All of our tastings are offered by appointment only. We welcome you to stop by the bakery any time and see what we have to offer, but when it comes to tastings and consultations, we want to be sure that we will be here, ready to give you and your special day our full attention.
What are your tasting hours?
From October thru April we are available for tastings Monday - Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and Sundays from 10am to 1pm. We will always work with our clients to arrange for an 'after hours' meeting if needed. During the wedding season, May - September, we are only available for tastings Monday through Thursday. We will always attempt to accomodate a weekend appointment if necessary, but this is extremely difficult during wedding season.
Describe how you price, such as by slice or by tier, for your cakes?
Our traditional tiered wedding cakes are priced per serving. Additional decorations such as elaborate piping, sugar flowers, etc will be calculated as an additional charge.
Does the price include the top tier of the cake?
Do you offer custom cakes, or do you work with pre-designed styles?
We are a specialty cake bakery whose goal is never to do the same cake twice. We feel that each cake, like each bride, should be completely unique. Our manta is "You'll never see YOUR wedding cake in someone else's album." That all said, if there is a design that you are in love with, we are happy to look at that design as inspiration for a completely unique creation for you.
What (if any) special ingredients, such as fresh fruits or farm-fresh butter, do you use in your cakes?
We are a scratch bakery. We only use the best ingredients in all of our cakes, fillings, and frostings. We hand craft all of our fruit fillings using fresh, seasonal, locally grown products. As a result, there are some times where a particular filling may not be available.
How many cakes do you schedule for a typical weekend?
The number of cakes we will schedule for any given weekend is based on the complexity of the cakes, as well as our delivery schedule. We have had weekends were we only chose to accomodate two weddings due to the size and complexity of the cakes. It is for this reason we encourage our clients to reserve their date as soon as they know we are their chosen vendor.
Will you work with the client's florist to garnish the cake?
Yes. We prefer to arrange for flowers with our client's florist. This will ensure that they are delivered to the venue on time and will be a perfect match for the rest of the floral display.
What (if any) cake accessories, such as a cake stand or cake cutter, do you rent out?
For cupcake weddings we are able to provide a variety of cupcake stands and towers.
Do you offer delivery? If yes, how much is your average delivery fee?
We do provide delivery services for our cakes. Our standard delivery fee is $75 for most destinations in the Metro Detroit Area.
