Located right on Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington, MA about 4 miles from Harvard Square, the Arlington Town Hall is the active home for the Arlington city offices and local functions like Town Meeting, school concerts, etc. However, it's also a gorgeous, historic building (101 years old in 2014) with an incredible reception hall and lovely outdoor gardens. The very reasonable rental fee includes use of all the indoor and outdoor space, and the funds are used to maintain and restore the building which we really liked. Plus the fee is the same whether you're holding a wedding or any other kind of event, which feels nice when the wedding industry seems out to gouge you at every turn. We held our ceremony outside under a tree, our cocktail hour also outside in front of a fountain, and our reception in the auditorium. It was the first and only venue we visited, the first thing we booked for our wedding, and we received so many compliments from our guests about the space. We couldn't have been happier. Plus the space was big enough to allow us flexibility for a great rain plan, which was so reassuring when the forecast was totally up and down the days prior to the wedding.

It is an incredible space, and I highly recommend it!

What a beautiful venue for a wedding. The Whittemore-Robbins House was only the second venue we visited, but we both knew it was the place we would get married. The historic house is both lovely and function. Unlike a museum house, the WRH is used for both events and town services (it is owned by the Town of Arlington) on a regular basis, so it has a homey and comfortable feel as opposed to a stuffy historic house where you are afraid to use the furniture. We had use of four rooms downstairs, two rooms upstairs and front and back porches. We were even able to add our personal photos to the mantles!
Vicky, the function manager, was kind and accommodating. She really served as a wedding coordinator. Since neither of us had been married and our officiant was a friend who got a one-day license, Vicky was nice enough to give us some free (and much needed) advice on the ceremony and reception.
The entire experience was a pleasure and I would recommend this venue to anyone.

Gorgeous, unique and affordable.
Our wedding was beautiful and incredibly fun. I also liked that it did not look like all other weddings. Patsy was wonderful to work with.

The Town Hall was a fanstatic place to hold our ceremony and reception! We loved the unique feel of the garden and auditorium and Patsy was so flexible. The only downside is having to bring in and coordinate all of your other vendors on your own.
