I was hesitant about shopping at David's Bridal based on other reviews I had seen. HOWEVER, the customer service at this location was great! I made my appointment online and they called to confirm a few days before. I found my dress here and love it so much! The alterations process went great and I am happy with my overall experience here. My mother also purchased her dress here.

I would like to send a big thank you to Mae, my sales lady. She is bubbly, patient, and a problem solver. I realize having bride(zilla)s try on dresses all day can be really stressful. I was expecting someone to be short-tempered and uninterested. Instead, I got Mae! She is anything but that. She is always cheerful and helpful. It’s like she hits the reset button with each customer. She was such a joy to work with.

She helped me choose a dress that was not only pretty with a beautiful lace back, but the structure of the dress helped me stand up tall on my special day.

ALTERATIONS:
Unlike most women, I have big boobs and small hips. Cinda is a problem solver. She is very talented and deeply knows how to alter the dress where it is not only ideal in form but flattering to the figure. Beyond her expertise, it is really her personality that shines through. She is eager to please to make sure the bride is very happy. Just looking at her demeanor, you would never guess she was dealing with constant deadlines and stressed-out brides all day long. Cinda added to the happiness of my day.

**Note: be prepared to leave room in the budget for alterations. Alterations make the dress. That being said, they can get very pricey quickly, and every request was an add-on. I ended up paying about $300 in alterations. I had to get a dress that was 2 sizes too big to accommodate my boobs. With that, we had to alter the remainder of the dress (waist and hips) to fit my figure.

My bridal appointment at the Riverside, CA store went very well. I had two appointments and had two attentive consultants. The only problem I had was with my bridesmaids appointment. It started out good but the consultant only pulled a couple of dresses and then disappeared. She my girls and I had to pull the rest of our dresses for our appointment. I had 3 bridesmaids and 1 junior bridesmaid and I was hoping to put them all in the same dress. I was able to do that but was a little frustrated when the consultant pulled junior dresses when I specifically asked her not to because it would be a waste of time. I didn't like any of the junior dresses and didn't want to waste time trying any of them on the junior bridesmaid. My alterations gal, Cinda from the Burbank store, was a miracle worker!!! Not only on my dress but my maid of honor's dress too. And, Cinda took the time to do a French bustle (I think that is what it is called) instead of the traditional run-of-the-mill bustles that most alterations people will do because the French bustle looked best on my dress.

Horrible experience from David's Bridal. The staff consultant was uninterested in helping me. She just grab the dress and hang it to the closet. No help in terms of getting into the dress. I didn't end up liking any dresses in there.

I only went to David's Bridal because I was at the nearby IKEA and saw the store from the freeway. I thought why not, I had a seen a gown in a bridal mag from their Galina collection that I liked. Let me just say it is not the same high end experience that the fancy boutiques give you. It's more like a gown warehouse and many were pretty yucky. However, I had a really funny and service oriented sales associate help me. We quickly found the gown I saw in the bridal mag and I picked out a few more super simple gowns. Four or five gowns in, I finally tried on THE GOWN. It is a heavy ivory satin strapless dress, with a slight sweetheart neck, trumpet skirt, and small train. I added a cummerbund style obi-sash in same ivory color as the gown. It fit perfectly and looked way more expensive than it was. I bought it right there and then. I got the elegant, simple, and tasteful gown I was dreaming of at 1/10th the price I was prepared to pay. WOW!! I had been to a few fancy boutiques and tried dresses on. If you're looking for high design you won't find it at David's. But for a simple gown like mine, it was so similar in every dimension (fabric quality, fit, etc.) to other dresses I had tried on for 10-15x the price, I could not walk away.

I never thought I would enter a david's bridal, let alone purchase my dress there. I'm no longer a hater. It ended up being a great place. I was in the store for about 20 minutes and the first dress I tried on was the one I purchased. You should definitely ask about their sales. I could have waited a little longer for the price to go down by 20%. I'm not complaining though since it was only $375. Many people complimented it and were surprised that it was from david's bridal. Several people thought the dress was around $1000.

My mom suggested we look at David's Bridal for my wedding dress and I moaned a little. "Davids Bridal? Soooo tacky!!" But she said it can't hurt to look, "you never know". I decided to listen. You know what? It wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined. The Burbank store is HUGE and new and nice. The sales associates were very helpful and had me flip through their catalog and tag the dresses I liked. This was a very easy way to weed out the "uber tackies" as I like to call them and actually find some pretty stylish dresses. Then my consultant, Laura, brought the dresses I flagged out, helped me get into them and clipped them for me. She didn't rush me, was not pushy, and even let me take pictures. She also was very knowledgeable about the dresses. In the end I found two I liked, and though neither is "the one" I am now convinced you can find a decent dress there, and the prices, for the most part, are pretty reasonable! I will say though, that after trying on dresses at La Soie in Torrance, I can totally see how David's Bridal dresses are not quite of "top quality" when it comes to fabrics. lace and bead work, and construction/cut. Plus on of my favorite dresses at Davids was $800, and I found a much much better dress at La Soie for $1050. Personally, I'd shell out the $250 extra for a top quality designer dress... But to each her own.

Like many of the other brides I only stopped by David's Bridal on a lark and ended up buying my dress on that trip. I had visited 5 bridal shops before that, from a Vera Wang collection to discount designer dresses to a outlet of sorts. I liked David's bridal the best because they really have everything and for a reasonable price (mine was only $400). They don't pressure you like other discount stores and the price (not including the expensive alterations) isn't in the thousands for a dress that ended up looking wonderful. Also the salesperson that helped me actually picked out the dress I ended up buying saying I just had to try it (even though by description it was not at all what I was looking for), and once I tried it on I just told my bridesmaid... I think this is it. I got alterations done here.. which I would suggest you go elsewhere if you have any recommendations. The first time I came to pick it up at the appointed time (you can only pick it up M, W, F) they said it was going to take another hour, however I stopped out at lunch to pick it up and so I had to reschedule the pick up. (If I didn't end up taking time off before the wedding this would have been a major hassle). Also I thought it was a bit expensive because the dress fit me perfectly I only needed a bustle and a hem and that cost almost $200. (I'm not sure how much it should cost but it seemed a bit high)

My wife went to David's Bridal in Burbank and came home with a beautiful dress after 1 day of trying on dresses, and she looked beautiful in her dress and nobody would have known where she got it. It was a great price, and the people there were very nice and helpful. She was very happy with her dress, even though it did not cost a fortune. We would recommend it to anyone.

I tried on gowns from about 4 various shops, including David's. The ease and simplicity of David's was one of the determining factors to purchasing my dress there, as well as a fantastic price. My gorgeous dress was only $550! One of the best parts about going with a dress from David's was that I could try on several styles while in California with my mom, then head back to Portland and model the top 2 options for a couple of girlfriends who helped to narrow it down. I was certainly not impressed with the other shops I checked out - their prices were way out of my budget, and some of their dresses had obviously been tried on by hundreds of young women for many years.

Yes I got my dress from David's Bridal. Didnt think I would. Went there just to look around and actually found a dress I loved for a a very low price. I got it in about 2 months. The staff was very attentive and helpful. So good experience all the way around. I am surprised because I have read so many bad reviews about them. Guess I got lucky.

The staff here was very friendly and helpful...my saleslady asked questions and seemed genuinely interested in helping me find what I was looking for. However, in the end, I did not end up buying my dress here. While the prices are great...I also believe you get what you pay for. The fabrics looked and felt cheap and there is just that "assembly line" feel in the place. Not to mention ever since I went there I am mysteriously getting a ton of unsolicited phone calls from bridal vendors attached to David's. Ugh.

I got my bridesmaids' dresses from the Burbank location. One BM and I went on a particularly busy Sunday afternoon with no appointment...but since we were just there to size a dress we'd already picked out, they let us hop into a room and get it done without waiting for hours. The dresses were scheduled to come in 2 months, and they came in one month. I had nothing but a fabulous experience with the Burbank store for BM dresses.

I never thought I would buy my dress from David's Bridal. After looking at a few high end salons, my mom suggested we go to David's Bridal. We went in on a Sunday afternoon and I called ahead about an hour in advance to see if they could take me in, and they were able to. The sales gal Mary was super helpful. I ended up finding a duplicate of a dress I had seen at a high end salon. It was also on sale that day, so I ended up buying the dress. They told me it would be take 6 months to come in. My dress actually came in within 4 months. However, when I went to pick up my dress I wanted to try it on to make sure everything fit. They weren't very helpful. No one wanted to help me put on this dress. Secondly, they dont steam your dress for free. The dress was super wrinkled, and they didnt offer a garment bag. Other than that, I loved my dress. I took it elsewhere to get altered because it was cheaper. Beware they will call you for a few months after you purchase something there to try and get you to buy more things. i.e. bridesmaid dresses

David's Bridal was crowded at my appointment time, but I got shown to a fitting room and selected several dresses out of the catalog to try on. I needed something off the rack -- I was shopping last minute because the Etsy dresses I'd ordered didn't fit, and the mom & pop boutiques only carry certain styles in certain sizes so my choices were limited. Luckily, at David's Bridal the inventory was available so I had plenty of options to try on. I thought David's Bridal would only have cookie cutter dresses, but I was pleasantly surprised to find "the one" there, and it fit my budget. Just not my boobs.

The bust needed to be let out, so my very friendly attendant flagged down the head of their alterations department to come check out what needed to be done and give me a quote. She was clearly stressed out, and pointed at several places I'd need a stitch put in, how much each would cost and the total. When I suggested I might like the dress to sit a little higher, she looked worried and said "you know, that would get expensive". Umm...the wedding dress is $300 cheaper than the ones I looked at elsewhere, I think I can get it altered to fit me properly, yes? Also isn't it your job to 'sell'? I don't care if each stitch costs $5, just tell me the total to get the job done so it looks amazing. She made it sound like each additional stitch was just a huge pain in her ass. But I got the David's Bridal financing and the alterations were included in that, so I went for it.

After the alterations I went for a fitting and the dress was....lumpy. The alterations department seemed like they did not have time to listen to me or do what I wanted, they seemed to think what they had done was perfectly fine. I needed to go elsewhere to get that perfect fit (the tailor I ended up using on the West Side took one look at the work and sighed, he'd seen their butchery many times before).

Shop till you drop, find "the dress", but do NOT have it altered at the store.

Read less

I have always heard horror stories from past brides who went to David's Bridal in Albuquerque, NM and I knew that once I got engaged it would be my last resort. But a friend suggested I try the one in Burbank, CA because there are different people. I am so glad I took her advice.
The Wedding Consultant I got paired up with was Rebecca. She is the most sweetest and patient woman I have ever met. When I made my appointment on the phone, I was advised to look online at the different styles that they carried and to create an account and select dresses I wanted to try on. So I did that and when I met with Rebecca, she already had my file and was ready to pull the dresses I had requested, very professional in my mind. After about 2 hours of trying on dresses, I couldn't find The One. Rebecca was still very patient and helpful. We scheduled a second appointment after Rebecca reassured me that I would find it and she was right! The second visit I found my dress!
Then I became picky about the color of the dress, off-white, white, cream, too many decisions. But the manager came by and said to try it in ivory and if I don't like it when it comes in, I could trade it for a different color. Amazed at his flexibility, I agreed to his offer, rang the "I found it" bell, and paid for the dress. When the dress came in, I tried it on and it was perfect.
I found my dress a year before my wedding, and like any other bride out there, I went straight to the gym and started dieting. When the time came for alterations I was nervous that I lost too much weight. The day before my appointment I called to see if I could possible switch the dress to a lower size. I was nervous because David's Bridal is strict on their "All Sales are Final" policy. But once again the manager was so easy going and flexible he said that it wouldn't be a problem. AMAZING SERVICE! I went in for the alterations and thankfully I maintained my weight and had small changes. The ladies in alterations were just as helpful!

I used David's Bridal in Burbank to order dresses for my bridesmaids. Although my gown was also David's Bridal, I purchased it through a charity and did not experience the service side of David's Bridal for my own gown. My wedding took place in a different state, where thankfully there was another location of David's Bridal because at the last minute one of my bridesmaids needed alteration to her dress. They took are of it for a surprisingly good price, and all was well for the wedding day.

Very friendly and helpful. I was able to bring the dress back a week before the wedding for a free steaming.

I loved it!!! They helped me from start to finish. Customer Service was excellent. Answered all my questions. Complimentary steaming for my dress a week before my wedding. What put the cherry on the top was 2 days before my wedding my maid of honor discovered she didn't fit in her dress, they told her to come in to see what they can do, since alteration was out of the question they allowed her to exchange the dress with out charging her a dime!!! So happy with their service xoxo
