It pains me to have to give NY Edge a negative review, but it was the one aspect of our wedding that was not perfect. Throughout the wedding planning process, we were working with Rich, who was really nice and wonderful to work with. He was very detail oriented and just a nice guy in general to talk with about ideas and songs for our wedding. If only Rich could have been our DJ as well, I think I would be giving a perfect review. Unfortunately, on the day of our wedding Paul was our DJ. During our ceremony, we had a picture slide show to play before my entrance with my father. Instead of projecting the show from the front, he decided to project it from the back, which resulted in all the captions being inverted. He also didn't start the slideshow from the first slide, so all of my husbands baby pictures were missing and the show started from when he was a teenager. When I came down the aisle with my father, the DJ wasn't paying attention and the music continued to play even though we had reached the end of the aisle. We stood up at the alter not knowing what to do, just looking around at each other for a good minute until the song finally ended. After the ceremony, we spoke to him briefly about it and asked what happened. He told us he hadn't tested it and forgot he had to project the show from the front instead of the back. He then shrugged his shoulders and said, "My bad." There was no sincere attempt at an apology whatsoever. No more disasters happened for the rest of the night. The music that was played at the reception was good and we had a good number of people on the dance floor. However, when the party ended the DJ asked me if he could take one centerpiece home for his girlfriend. At the time, I thought it was a little unprofessional of him to be asking me if he could take our centerpieces, especially since he had messed up our ceremony, but I was in a good mood and said it would be ok if he took ONE. Unfortunately, I got complaints from some of my guests because our DJ walked away with THREE of our centerpieces, some of which my guests had put aside for themselves to take home. Overall, very unprofessional and not worth the money we paid.
