I was really not pleased with the outcome of my dress. The bust area was way too big. I had told them several times that I wanted that altered, and they constantly said they were going to put cups inside and the problem area would be fixed. That did not happen, and by the last fitting (which this problem was still not fixed) it was too close to my wedding date to spend any more time on this and risk not having my dress ready. Second of all, I was promised two hooks to help pull the long train at the back. One hook for the underneath layers and one hook on top. The day we picked up the dress, I tried it on, but did not hook the dress up as we wanted to see what it looked like completely laid out. The night before the wedding, I put on my dress to find the hook for the top layer was in place but there was no bottom hook for the underneath layers, and we had to be crafty to put something together. The night of the wedding, once the dancing begun my dress gave me problems and I had to waste my time trying to pin the back of my dress - something that should have been done by the seamstress. Over all, the craftsmanship of this dress was extremely poor and I am so upset with how it turned out. No one should ever feel that way, it's your dress and you should feel perfect in it, not shoved aside telling customers "yeah yeah we'll fix it". I do NOT recommend this to ANYONE.

My friend told me about Bea Shawn Fashions. I was sold on the idea that alterations were free once you purchased a dress from them so I called to make sure they had my dress, which they did. It was the first one I tried on and that was it.
Pros: The ladies that work there are really nice, knowledgeable and helpful.
Cons: Alterations may be free, but they only allow you a certain amount of changes to the dress and they make it a point to keep reminding you of that. Not very professional in my opinion. After a while I felt like I was bothering them each time I asked them to fix something. Keep in mind, I didn't ask for very many things (3 total), but they certainly made me feel like I did - definitely didn't appreciate that too much. At my first fitting, before any alterations were done, I was asked by the lady at the front desk if I wanted to pay the remaining balance on my dress - seriously? Considering nothing was done to my dress yet, I declined. On my second last fitting, one of the alterations ladies gave us her home phone # to call her if we needed any alterations done to the bridesmaids dresses. Probably not a big deal to some, but I found that unprofessional. Needless to say, we didn't call her. The day I came to pick up my dress, I asked if I could try it on one last time before taking it home to make sure that everything was fixed the way I wanted it - I was told that it was already steamed. Told them that I paid a lot of money for the dress and I wanted to ensure that I was completely satisfied with the dress and the alterations before I paid for it and left with it. I tried on the dress.
I can't really say that my overall experience with them was good or bad simply because the only other dress place I went to was David's Bridal and that place is a complete joke - and I'm not sure that other bridal stores operate the same way. I would encourage brides not to pay for anything until you are completely satisfied.

I felt like a princess in my dress. The service I received from these ladies was everything I hoped for. The tailor who altered my dress made sure my dress looked like perfection. I added additional things to my dress and she made it even more beautiful.

Bea Shawn's was a great expierience for me. I came in there knowing which dress I wanted and they were so friendly and extremly helpful. They showed me other options in case I wasnt happy with what I orginaly wanted but either way I still got the dress I was in love with from the beginning. Ordering was simple, alterations were very well done and the pricing was very reasonable.
