I have to say, I really thought I was going to get great service based on reviews I've read on this place. The bottom line is, they're lovely people, and my flowers did turn out beautiful, but they caused ME huge stress a few days before my wedding day, and we ended up having to procure some of the flowers FOR them.

The long and short of it:
I met with Ediboro and two other florists, and chose this one because she seemed to know her stuff and was very friendly. With all three florists, I'd asked what flowers would be in season, since I knew that could be an issue with a December wedding, and among other things, all three said that roses and stephanotis would both be available, guaranteed.

So, I know stephanotis is expensive, but I wanted it just for my bouquet and my groom's boutineer because it was in my mom's bouquet when she and my dad got married - and just cause I think it's really, really beautiful. So my bouquet was white/ivory roses and stephanotis, and there were 11 bouts, four bouquets besides mine, a flower girl hair ringlet, two corsages, and various and sundry pew bows, etc.

The Monday before my (Saturday) wedding, I got a call from the florist. She can't get the stephanotis, it was out of season (WHAT?) and did I want her to use silk ones instead? I calmly told her that I'd come to a florist because I wanted real flowers, I could have done a silk arrangement myself, and I wanted the stephanotis. She said she'd call around and see what she could find.

Out of curiousity, I called another florist, who assured me they were available at the flower market in the city and if I needed, I could refer my florist to her to get them. Then, she wondered aloud if my florist might just have an overstock of the silk ones and wants to get rid of them - they're certainly cheaper than the real thing. At this point, I called my groom, because I started feeling like I was being scammed.

I don't know 100% of the details from here, because he worked hard to keep this from upsetting me further. What I do know is that Edinboro went back and forth, saying they could get them, they couldn't get them, they might be able to get them, etc. After minimal web searching, my groom found that he could order them from a website and get them on time for the florist to use them. At this point, I guess the florist was saying they absolutely couldn't get them, and so my guy ordered these from online and told the florist they'd have to repay him.

I did have the flowers I wanted on my wedding day. They were beautiful. But if this woman is truly a professional florist, SHE should have been able to find these, by whatever means (not my husband, who knows NOTHING about flowers), and I should have NEVER heard one peep about it. That's pretty crappy.

By the way, the bridesmaids bouquets were very pretty, but assembled kinda weird. The stems were pushed into this giant plastic tube (like as big around as a Coke can), and then the ends of the stems, which had been cut off, were shoved into the bottom of the same tube and they were falling out all night long. I had bought large vases for them to put their bouquets in at the reception and they didn't fit. And these vases were as big or bigger than most drinking glasses.

I guess I'd say if you really are very indifferent about flowers and want to keep your costs low and still have pretty arrangements, they're probably a good florist for you. But if you're set in stone on what you want and aren't willing to have to do the flower shopping yourself, maybe go with one of the more specialized florists, or wedding-only florists. I think she's probably wonderful for mothers day bouquets and that sort of thing, but I didn't need that call from her.
