I bought my dress from David's Bridal. I have to say that I am very disappointed. I knew I was not getting a high quality dress but it fit my budget. I was really upset when we had to pay 100% for the dress before they would even order it. They are also really pushy about accessories, shoes, and appointments for bridesmaids, mother of the bride, and photography. They took an exciting day and made it into a stressful and pressured day. The benefit was that the dress came in in under 4 weeks. But they required me to pick it up with-in 3 to 5 days of them receiving it. I happened to be out of town, so they told me I had to send someone. So my maid of honor went. When she picked up my dress they were not even going to give her a garment bag we had to pay $10.70 for a bag. Then when I finally got to see the dress their was pulls and stands of lace hanging off. When I called to tell David's Bridal about it they could not have cared and told me to have one of their alterations professionals look at it.

They also gave my information to other affiliates now I am receiving text messages and phone calls from people trying to get me to buy additional products and services. David's Bridal is a factory. They do not care about their brides or the experience. They will also nickle and dime you for everything. When I talked to alterations about some minor alterations, tightening the straps, hemming, ect. they were going to charge me almost as much as I paid for the dress. I am so unhappy with David's Bridal really wish I would have bought my dress at East West Bridal in Secaucus, NJ they knew what they were doing and made you feel so special.

David's Bridal in Paramus were extremely helpful and very sweet. Not only did I use them for my own wedding and bridesmaids dresses, but my best friend did as well. My mom even bought her own gown there as well. Zoe is the funniest saleswoman and is a great help. I highly recommended them. The only advice is to get it hemmed elsewhere as their prices for that are a little expensive.

The only nice thing I have to say about David's Bridal is I loved my dress and my girls dresses...there were issues from the second I walked in there until the night before my wedding...from sales all the way to alterations...I would not step foot in a Davids Bridal EVER again.

The sales reps were great ... but once the dress was paid for that was an entirely different story. The women in the alteration department were very snotty and unprofessional!!!! I loved the dress but not the people who sold it to me....and after $1000 they gave me a free bottle of Pantene shampoo and conditioner (trial size) thanks david's bridal....great doing business with you :(

My experience with David's Bridal of Columbia, SC was very mixed. I went to look for a wedding dress one afternoon and was matched with a consultant who was a wonderful help. She loved that I had chosen several different styles and encouraged me to react to each dress first rather than any of my guests or her in order to see what the bride-to-be wanted. It was a wonderful time and the last dress I tried on that day was "the one" and a great price! After a good day, the end was a bit unprofessional as the consultants then rang up everything they had put on me that day from veils (two different ones) and hair pieces without asking me about which additional pieces I wanted to purchase. When trying on garments, I was told the undergarments matched particular dress styles and would have to be purchased with the dress but that the veils and other pieces were just to help me see what the eventual total look could be if I eventually wanted to add each down the road. Yet, a week after I went to the store, I realized that there were extra pieces in the bag that they had placed in my hair and on veils that were these "additional-just-to-see" items and I had paid for them! They then would not take them back because they said that after walking out of the store with them, I had accepted them! I ended up not wearing a few of the pieces I purchased including the second veil which was a total waste of money. Make sure you know what the are ringing up because they may do the same thing and ring everything up while you are changing.
I loved the dress and wanted the alterations done within a budget and so I did do alterations there and this was a great experience! They did not push me to order a dress that was not my size so when my dress came in it was a perfect fit and did not need much alterations except the train and bustle. They were quick and professional and at the final fitting, each store consultant had to come in to double check the work and the manager also came to ask me privately about my alterations experience which was nice after the purchasing problem I had when buying the dress. Overall, the David's Bridal experience had good and bad moments. My best advice is to watch the consultant and check the receipt when you leave, to make sure they did not add items you happened to put on at some point in your wedding dress search that maybe you did not want or need.

I've heard nightmare stories about David's Bridal. All in all, I loved my dress and I had a no-fuss experience with the store in Paramus on Rt 4.

Word of advice - go on a weekday. I went on a Tuesday and got undivided attention from many of the sales consultants. I went back on a Saturday just to pick up my veil and couldn't get anyone's attention.

David's Bridal has a ton of inventory. I took my dress home the same day. The alterations is a little pricey in my opinion, so I just took my dress to a local seamstress who did it for a fraction of the cost.

My consultant was so-so. Not warm and friendly, but knowledgeable about her stock. It was a little annoying everytime she said "this will be YOUR dress" and then I would put it on and hate it.

In summary - great inventory, great prices, and the service is hit or miss depending on your consultant and day of the week.

I bought a beautiful dress off the rack after discussing all the changes that could be made in order to make it fit exactly as I'd hoped. When I got to the alterations fitting, I found out that most of those changes could NOT be made. Plus, broken threads holding bustles (that were there when I purchased it off the rack) would cost extra. The alterations were not finished as specified and I decided not to push it anymore in order to avoid extra stress.

I purchased my girls dresses and they did a good job. They were reasonably priced and looked good. The flower girl dresses they ordered originally were incorrect, but they corrected it and there were no more problems. I bought my dress in Colorado, but had them do my alterations in SC. After some serious disucussion, they were able to accomodate me, but not without some tears and with some serious arguement. They are also very expensive. I dont reccomend them for everything, but they can accomodate last minute issues, and are affordable for almost every budget.

David's bridal was great for buying my wedding dress. I made an appt. and had a lady helping me with dresses (a little short, fiery woman!) However, when my bridesmaids tried on dresses / ordered them, they weren't organized at all. They didn't order them all together & even waited until the dress was discontinued (which apparently happesn often) to order the last girls dress. BIG PROBLEM! Not only did this happen for my wedding, it happened for a wedding that I am in in a couple of months! I wouldn't recommend the David's Bridal in Greenville.

If it weren't for the fact that the bridesmaids were scattered, I wouldn't have picked David's for the dresses. They have a great selection, many of which look good on a variety of body types, and you don't need an appointment to try on dresses, but the service is usually lacking. The Paramus store is no exception. We couldn't find anyone to help us find dresses for our local girls. However, the staff also seemed fine with the fact that we were constantly pulling out dresses and leaving them in the dressing room. In the end, this location ordered the right dress in the right size and color, which is more than I can say for a couple of my bridesmaids in other cities. What it lacks in service, it makes up for in convenience.

I guess when you don't go to a small designer bridal shop, you have to deal with the consequences of dealing with a "super store". They were difficult to make alteration appointments with, very limited availability. They were too opinionated, and distracted easily.

I bought my dress from the David's Bridal in Augusta, GA, before there was one in Harbison. I mainly went there thinking I wouldnt' buy a dress from there, but try on lots of dresses and determine the cut and style I would be looking for. However, while there I found my dress and got it that day. I had a great experience from purchase to final fitting.
