The Crowne Plaza/Natick is a poor choice of venue for an event that you care about. We signed a contract in April, 2012 for an date in January, 2013, and left a sizable deposit. In the interim we had several conversations with them about details. So we were shocked, just a couple of months before the event, when the Crowne Plaza told us they'd decided not to host our event after all. When we pointed out that dozens of our guests had already booked travel to Boston, they expressed absolutely no concern or sympathy, and indeed they were downright nasty on the telephone. Once it became clear that they weren't going to change their minds, we launched a frantic (and, thankfully, successful) search for another venue nearby --- but trust me, this is not the kind of stress you want to be facing two months before your wedding. To add insult to injury, the Crowne Plaza dragged its feet about returning our deposit, and absolutely refused to pay interest, despite having held our money for over six months. These people are not to be trusted with anything, let alone one of the most important days of your life.

We only had our reception here.

The catering manager I worked with, Rick Maple, was absolutely amazing. He was on top of everything and always sounded upbeat and happy to hear from me on the phone and in person. Very genuine, nice guy who got things done - he should get an A+ along with the day-of wedding coordinator they gave us, Linda, who was always there making sure things got done.

Only a few minor issues - they promised our cocktail hour would be roped off, since it was in the main lobby of the hotel. This was not done. Also, there were 2 bar mitzvahs going on at the same time and guests from those parties were overlapping into the lobby during the cocktail hour and a few even got drinks (or tried to at least) from our open bar. Not too cool since we were paying. Also, we had to walk through THEIR cocktail hour to get in and out of the photo room. It was pretty chaotic during this time and not clearly marked so many people were confused. Once we were in the room for the event, everything was fine.

For our Room Block at the Hotel:
I went through 2 different Sales Managers for this which is I guess, not uncommon. Our room block was set up and throughout the process guests had a terrible time making reservations with the block through the main Crowne Plaza line. They were told the room block was full when it wasn't and that there was nothing that could be done (NOT TRUE!). People who called the hotel directly were ok. A few days (yes days) before the wedding I ended up having to get in touch with all the guests since I had heard through the grapevine that some were denied rooms at the room rate (nobody wanted to tell me this directly since they didn't want to bother me). So, I had to have everyone let me know if they got a room not at the rate so their reservation could be switched over to the correct rate. Ridiculous, annoying and many of my e-mails to the sales team were "lost" or ignored.

Based upon pure numbers, we realized we had to go out of the city... but we still wanted to be close to everything. Situated in a perfect location, easy to access, it is right across the street from the completely renovated Natick Mall with a BRAND NEW Nordstroms... where I got my make-up done hours before the ceremony, as well as a long list of restaurants to pick from.
The service was great, before and during the event... I can't say much for after the ceremony because the parents took care of the bar bill, but the Hotel has a great wedding package that you can alter... that includes band, flowers (1 dozen roses at each table), photographer and videographer, wedding cake and limo to and from our pictures before the ceremony. We decided to pick a different band and got a decent credit and found our own 7-piece bargain band.
Overall, wonderful... Rick Maple was our coordinator, very patient! 2 thumbs up! :)
