Disclaimer: The event manager I liaised with is no longer with Ciao Trattoria. While planning my wedding, the company underwent a split and staff was being moved around. So I ended up dealing with another event manager 2 weeks before my wedding. But the original event manager did a good handover so there wasn't anything to freak about. The only thing that was sad for me was that I wasn't able to reward him with a tip for his work since he's no longer with the company.

Ceremonies and Receptions is held in the Fine Arts Building next to Ciao Trattoria. The 1920s Romanesque Revival architecture is unique in LA. My family and friends love the place too! Rental for venue alone was $500 in 2008. There is a mezzanine level which is good for cocktail hour and the ground floor can be used for ceremonies or receptions. Note that if you do use the space for both ceremony and reception, reception tables are pushed to the side during ceremony. A little unsightly in my opinion. But the gorgeousness of the venue and affordability made up for it.

There is a bathroom in the building itself so that is convenient but there is no changing room for the bridal party. So you have to get a hotel room nearby. Food catered by Ciao Trattoria was passable but they are very accommodating with changes. I wanted soup to replace the salad and served in a martini glass. They did that for me at no extra charge. I did have an altercation with the event manager on some extra charges that wasn't communicated. But since they had been so accommodating with our requests, we just paid up.

Service was alright. Water was filled and food was out on time. They also didn't rush us out of the building. There is valet parking for your guests.
