We just had our (magical!) wedding here on May 16, 2015. I think the parks system has improved their services since the previous reviews were written. These days, they have one guard/ranger on-site during the event, and he was dressed very nicely and behaved politely. He was even so helpful as to put away tables after the party ended, even though that was our responsibility. Hey, he may have just wanted to get home (it was after 10pm), but still -- it was helpful. :) As someone else here mentioned, you DO have to take care of all of the details if you go with this venue. They provide 20 rectangular tables and 125 white folding chairs, as well as garbage and recycle cans, but that's it. We had 140 guests and ended up paying at least $7500 to vendors for food, drinks, linens, party rentals, etc. (not including our costs for photographer, DJ, or floral arrangements) so in hindsight it might have been well worth it to book an all-inclusive venue to not have to plan so many details. Parking is limited (about 30 spots in the lot) so if you are having a larger outdoor wedding that is one more thing you will need to plan for. If you want an indoor wedding and reception, make sure your guest count is under 80 people. With an outdoor reception you can have up to 200 guests. We did this and used the clubhouse for our dance party and the cake cutting. They have a 5 hour event window maximum, and are not flexible with expanding this. You can buy as much set-up time as you want though (we rented 2 additional hours so that my Mother-In-Law wouldn't feel stressed, as she was leading our set-up team). The park ranger was helpful in making sure that the general public did not park in the lot during our event. It is a public park, but it is also tucked away and generally doesn't have that many people using the facility. I did notice that a couple families were on another area of the lawn during our ceremony, but I didn't mind -- just more people to witness the love!

The park is nice for a smallish-under 100 person casual wedding. We were a bit tight seating 110 at 11 round tables inside. You need to plan everything here beyond the venue. Things that were disappointing: there is no leeway on the 4 hour alcohol limit, there was a not so friendly (or nicely dressed) event supervisor walking around policing everything, there are only 2 single bathrooms because additional outside ones are closed at 4 and it is a public park so there is nothing to stop random people from driving in or wondering through from the near by river path(this only happen a couple times,it mostly felt pretty private).
Overall we had an amazing day there and the park worked well for our budget and style but I could see it not being for everyone.
I paid the extra for use of the lawn and extra setup and clean up time hoping we'd get a little more party with that but as I mentioned they don't budge on the restrictions so, it was a waste to pay the extra.

The location is a beautiful. A lush grass field surrounded by redwoods. We had a beautiful ceremony outdoors and held a reception indoors. The indoors is small and doesn't fit too many people. It is also a state park, so fires are not allowed...this includes candles and tiki torches (as we had planned in our wedding). The main complaint we would have about this facility is their clean up crew, which the park hires and has available during the rented hours. Unfortunately, the help that was their the day of our wedding was very unprofessional. We not only received complaints from some of our guests, but they started cleaning up early and one of them bumped into me and spilled wine on my dress!!! Needless to say, I was very unhappy which made my husband very unhappy. We mentioned this to the rental department, but nothing ever came out of it. My only tears I shed that day were due to this park helper...and I still have the stain in my $1000 dress!!!
