I would be very hesitant about using Doris as your florist. A deposit had been given to her & less than two months later, the wedding was called off. Details had only been briefly discussed & a contract was not signed. Everyone else who had been given deposits worked with us immediately. It took Doris 18 months to repay the money that was owed to us. She ignored letters from our lawyer and continually ignored emails from both my daughter and myself. Excuses of every kind were given. I was patient long enough but no client or potential client should be treated like this!

Doris was awesome to work with! She is so creative and has such great ideas. She also has over 25 years of experience which means she has done a ton of weddings, has a great staff and great connections with whoesalers. I was really indecisive about what I wanted, but luckily Doris came to the rescue with somewhere great ideas based on some inspiration photos I emailed her. I am an attorney and was studying for the bar when I first started wedding planning, and Doris made things really easy with email and convenient meeting times. I have already recommended countless people to Doris and will continue to send more work he way. My wedding was gorgeous and everyone really loved the flowers and chuppah we rented from Doris. She also provided the best quote out of the others I interviewees. Definitely great value and top service.

We searched all over to find a florist who would create my tropical paradise wedding dream, without sending us into bankruptcy. Then we found Doris, who was recommended to us by a friend. She showed me some pictures of different types of arrangements, to get an idea of what I wanted. When I told her I wanted tropical flowers, she was very excited, and told me that tropicals were her favorite thing to work with. I saw some pictures that I loved, and when I asked "Would this be something like what we would get?" Her response was "Yes, BUT BIGGER" where as all of the other florists we went to responded "yes, but without this, and without that, and a little smaller...." You can imagine how happy I was to find someone who was able to bring together my vision, and not completely empty our bank account. On my wedding day (only a few days ago) I can't even tell you how stunned I was at the beauty of Doris's work. The Chuppah was beyond my dreams, and my bouquet was gorgeous. When I saw my ballroom for the first time, it was like I stepped into Hawaii. So many unique and interesting flowers, all perfectly arranged with style and class. It was absolutely beautiful. I loved everything Doris did, and I would 1000% recommend her to everyone! If you don't believe me, I'll send pictures!

I booked Doris based on a previous wedding I had attended - the bride's bouquet was beautiful. Unfortunately that is not what I received for my own wedding.

I had no inclination, as to what would transpire on my wedding day as my initial meetings with her went pretty smoothly, we discussed our ideas, looked through pictures, etc....We had one mock-up meeting where we met to look at a sample of our floral centerpieces for the reception. I was not happy with the arrangement (too much greenery and filler), so we worked together until we were happy.

I wish we had done a mock-up for the ceremony florals – the boutonnieres, mother's bouquets (we did this instead of corsages), my bridal bouquet, and the bridesmaids' bouquets were a HUGE disappointment. They looked terrible.

The boutonnieres for the guys were so large; my husband had to trim them down on the spot. Even after that they looked very odd and out of place in the pictures.

The bridesmaids’ bouquets were on the opposite end of the spectrum -- so small they were embarrassing. They looked droopy, and were filled with greenery and filler, when they should have been simple calla lilies tied together. Worse, the ribbon wrapped around them did not look professional - it looked like the kind of ribbon you put on a birthday gift and it was not tied neatly.

The mother's bouquets, which should have been a single long calla lily, were extremely large and tied together with greenery sticking out in every direction. Our guests nicknamed them "the spears".

None of this compared to the bridal bouquet – I hated it. I had a vision of a bunch of white calla lilies French tied together with a little sparkle. What I received was calla lilies with bear grass filler all over it and huge leaves (look like the leaves you would see on a banana tree). I had my mother cut out much of the filler and greenery right before I walked down the aisle. Additionally the sparkle I had requested to be wrapped around the base was replaced with a silver bracelet that was not large enough to cover the entire bouquet so you could see the gaps.

At the reception, I had asked for my cake to be decorated based on a picture I had sent. Instead I received a large tropical bush hiding a very large portion of our cake.

After the wedding (about a week later), I called Doris the Florist to discuss what happened with the flowers. I was told she was too busy to speak to me since it was Valentine's Day weekend. I later tried to call her and e-mail her and have yet to receive a response (it's now almost May).

A few weekends ago, I actually paid another florist to create a new bouquet and had my photographer retake photos with the new set of flowers and the rings.

I would not recommend this florist to anyone.

I looked around at a few florists, and was disappointed by the response. It was tough to find someone who would listen to me, and try to find something that fit my personality (not their's). My first meeting with Doris was a much needed relief. She was listened to what I liked and the colors I wanted to go with, and was helpful in giving options. The price she gave was something I could handle, and that was it; I booked her.

We pretty much sorted out the flower selection during a second meeting, and ironed out the final quote. The final cost matched (it had to, I paid up front: 50% on booking, 50% 2 weeks before the event). Doris was a bit busy when I came in for the final payment, so I didn't get much of her attention, but I guess she had some other events she was trying to prepare for that day.

I had hoped to see Doris on the day of the wedding, but I never did. All of the flowers showed up a smidgen behind schedule (worried the wedding coordinator, but I was too busy too realize it until I saw the flowers show up - I'm not sure if a phone call had to be made).

The flowers were beautiful. Simple yellow roses and calla lillis. I got what I wanted: clean, simple beauty.

I initially met with Doris the Florist from Rio Vista Florist and liked her ideas and recommendations. Since I was an out of town bride, I booked her right away, a few months in advance, even though I didn't know exactly what flowers I wanted. A few weeks before the wedding I let her know exactly what I wanted and it was just a disaster from then on. First she wanted me to cross out the old flowers on the proposal, pencil in the new ones I wanted, snail mail her the document and then she would write up a new proposal. She told me the flowers I wanted weren't available, then offered no alternatives except roses, which is what I had wanted originally. Long story short, when my flowers showed up on my wedding day, I cried, I paid a lot of money for something I did not get. I was expecting a much larger bouquet than what I got and my bridesmaid’s bouquets were so small it was embarrassing. There was even hot glue in my bridal bouquet – some of the flower heads fell off because they had been put together with hot glue! And a flower I specifically said I did not want for boutonnieres was the only flower in there – Bells of Ireland, which most people who aren’t even florists know, do not do well outside of water, much less pinned to a man’s lapel at an outdoor wedding. Incredibly disappointing.
