When we first walked into The Atrium, we were not completely blown away. Then we met the catering director Tony, and he completely won us over. The Atrium is a classic venue, and at the time we weren't sure that what we wanted. However thanks to Tony we choose them. We communicated with Tony over the months, until one day we got a bill in the mail with another persons name on it. My wife called to make an appointment with Tony 2 weeks before our wedding. That is when we were told Tony was no longer employed at The Atrium and now were to deal with someone named Betty. As I write this review, please do not judge this venue based off Betty the new catering director. In a nutshell Betty is not easy to work with. We had to continously debate things that were previously promised to us by Tony because she now said they weren't possible. Her answer was alway, I have to talk to the owners about every issue we had. It got to be really frustrating and really caused my wife to be upset one day. We were honestly worried that our event wasn't going to turn out the way we previously envisioned it. Betty even had the nerve to call my Wife the day of the wedding to ask about carving stations. The low professionalism score is for Betty not the other staff.

When we walked into the venue, everything looked amazing thanks to Amore Decor Rental! The food was amazing! The ballroom looked so incredible that my wife teared up. We went for an Art Deco theme and the venue worked perfectly for it. Our Maitre'd ensured everything ran smooth and on cue. The real hidden gem of the night was our Bridal Attendant Alicia. OMG was she amazing. She catered to everything my Wife and I needed. From getting us food, to drinks, to even helping my Wife touch up her hair. and sewed back a broken bustle. At the end of the night she packed us food. She truly made the night for us. We love her! The event turned out great, even though we had the last minute hiccups.

Ideally, we would give the Atrium two ratings: 2/5 stars for the planning process in advance of the wedding, and 4/5 stars for the actual day of the wedding. We met with Betty, the head of sales, multiple times, and each time she was brusque at best and often downright rude, hedged and refused to give us information, promised that she would get back to us and then never did. In an attempt to get better service and information, we met with both Albert and Joseph (the owners), who were both very nice but made us promises that were later retracted as being impossible. Consequently, we got to the day of the wedding not knowing whether important details would be handled correctly, or whether the bride and several family members with celiac disease would have anything to eat at the reception. All that said, the actual wedding and reception were handled very well. The venue was clean, details that hadn't been handled in advance were fixed promptly, and the day-of staff were professional and competent. We chose the Atrium because we needed glatt Kosher catering, which was done so well that non-Kosher guests didn't notice the dairy substitutes (even in "ice cream" and cake frosting). The chef came out of the kitchen and talked to gluten-free guests to make sure that everyone was taken care of, and the maître d' took care of us and our guests very well. However, the difficulty and poor service in the planning process makes us unsure of whether we would recommend the Atrium to others.

Choosing the RIGHT venue for us was the hardest decision we had to make. We were trying to make a catering hall more flexible to fit what our guests would be use to (more family style reception, given that we are Russian). We knew this was the place for us since the day we met with Betty Ann. She was so genuine and caring and made it very easy for us to trust her and work with her. She was always available to answer all of our questions and guided us along this hard process. She did everything in her power to fit A LOT of our requirements. She was so patient and such a pleasure to work with. The Atrium worked with us and made our day unbelievably amazing! There are no words to describe how thankful we are to Betty Ann, Justin and Hernan (maitre d). They were on top of everything the whole night. They knew our needs/wants so well that everything was done even before we would realize we needed it to be done. They pulled through for us when our florist messed up the chuppah and Justin even operated our fog machine to make our first dance unforgettable. We really cannot thank them enough for all that they did. Lastly, even though we barely touched our food everyone absolutely loved the food, especially the filet mignon! Overall, great experience! Our wedding was a hit and everyone loved the venue. It is absolutely gorgeous!

Betty Ann was great to work. She was patient and she literally took care of me. She made sure my day would come out perfect. I love my Maitre D. They took out food for me and Romeo while we were taking pictures since we were missing out on the cocktail hour.

I used this venue to host my husband's retirement Dinner. We had a BLAST! Everything was so beautiful.
From the day that I booked my event here, the staff (Betty Ann) was very professional and made me feel comfortable about all my decisions. She suited a menu to fit my budget and the owner was even there, to make sure I was ok. He was very polite and even made me laugh. On the day of the event, my Operations Manager Justin and Maître D' Hernan Perez were extremely professional and attentive.

I believe this rating would be a 5 stars, but behind the scenes incidents occurred 2 weeks before the wedding that were stressful. I've read another review on here about last minute issues, and sadly I have to say that we had a similar experience, though I hope this is rare. I'll start with the Good. Alicia the bridal attendant truly MADE OUR NIGHT! She did everything from help me bustle my dress, fix my hair, take off my shoes when I couldn't barely feel my toes, made sure we had time to eat, made sure my cup was always filled, packed food to go, wrapped up all of my decor items in a box to go, and also made sure I was having fun. I left the venue confessing my love for this woman. Food: My guests RAVED about how much food they got, and how DELICIOUS it was. Price: The price is one of the better prices in the area for all that you get. Hotel Stay: They provide a free hotel room, and also free shuttle to our guests. We got a free cake from Palermos, as well as all linens, uplighting, and centerpieces (if you use them, we chose not too). The service the night of was FANTASTIC! The staff really did a great job. Everyone says it was the BEST wedding they've been too. The staff the night of really put out the works! Not so Good: Tony left the business, and we were not notified. We sent an email to Tony 3-4 weeks before the wedding, & we received a response from someone that said, "Hello. Are you booked with us?" Working with Betty, the new Sales Director, was difficult at times. Several things that were promised to us by Tony were not written on the contract, therefore we needed to come in & speak with the owner a week before the wedding. The day we met with the owner, another couple had similar issues, as we overheard their conversation. Other things happened that stressed us out that I believe could of been handled differently, but those are all behind the scenes details. The day of the wedding was AMAZING and the staff that worked the wedding really deserves kudos!!!

The Atrium was a great place for our wedding reception. We had a blast there! The cocktail hour was incredible, and we still get friends and family raving about how much food there was there, and so much variety. The main hall is very beautifully decorated, and you have your choice of 3 or 4 different lighting schemes. The atrium has a very large dance floor, and it kept our guests entertained throughout the evening. We dealt with Tony at the atrium. He was very professional and described step-by-step what we should expect on the big day. He also walked us through the different perks we would have by doing the wedding at the Atrium (such as, an outdoor area for pictures and dessert, a special room for getting ready downstairs, and an assistant to the bride). Everyone we dealt with was extremely professional and they exceeded our expectations (Alicia was excellent, she was my wife's assistant for the evening). We would recommend the Atrium to all of our friends and family for a special event. Thanks Tony and staff!

We had to cancel the wedding, with ONE YEAR'S NOTICE, and they would not refund our deposit despite promising they would if they rebooked the date. WHen they rebooked the date we were told by our salesperson, Bill, that we would get our deposit back and that the owner himself told him he would send it. The owner lied and never refunded our deposit. We had to hire an attorney and the owner diged him for months! They are CROOKS! DO NOT USE THE ATRIUM!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Atrium in October 2015 and could not have been happier with our choice! We cannot say enough good things about this venue and its director of sales, Tony Tarabocchia. Tony is extremely professional, experienced, organized, and a true gentleman. From the beginning, he treated us like family and made every effort to accommodate us. Throughout our engagement, Tony made himself available to answer our questions and assist us with planning. When the evening of our event arrived, he truly went above and beyond not only to set the tone for our reception, but also to ensure that the night went smoothly for us. A prime example of this was when our bakery (the CakeOver in Lake Hiawatha) failed to deliver our wedding cake, Tony stepped in and provided a very nice backup cake. Thanks to his preparedness, our reception went seamlessly and we were able to enjoy our cake-cutting ceremony, which we otherwise would have missed out on.

The rest of the staff at The Atrium were similarly professional and helpful. Our bridal attendant, Alicia, deserves special mention here. She was consistently available to me throughout the evening, brought food down to the bridal suite for my husband and I during our cocktail hour, and at the end of the night made multiple trips out to our car with us to assist in carrying our gifts and belongings.

For anyone with food allergies or dietary restrictions, rest assured that The Atrium will excel in catering to your needs. We worked closely with Tony to modify our menu to accommodate my gluten-free and dairy-free diet. As for the food…it was bountiful and delicious, without exception! A number of our guests told us how much they enjoyed the cocktail hour and their dinners. The main banquet area, the Crystal Room, is spacious and elegant, and comfortably seated all 185 of our wedding guests.

We had a perfect experience at The Atrium and plan to have future events there!
