ended up spending hours at a time at the store trying to get them altered and they still didn't fit. One of the girls had to safety pin her dress to her bra to keep it up and another girl stuffed her bra to try to bridge the gap. They mixed up some of the dresses as well and put the wrong dresses on each girl and couldn't figure out why they weren't fitting. They actually tried telling them that they must have lost/gained weight. They ordered a bra for one of them (who didn't want one) and charged her for it with out her knowing and refused to refund her the money.

The tuxedos were the biggest mess I have ever seen. They kept saying "Oh don't worry about it everything will be fine. They guys are the easiest to get done. We'll make sure everything is perfect." HA, what a joke! First of all when we ordered them we were told we would be able to pick them up the Wednesday or Thursday prior to our Friday afternoon wedding. Well they weren't available until 5pm Thursday night. That wasn't a huge deal because they had said Thursday. Well, when they were finally ready for pick up 3 of the tuxedos were MIA. They finally hunted them down on Friday sometime and they were all wrong. My ring bearer's shirt was too small for him. One of my usher's shirts was a boys small and he is in the 7th grade so it was WAY too small, and my step-son's suit was supposed to be a red vest with a red tie and he was given black and black. ALL of the suits were the wrong style. We specifically told her that we did not want the style we ended up receiving. My husband was given pants that were a size 42 when he wears a 33. They went through 3 pairs of pants with him and never did get it right. They actually told him that he would just have to pull them up to his chest. He was also supposed to have a silver vest with a silver tie and was given a silver vest with a white tie. The shoes that almost every guy rec'd were scuffed up and the pants they were given had holes in the pockets. Some of the guys got cuff links with their tuxes, some of them didn't. All of the guys ended up not getting out of the shop until about 3pm and we had to be at our wedding venue at 4. While they were waiting for their tuxes Chris actually told my father-in-law to "Shut up. I can only handle one thing at a time." She also told me and my brother that we need to learn how to "filter." That we can only control so much.

I would NEVER recommend this "business" to anyone. I have had to apologize over and over again to my entire wedding party and their families for putting them through all of this. I was so mad on my wedding day that I had a hard time even enjoying myself. We will be writing a letter to the better business bureau.

The lady there was super nice and did a wonderful job. My only complaint is the price. They nickel and dime you for everything everytime you come in. However, the value of work they did was great.

Our experience with the Apparel Design Center in Blaine, MN was the only regret I had in our wedding. Kept changing the pricing on me for the cost of fitting and alterations. The dresses were cheap, and in great condition though, and it was nice to buy a dress right off the rack, especially since I didn't have time for ordering.
