We used BCC for our wedding on July 12, 2014. We are very happy with our decision. The staff was wonderful and the food was great. We worked with Jamie and Phil. They were friendly and very responsive. The other vendors I used flowers, DJ all worked well with BCC. I would absolutely recommend BCC. If you use them and have to purchase your own liquor there is a place in Hopewell Junction Viscount Liquors that was also very helpful.

From the start, we knew we were in excellent hands working with Bridge Creek! As a preferred vendor at our venue (which required bringing in all chairs, tables, etc. ourselves and had some strict requirements), we could count on them to deal with all the rental equipment logistics, and coordinating everything smoothly the day of, and they did not disappoint! Phil at Bridge Creek was amazingly patient and responsive dealing with many emails in the weeks leading up to the wedding, figuring out the smallest details of our reception timeline and setup including lots of little DIY details and several "surprise" elements I was planning for my fiance which further complicated things! They were also flexible in incorporating some of our suggestions that deviated from their normal plans, including ways to cut costs. On the day of the wedding, we didn't have to worry about a thing and could actually enjoy the party AND the delicious food! Guests are still raving about it!

Bridge Creek Catering is AWESOME in every way; food, service and quality! As a bride planning her wedding I contacted several caterers by e-mail or by phone (left messages). Bridge Creek won hands down! They e-mailed me back in a timely manner and when I called and left a message within an hour I was not only called back but Tricia, Jamie and Phil were pleasant and professional. The day of our wedding Bridge Creek arrived when they said they would and started working immediately. They executed my wishes effortlessly, we wanted our guest to have appetizers and drinks before the ceremony and the stations for dinner set up so that after the ceremony we could go directly into the reception tent and eat, they did exactly so and beautifully!!! Our guest commented on how pleasant and easy going the staff was and their comments on the food are still flooding Facebook!! We had a BBQ station w/Ribs, mac & cheese, corn bread and collard greens, fug-getta-bout-it AMAZING!!! Brides and Grooms, you know how you hear the stories where you don't get to eat but later you hear how great the food was by your guest! Well rest assured that any food left over Bridge Creek wraps up and gives you the left overs, believe me there wasn't a lot either but when my new husband and I got home later at around 3am (from the after bar party) we were starving and then smiled because we realized we had some yummy food to attack! The only item we weren't able to try (no leftovers) was the corn bread, some of our guest had like 3 or 4 stacked on their plates, gotta love a great cornbread :) We would hire them again in-a- heart beat!!!! THANK YOU Bridge Creek for giving this bride & groom a great experience and AMAZING DEEEEEE-LEEEE-SHOUS Food!!!!!

Bridge creek catering exceeded all my expectations. In a very stressful year they were the one vendor I could rely on completely to understand and execute all our ideas with professionalism and courtesy. These are the folks you want for your wedding. Stop looking for anyone else. Their food was outstanding and perfectly fit the vibe of our reception. I've heard from several sources that it was the best they've ever had at a wedding. You will not regret choosing them as your caterer!!!

Bridge Creek turned out to be the only caterer that my husband and I met with while planning for our wedding. We worked with Tricia in the office who is a gem. BCC was extremely accommodating and allowed us to design the entire menu of our wedding with their recommendations. We opted for a BBQ buffet and the food was delicious!! Our guests are still raving about it (especially the short ribs and mac & cheese).

Unfortunately we had to rent everything down to the luxury port-a-potty's for the reception which can be very costly. However working closely with Tricia allowed us to cut costs wherever we could to keep expenses down.

The staff at the event was extremely accommodating and professional. All of my stresses were immediately put at ease when I saw our dreams turn to reality. BCC also worked great with our additional vendors, which allowed me to take a step back in that coordination.

I highly recommending using Bridge Creek Catering for your wedding or next event!

Bridge Creek Catering provided the food for my cocktail hour and reception at my wedding. All of it was delicious! They were really great with working with me & my budget, as well as easy to correspond with. Also prompt in answering emails & calls with any question I may have had. Day of wedding, everything ran so smoothly & all of their staff was extremely professional. They even helped to fix my cake which was damaged on the ride up to the Kaaterskill (the cake was from a different vendor in Manhattan), which I only just found out about recently!!

My now wife and I used Bridgecreek for our wedding reception earlier this month, and could not have been happier with them. Rather than write a new review, I'll just copy the email I wrote them later that week:

Everything was amazing.  Despite our best efforts to throw monkey wrenches into the weekend (aka putting a bunch of booze into the freezer instead of the fridge), it was everything we hoped it would be and more. You and your team were a big part of that, and we really appreciate it enormously. Jessica (our "captain") got everything into place even when we were furiously changing things at the last minute, and the rest of the team were all perfectly friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and just what we pictured," homey" but special. We really appreciated the little touches like bringing Cecily a full plate of oysters during dinner, or making sure we knew where nicely packed leftovers of things were in case we wanted to prolong the weekend's feast. All of that is obviously on top of how much work you yourself (Tricia, our coordinator) did and how patient you were in helping us plan everything--I can't even imagine how many things would have slipped through the cracks if you weren't guiding us along. Also, Cecily really appreciated (in retrospect) her moment of terror when you pretended to be an unrecognized guest.

I don't think there's really anything we would have changed, overall. It seems like some of the particular beers weren't replenished at the bars towards the end of the night, but that may have been due to confusion about what alcohol had been frozen and wasn't usable, and regardless it just meant we have more leftovers (and there definitely wasn't any shortage of alcohol overall). Really, we couldn't have asked for more.

Thank you SO MUCH to the BCC team for being such wonderful partners to us! They were consistently reliable, helpful, cool, calm, totally professional and fun to work with! They were proactive in trouble-shooting and great problem-solvers during moments of frustration. I loved that their team handled the rental component as well, it was so nice not to have to deal directly with additional vendors. The service and staff on the wedding day were great, the catering captain was wonderful and I was so appreciative of her close attention to detail in executing our vision. The food was AMAZING and we are still hearing from guests who can't get over how good it was. Overall we had a really wonderful experience with BCC and would definitely recommend them to anyone planning events in the upstate area!

From our first meeting Tricia at Bridge Creek made this look easy. I had many concerns as I don't live in the country full time so wanted to hire an event planner to take care of the details, it wasn't necessary. Tricia covered everything. We had many last minute decisions to make as the weather wasn't cooperating and nothing was missed. Tricia was in touch up to the last minute making sure the weather wasn't going to dampen our day! The food was excellent and plentiful. During the cocktail hour the appetizers were delicious and there was always someone in front of you with a tray. The dinner was very good especially when you think it was all cooked in a tent! Russel (the event captain) ran a very professional team of service workers who were friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend Bridge Creek, you won't be disappointed!

The Bridge Creek crew were wonderful in doing our May, 2013 wedding. Phil and Tricia were great at helping us plan for things we would never have seen coming, responded patiently and quickly to all our concerns, and helped us settle on a special menu and all the rentals so that it was fitting for us AND fit our budget. The wedding day had extra challenges with rain/wind/cold--but the captain, Jessica, and the well-staffed crew managed to handle all that and our last minute concerns too. And yes, the food was great-- seasonal, attractive, delicious, and very responsive to our wishes. (They even made fantastic gluten-free strawberry rhubarb pie.) They are a very professional group and we heartily recommend them!

These guys were fantastic. I really loved working with these guys - they promise and deliver to high standards. Tremendously helpful, accommodating, and responsive in the weeks, days, and even hours leading leading up to the event. The on-site team was also lovely to interact with during the day. Great during preparation in helping us stick with a budget, adjusting for menu changes as desired, etc.

Although having great food is important---and believe me, everything Phil and his team prepared and served was delicious and elegantly served--the best thing about Bridgecreek Catering was the way they work. We didn't realize until it was over how vital it is to work with someone who knows weddings inside and out. Every question we had was answered quickly and calmly, and Phil was able to steer us in the right direction, while at the same time allowing every choice to be ours. I would offer my highest recommendation to anyone in need of a caterer. In fact--I did offer it, and was just as happy with their outstanding work as a guest at a friend's wedding just a few weeks later.

Absolutely could not have asked for a better caterer! All of our food was absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly yet professional. Everyone loved our bartender that night. Our wedding was September 1, 2013 in Germantown, NY. I talked with several caterers in the area, and I picked Bridge Creek because I felt so secure with all my communications with them. Tricia at Bridge Creek responded to my emails promptly, was available easily by phone, and gave me the impression that I could pretty much have whatever type of food I wanted. This is in contrast to other caterers who took weeks, sometimes months to get back to me with their more or less preset menus. Bridge Creek also handled my rentals, everything from the tent to the sugar bowl, which is essential since only they could know what was needed. Tricia was able to give me advice on all aspects of wedding planning and not just the food and rentals. Day of the wedding the food was amazing, the service topnotch, and the whole event ran seamlessly! I wouldn’t call myself a “foodie”, but I like fine dining, and Bridge Creek’s food was well present, flavorful, and did not disappoint! Bridge Creek was prepared for everything and worked so well with my other vendors. If you need a caterer who will put your mind at ease, go with Bridge Creek!

We are very happy with Bridge Creek. Tricia was very easy to work with leading up to the wedding, helping us to make a menu that fit our tastes and budget. She also helped us make the wedding eco-friendly (e.g. local vegetables, no plastic cups, etc.). The food was delicious. Many of the guests commented on how good it was. Also, the servers and captain (Leilani) were great. During the post-ceremony photos, they followed us around - making sure we had food and drink whenever we wanted it. We highly recommend them.

Phil and his team at Bridge Creek Catering were instrumental in making our wedding such a phenomenal experience. The food was really delicious, with amazing presentation. We got so many compliments--especially on the grilled cheese station. His staff is friendly and professional, and I cannot stress enough how important it was to have Phil there all the way through to answer all of our questions and keep us calm. These know what they are doing and it shows. I cannot think of a single complaint. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. In fact we have, and our friends were as please with Bridge Creek as we were.

Phil and his team were absolutely incredible! I recommend them without any hesitation whatsoever. They helped us with almost every aspect of the wedding, and there is no way that it would have been as successful as it was without them.

Phil helped us find a venue and met us there to do a walkthrough months before the wedding. He was able to address all of our concerns and give lots of ideas about how to organize things. This was especially helpful since our wedding was mostly "do it yourself"

The rentals came to our venue a few days before the wedding so we could organize and set up. We were able to add things last minute, and change the location of the dance floor due to weather issues.

We had a large family style reception with several different dishes. My husband is Filipino, and Phil did a great job preparing a mix of Filipino foods and American BBQ dishes. Everything was hot, and there was plenty to go around during the cocktail hour and dinner. When we were getting pictures taken we even had staff coming up and bringing us wine and food. It was really nice and made us feel very taken care of.

The bartenders were also great-there was never a line, and everyone was happy eating and drinking the night away.

We are still getting compliments on the salmon we served-people were saying that is was some of the best they've had, which was certainly nice to hear.

Phil was always welcoming when we came to meet with him. He made himself available to us any time, and was ready to listen and respond to all our concerns. He was a pleasure to work with.

All in all, I would absolutely recommend Bridge Creek. We loved working with them.

Bridge Creek just catered our wedding and we had the most pleasant experience from start to finish. Phil has been very professional, flexible, accommodating, responsive and overall a pleasure to work with. On the day of the wedding the staff were creative, pro-active, efficient and kept the event running smoothly. We can't say enough about Bridge Creek Catering and their professionalism. Please consider them for your next event, you won't regret it.

They were really fantastic. There was a huge rain storm all day, 2.5 inches, and it scuttled all our plans. BCC came on the spot, figured it all out and made it work. They are like a well-oiled machine. They cost maybe a bit more than some others but what you get is event planning and coordinating, a real savings since we couldn't possibly deal with it all on our big day. Everyone on the staff was extra nice to us, as if it mattered. It was like living a privileged life for a day. Of course then I had to go to work the next day but I still had the memories.

Quality: five. the food was great. even the leftovers on the reheat
Responsiveness: we call BCC at 7am on our wedding day and they were up and already trying to figure out how to deal with the rainstorm.
Professionalism: never once did I feel like he was taking advantage of us. he always gave us the pricing options and tried to work with us to bring costs down. He was very professional, treating all our whims and last minute changes as normal and expected.
Value: well, they weren't the cheapest. but they did run the wedding for us so overall a good deal.
Flexibility: able to call things in the day of the wedding and save our big day. good job.

(Holy crap, I just read that Kim persons review. Either BCC seriously improved their game in the last year or she's nuts. Phil held our hand, walking us through the wedding and catering process for like six months. very patient)

This is the note I wrote to Bridge Creek Catering after our wedding.

Phil,

I just wanted to send a short note to tell you how absolutely fantastic you and your group were (are). You are obviously more than just a catering company. We particularly noticed the captain, Paul, making it work even while the tent was only half-setup. He took such good care of making sure the guests felt like they were experiencing a wedding rather than a rain-disaster.

It was really impressive to see your team step up to the task and re-plan everything at the last minute. It was so so helpful to have Paul seeming to take ownership of the wedding, as if it meant everything to him that it ran smoothly. I’m not just saying these things as a neophyte wedding person: I’ve been to a couple in the last two years and the catering staff was hostile, pushy, and unfriendly (I experienced it this summer, souring the mood) or laying low only preparing food in the background. Your group is so much more than this. You offer to make sure the wedding is perfect no matter what. We really want to thank you. If there is anything we can do to help you please let us know.

I'm very happy to recommend these guys. Above all else, they were a pleasure to deal with throughout: understanding, flexible, astute, and good-natured. In consultation with us they put together a great menu and made some helpful suggestions for how things could be done without ever giving the impression that they wanted do things 'their way'. Indeed, we put a few a challenges their way with our unconventional venue but they dealt with it all really well, and always with a natural smile. The food was excellent, and based on feedback from our guests I'd particularly recommend the skirt steak and the trout.

Bridge Creek did an amazing job with our wedding reception. The staff did a beautiful job setting things up the way we wanted them - everything looked perfect! Russell, the catering captain was an absolute star. She made things run very smoothly.

The food was very good. We were surprised by the variety we were able to offer our guests. We liked that they incorporated seasonal and local foods where possible.

Phil was great about working with us when our catering manager left unexpectedly. He made us feel at ease and was responsive to our requests.

Bridge Creek was very accomodating. Tricia does a great job taking care of everything and goes above and beyond to make the entire process as stress free as possible. All our guests were overall happy. Bar staff was great and worked so well with what they had at their disposal to make every guest feel special.

We heard the same negative feedback and it was always about one server that must have been having a bad day. While we all have bad days she's not allowed to have it on my wedding. It was a small blemish on an otherwise perfect caterer.

Bridgecreek was one of the recommended caterers at our venue. I chose them because they were available on our date and willing to accomodate our small wedding of under 50 guests. Phil was nice to talk to on the phone (initially)very friendly and social, and always willing to speak with us at length. All emails were responded to immediately and we felt comfortable working with him.

My parents went for a tasting of the food (because we were overseas at the time) and said everything was fine. Later, when we arrived home--we went to meet with Phil in person. We met and discussed some things--but no food was offered to us, which surprised me a bit. Although my parents had done a formal tasting, I thought they would want to impress the bride and groom with some small noshies or something. To me that is what hospitality is about. But nothing...

When we began to discuss wedding cakes, I asked if they had a sample. They did not. I asked for pictures of cakes they had made-- and they were not able to produce any. For the price they quoted us, no reviews to go by, and nothing to really impress us with, we decided to go with The Pastry Garden for our wedding cake. We enjoyed the experiencing with them of having a formal tasting and seeing their designs.

When I told Phil that I decided to use The Pastry Garden for our cake, I was taken aback when he bitterly responded that I should let all our wedding guests know that the cake is not his because he would not want to "tarnish" his reputation by having people think he made a Pastry Garden cake (as if our guests really care?!) His lack of professionalism and poor attitude really struck me and it made me begin to regret my decision having gone with him. His attitude towards us certainly changed after that. I did not let it get to me too much.. but it certainly was a predictor of things to come.

On the day of the wedding, there was much disorganization. For example, the staff set up the tables with no dance floor. But somehow, everything came together. As expected, nothing was above and beyond. The staff were generally not overly helpful. The DJ helped us with the cake cutting, rather than the maitre d etc. I put a plate of desserts in the backroom for the staff to wrap up for my husband (handmade vegan truffles I had specially ordered from a chocolatier and picked up the morning of the wedding!)and the staff ate them all!...

The food overall was good and we were happy with that. I gave the staff the highest recommended tip, because who's really not going to be happy on their wedding day?! And of course, I hadn't realized yet about the missing truffles which I was disappointed my husband didn't even get to try!

I emailed Phil following the wedding that one of the waitstaff were missing. It didn't cause any problems but we were aware that we were suppossed to have four servers, and only three were present and we wanted him to know this. No response.

Later, the bill came and we were a bit stunned to see that even with less guests than quoted on our proposal, our bill was around $500 more. Not only was the additional staff person (who was not there) included on the bill, but the hours the staff were there had increased (and since we were at the venue all day and stayed there overnight, we knew when the staff arrived and left!) The rental bill went up significantly with few changes. We couldn't why we were not made aware of a price increase like this beforehand, as stated in our contract!

When I brought these concerns up to Phil, and asked him about the additional waitstaff not present, he responded that he didn't feel as if this question was worth answering. Aren't all clients questions worth answering?! Especially when they are paying you $8,000 for a dinner?! He claimed that the additional staff member was there, the rental prices were accurate, etc., etc. and I realized it was just going to be a case of he said/she said. The reality is it would be very hard to prove any of the concerns we had. And I realized people like this just take advantage of the fact that it is your wedding and you're busy--and they can just get away with whatever they want. It is at their discretion really how they want to charge you.

Phil offered to go over the details of the bill etc., but to be honest I wanted him out of our lives already. I knew he was not going to try work with us and had no desire to make us happy. So I paid the bill and left it at that. No confirmation from him as to having received it or anything, I just saw the amount deducted from the account.

There's nothing I can do but make other brides out there aware of our bad experience and steer them away. There were very few reviews I was able to locate online for this caterer, and decided to just wing it with them. If I could do it again, I probably would have gone with Pamela's Travelling Feast (who Phil had initially steered us away from when I told him we were considering her) or Fitzergerald's Fine Catering who have phenomenal reviews and offer all their rentals in with their costs!

Brides, feel free to email me with any questions. I have all the correspondence emails in my inbox.

Bridge Creek Catering responded with the following comments:

Here is an email I received from the bride following the wedding:
Thanks, Phil.

Everything was great. Everyone loved the food. We were very happy with everything. No real complaints... I did save a plate of truffles for Jason that he did not get to try and left it in the wait staff room in the back to get wrapped. I didn't specifically tell anyone this though and the staff must have thought it was for them and ate it... no big deal since it was my fault for not telling them. Also, we were expecting 4 servers, but it worked out just fine with the 3 [actually there were 4]. Nick the bartender was a big hit with everyone! And we were pleasantly surprised to see Justine cheffing. Thanks for the well wishes.

Speak to you soon!

Kim

I was just made aware today (7/5/11) of this unhappy review. I am so sorry Kim ended up feeling bad enough to have to write a review like this. She was very challenging and hard to please - one of those people that are pre-disposed to being unhappy. And she did not tell me she was upset about not getting a second tasting, and not being able to sample a variety of cake flavors. Though if she had, I'm not sure I would have accommodated her.

That is because Kim was the type of client that wanted more for less, and but then it wouldn't be what she wanted anyway. Eventually she wore me down, and towards the end I was impatient and short with her.

She assumed from the beginning I would charge her more than contracted. She was questioning little things all along. Her parent's were the same way. I was prepared to go over the final bill in detail and help her understand it, but she decided she would rather just complain about it than understand it. And she did pay in full, and gave the staff a good tip.

I feel bad I couldn't make her happy, but I don't think anybody could.

Please look up other reviews on us posted out there. This is the only bad one I have heard of.

And feel free to contact us if you have any specific concerns or questions.

Thank you for your attention.

Phil Leger
