First and foremost, I had an appointment for both days, yesterday (Tue 01/08/13) @ 5:30pm at the Brooklyn Location and today (01/09/13) @ 5pm at the Sixth Avenue Located in the City. Upon arrival at the Brooklyn Location, a young lady at the welcoming counter greeted me. I told her who I was and also informed her about my appointment. She seemed very pleasant, however, she started carrying on a conversation (unrelated to work "gossiping," while I was waiting to be attended to), I found this to be very unprofessional. She then apologized after my maid of honor said something to her. It took about 15mins before I was helped. They had assigned me to Ann Marie. At the beginning Ann Marie was a little despondent when I told her that I was uncertain about the type of dresses I wanted to try on. I verbalized a few ideas based on the dresses I saw online and she stated that "I did not do my home-work well." I was a bit thrown off by her remark because I did, I just did not make a decision in terms of which dress would fit best. For this reason, I went to David's Bridal. In the end, she turned out to be a nice lady.

Today, at the Sixth Avenue Location, I checked in at the front with Brianna. She asked me to have a seat and I did. Thirty minutes later, I noticed that there were a few people that came in after me and was seen before me. As a result, I walked up to the counter to inquire. Brianna assured me that I would be called in 3mins. Ten minutes later, Brianna has her coat on and walks out the store without saying a word to me. I walked up to the counter again, and the young lady who replaced Brianna said that someone was cleaning the room and I will be helped soon. Five minutes later, my mom asked for the Supervisor. The Supervisor was very apologetic. When she questioned the young lady at the welcome desk, she stated that she had no idea that i had an appointment. She had also lied to me, because the manager found out that none of the attendants knew i was waiting.

David's Bridal was a great experience for me. I was able to schedule my bridal appointment online and going into the store with ease. My bridal consultant was very nice and knowledge. I went to my appointment alone for good reasons that I didn't want to many opinions and my maid of honor lives out of town. I knew what I wanted but she made sure that I didn't have leave with dress remorse or envy for choosing my first dress. I love love my dress.

Loved my wedding dress from David's Bridal, but I experienced some challenges in the process of getting to wear it on my big day.

I had looked a few other places and felt overwhelmed by prices and options. I ended up going with a dress that was strapless (not what I had originally planned) but the salesperson had a great eye and helped me, while not letting the process get stressful. So the sales experience was good.

The downside was that, while the dress was on sale and under $950 dollars, there were added costs ($200) for alterations, and then added costs for undergarments (slip, bustier). So what was reasonable ended up costing a bit more, and I wish they had told me this, as I was getting alterations done. I had to get the dress altered twice, because it didn't fit right and my dress was missing the hook-eye in the back. In the end, they came through, but I was stressed, as this came down to the week before my wedding. If you're doing alterations, I would recommend Roya.

David's Bridal is not a boutique wedding salon, but it has lots of dresses. Just be sure to think ahead about the added costs (alterations, accessories) when putting together your budget, and be sure to ask questions as you go about the process.

Honestly, I've never been "traditional," and never imagined fining my dream dress at DB. I had a vision of a $10,000 artsy gown by a French designer in my head that I knew I would never own. I searched high and low for any gown that was similar, including boutiques, department stores, prom dress shops- you name it. One day, I gave in and did some on-line browsing of the DB site. I actually found a similar style to the dress I had been dreaming of for less than $200! I ordered it one size bigger than what I normally wear, and when it arrived it fit almost perfectly. I took it to the DB store on 25th Street and 6th Ave in Manhattan and had the tailors there hem it for me and add a bustle for another $90. It is a very busy store, but everyone was friendly and professional. I had to have have it hemmed again after my first fitting for no additional charge, and I walked away one happy bride. Bottom line is don't dismiss DB as being cookie cutter: they offer a huge selection of dresses in a wide price range. Hey, you never know.

I had my reservations about going to David's Bridal after seeing their reviews on Yelp, but living in NYC and finding an affordable wedding dress that wouldn't break the bank was not easy, so I decided to go here. I first worked with Terra, who was really good at what she did. She was easy-going, relaxed, and really attentive. The second time I went to try on dresses with my mom, the sales associate was also really good and we finally ordered the dress. Here is where the trouble started. When my dress came in, it was a size 16 instead of a 10. They actually asked me to try it on anyway and I decided to humor them. I was swimming in the dress. Once I went to take off the dress, the sales associate was nowhere to be found, so I left it in the room because I wasn't told what to do with it. I then went up to the front counter, and wasn't told what was going on, and after 20 minutes of waiting like an idiot, they had reordered the dress and rushed it.

The alteration process went well, but on my wedding day, the bustle which cost so much had broken in two places. There were also issues with one of my bridesmaid's dresses when she got it altered at DB, where when they handed it back to her she was told that they messed up the zipper (aren't you supposed to fix that since, I don't know, you're the seamstress?). All in all, I do not recommend DB, as they can not appropriately conduct business and mess up a lot. Not fun.

First off let me start by saying, I had an Awesome Consultant at the NYC location on 26 street when I went shopping for my dress . She was polite, professional and lots of fun. I walked in and showed her a picture of what I wanted and she bought me a dress that looked exactly like the picture. She showed me three more dresses similar to the pic but she saved the best one for last. When I put it on, I knew it was my dress and so did everyone else in the store. Thanks Yelisse, Keep up the good work

I got my dress at David's Bridal in NYC. I've been to two. The one in Kansas City was very attentive and professional and I'm sorry I wasn't in town to do business with them. This review is for the New York store. The store on 6th Ave in NYC has a lot to be desired. I've always had to wait 20 minutes or more for a pre-scheduled appointment. The attendants seemed overbooked and too busy to be of much help.

I ended up trying on and buying a dress I found myself in the catalog. All that being said, David's bridal is very affordable compared to all the other dress shopping I did. Since they're a national chain, they usually have the dress in stock. Other stores promise it to you in 5-8 months. I had my dress in a week. It was beautiful and high quality and came in my size, so there were no alterations. They also honored an online only promo code I'd been e-mailed that day, so the dress was even cheaper than anticipated.

The other downside to shopping at David's Bridal is that they sell your info. I was getting bombarded with e-mails and phone calls from different vendors, most of which were not even in the same state.

First of all, while I did originally shop at David's Bridal in New York City, I also bought some things at other stores across the country due to my destination wedding. This review is more for David's Bridal as a whole than specifically for the NYC location.
I had kind of promised myself not to buy my wedding dress at David's Bridal b/c I had some preconceptions about what DB would be like. I am so glad I decided to give it a shot. I found a dress I loved (and that other people gave me endless compliments on) for a third of what a similar dress would have cost me elsewhere. My wedding dress was beautiful, well-made, and unique. Furthermore, buying a dress through DB opened up discounts and rewards to many other services, not limited to but including Men's Wearhouse, Premium Blooms flowers, discounts on bridesmaids dresses, etc. I decided to buy all my bridesmaids, jr. bridesmaids, and flower girl dresses from DB as well, and I love what I found. You kind of have to keep an eye out for the style you like as many of the styles change frequently throughout the year.
Service-wise, my experience really varied. There were some consultants who made me feel incredibly special and excited, not only for my big day, but for my DB experience as well. And yet, other staff members seemed relatively unprofessional and/or were too busy to give me the level of attention/care required for a great experience. The NYC tends to be very busy, so make an appointment! The other reason for my lowered score on "professionalism" is that several of my bridesmaids ordered dresses under my account name (although they payed for themselves and gave their info.) I got several calls telling me "my" dress was ready to be picked up in so and so state. I felt they should have called the bridesmaid directly. They also did not automatically ship things as told to so and had to be reminded. Other than that, I am very pleased with my DB experience, and I would (and already have) recommend!

Purchasing the dress at David's Bridal was a good experience. Our salesperson was professional and helpful. She focused just on the bride and what she wanted. We found the dress and all of us rang the bell and cried with joy.

But be careful, if you need to buy a bra, buy it well in advance. They didn't tell us that. Alterations are expensive and they are not very flexible on dates. Talk to the manager of the store or the head of alterations.

At the checkout counter, there were many brides in tears, complaining about the dress and how it fit or the alterations and the cost. Buy what you want, ask about alterations and you will be fine.

If you are a smart buyer, you will be a happy bride.
