Brian has had a love of photography since the age of 14, and has been shooting professionally since 1991. He began by taking photos of sports, spot news (fires, accidents, etc), and events for universities, newspapers, and magazines. Brian has been published in numerous publications from local community papers to international magazines, such as the University of Texas athletic team guides, the Houston Chronicle, and Rugby World UK. In 2002, he expanded into weddings, portraiture, and commercial photography.

A love for capturing the "moment" and catching people at their more candid is what has led Brian to wedding photography. Such as the flower girl hiding behind her mother's dress, the moment the ring is placed on the finger, or that stolen kiss away from everyone.

During his time off, Brian enjoys helping his 1 year old son learn to walk and discover the world, watching documentaries with his wife, and being captain of the local dart team. The Jackson family makes their home in San Carlos, CA. Read less

INFO FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
All types of lighting scenarios.
Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital and have been since 2002. Although I used film for 16 years prior to that.
How many photographers do you work with?
At a wedding it's usually 1 additional photographer, but if the wedding requires it, 3 photographers can be arranged.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
Never more than one wedding in 1 day. Rarely more than one wedding in one weekend, long weekends usually being the exception.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, I work with a network of photographers who are all top quality and can be fill-ins in case of emergency.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Too much. Backups and triples of most things.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Of course.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Just the meal break. A good photographer should always be on the lookout for candids, details, or special moments.
Do you charge for travel?
local travel no, but beyond 100 miles, there is a trip fee and for destination weddings.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
usually within 2 weeks
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
website, and a CD are typical. Contact sheets can be had on special order.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Forever. Although the website gallery might be taken down due to space constraints at some time in the future, but can always be requested to put back up.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes. The photographer created the image and should always retain the copyright. Now, a license is granted to the couple for certain usage of the photos depending on the packages purchased: email photos, make prints, etc.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
In certain packages.
