This photography team was simply put -- amazing. They have a great eye for capturing the images you'll want to hang onto for a lifetime. We loved working with these guys, and they felt like part of the family. The photos are so great! I purchased so many for Christmas presents and can't wait to see them all and how the family likes them. We definitely made the right decision when going with Chris Ellis Photography!

I spent over a third of my wedding budget for my pictures and chose this photogapher for his creativity and the wonderful images I saw in his gallery. However, I chose not to go outside and have pictures taken in the 100+ degree heat or see my husband prior to the ceremony. The creativity is not there for ANY of my pictures... they are all posed and don't show my personality nor my bridesmaids personalities. There are no pictures of my mom and I, which I find particulary devastating since she was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Not only that, but he was rude and condescending while corresponding with my mother, myself, and my husband. We were married in June and did not receive our album (which is not a typical album it's very small and almost like a scrapbook of images which I'm sure a lot of people like, but was not what I expected) until mid October and my mother and grandmother did not receive their albums until the second week of November. His personality might mesh well with others, but it did not work well with us in the end and as a bride I did not feel he made me or my family a priority.

I was please with the photos, but several shots that I had requested were not taken (although everyone was there that should have been). Although taking our formal photos before the wedding was more relaxing, we ran pretty short on time. Had I been told that I needed to be ready earlier this would have alleviated that problem.

I was never uncomfortable while we took pictures and Chris was very sensitive to make sure of that during getting ready pictures.

Overall, I was relatively pleased until after our wedding. Our online gallery was promptly posted, but I was SHOCKED to find out that the print prices had significantly increased ($5 for a 4x6 when I booked in July vs. $17 in October?!). What was so sickening was that I had no way of knowing that the prices had skyrocketed. When I booked, they were posted on the website. Later, they were taken off so that you could only see them when you logged into your gallery--AFTER the wedding!! Thank goodness I was allowed to purchase the copyright (at an outrageous price compared to other photographers), but was told not to advertise it. I understand making a profit, that's really not the way to do it.

I don't see how that's being a blessing in any way, shape, or form.

Chris Ellis Photography responded with the following comments:

I am really sorry that you feel this way, especially since this is the first time I am hearing about it. Wow!

The total cost of photography for this wedding was a $900 package, $450 of which went towards print credit. This particular bride opted to purchase a DVD with all of their images for an additional $900 minus the print credit of $450. Overall cost for the wedding day coverage and all 618 images was $1350. For this area, that would definitely be considered a blessing by most brides.

The weird thing is, this bride told me "You are not charging enough for what you do."

This was a sweet couple and a beautiful wedding, but your photographer is not a wedding coordinator. He/she is not responsible for getting people to the pictures to being taken (explained in contract). No photographer can possibly capture every single image that is potentially desired, and I explained this in my contract.

If you do the math, she received all of her images for a little over $2.00 each and she can print them in any size she desires.

This is definitely a learning experience for me. I will make sure with my current brides and future brides that when they sign that contract that we go over it in detail and there won't be any miscommunications.
