Disc Jockey Services is a professional DJ business providing both music and entertainment for your wedding event and we are no more expensive than other professional DJ companies. Disc Jockey Services is a member of the American Disc Jockey Association which has a code of ethics that we adhere to so you can be asure of getting a competent DJ for your event. We work with our clients to customize their events in order to give them exactly what they want. Our music goes from the 40's to the present day. We meet with the bridal couple to go over all the details and work with an extensive questionnaire to help minimize misunderstandings so your event comes off problem free. Our knowledge of music is second to none and we can help with suggestions with those special songs for your wedding. Give is a call, let's talk. Read less

What music genres are in your collection?
50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, Acoustic, Big Band, Classic Rock, Classical, Country, Dance, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Motown, Oldies, Orchestra, Pop, Punk Rock, R&B, Rock, Soul, Swing, World
Do you have liability insurance?
Describe your DJ style:
My style is interactive and is based on the brides request from very interactive to none. That is determined during a bridal meeting.
What is your usual attire?
That is determined by the couple. From tuxedos to causal depending on their wants.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
No, we usually have or can get most songs, but on occasion if it is a difficult song to find, then we ask the couple to provide us with the song.
How many other DJs do you work with?
Depending on the occasion and the services another DJ may be needed to help.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
There really is no minimun. If the client is willing to pay the cost we play whatever time they want.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Yes. We encourage a meeting , but if we can't, the least is an in depth conversation on the phone and then e-mail correspondance.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
We carry ethnic music for most events and if we don't have all the music that they want, the bride and groom can provide us with those specific songs. We have done Brazilian, Jewish, Italian, Iranian, Indian and Latin.
Can the client submit a do-not-play list?
Absolutely, in this day and time it is as important as the list of songs TO play. We carry no profane versions of any songs in our library.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes, all professional DJ equipment plus all digiital library, CD's, MP3s and I'm equiped to play ipods if someone has a song they want played from their personal I-pod.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
Lighting, disco balls, fog machine, bubble, costumes
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
I like a minimum of 2 hours and more if there is additional lighting to be brought in.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
Only if additional lighting is brought in, other than that, no.
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?
We have both, but no longer use them at weddings but use them at other events if permitted
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
Yes, we emcee the reception, but the patter is based on what the client wants.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
No, unless the bridal couple insist and then the DJ does not eat in the same room as the reception. We don't take breaks, we play continuous music unlike bands. This is one of the biggest advantages of hiring a DJ.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Since there are no breaks there would not be needed , but if there were a case yes, we would have music for that break.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, if anything happens to the DJ and he cannot attend then the bride is notified as soon as this is known to us and a replacement is found and if the bride does not want the replacement, they can pick their own and the deposit is returned.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?
We have not in the 10+ years of business
What is your overtime rate?
$125.00 an hour or $75.00 for 1/2 hour
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
That varies also in distance, but mileage is only charged one-way.
What is the required deposit to secure your services?
We ask for 50% down upon the signing of the contract and the remainder paid before the wedding reception.

Larry Bernstein was the DJ for our wedding. The service was fantastic and he really tried to accommodate our various musical tastes. Larry worked very well with the hotel staff and everyone else involved in the wedding. Usually, no one wants to start dancing at a wedding. During our wedding, people were dancing from the very beginning and they kept dancing all night. We highly recommend Disc Jockey Services.
