Experienced professional disc jockey and host, with more than fifteen years experience as a wedding specialist.

I take the time to sit down in person with you to discuss your vision and desires for your special day. Together we discuss your style, taste, musical preferences,
activities for your reception, and the time line of events for the big day. I will offer suggestions based on my experience to make the event run seamlessly, but the final decision is yours. After we decide on a plan, you can stop thinking about it. I will make the effort to work with all of your other wedding professionals to implement your vision.

Of course, I provide a massive library of music, first rate sound package, and a lighting package to add fun and atmosphere to the dance floor. We can also add many personal touches, from your names in lights on the dance floor to a custom slide show to present your love story to your guests. But the most important thing I offer is the commitment to work hard to provide you the day you have always dreamed of. Your music preferences,both likes and dislikes, style of hosting and family traditions are all planned to the last detail. Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Describe your DJ style:
Professional and friendly style. I am comfortable working with an audience. Being personable and approachable, makes the crowd more likely to interact with me, make requests, and most importantly dance and have fun.
What is your usual attire?
I will wear whatever attire is preferred by the couple. Normally I wear a dark suit and tie, but a tuxedo is available and no additional charge. If you are planning a more casual event, or a theme, I will be happy to adapt my attire to the occasion.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
I do everything in my power to legally obtain any and all special requests that the couple may have. If, however, a song is no longer commercially available, I would certainly be willing to use a copy provided by the couple for that evening.
How many other DJs do you work with?
Depending on the venue and other circumstances, I may have an assistant, particularly to help with set-up and tear down. On occasion they may have to press a button or two if I am busy coordinating with everyone for one of the event formalities.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Standard reception packages start at 4 hours. I am open discuss any specific situation that may require less time.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Absolutely. I recommend at least one in person meeting. Usually another happens about a month before the big day to finalize the details. I believe in adding a personal touch to the wedding. I feel I am able to do a much better job if there is a personal connection between myself and the bride and groom to be.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
I try and have an updated variety of ethnic and international music in my catalog. I have worked a variety of different events in the past, in many cases learning a great deal about other cultures. I remember doing a party in the late 80's, and they had a tape of this unique Ukranian dance for me to play. Today just about everyone who has ever been to a ball game knows this song as the "Chicken Dance".
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes. I also have backup sound and music in the rare event of equipment malfunction.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
I have a lighting package available that features a variety of the latest LED lighting, which uses little power and can add great fun and atmosphere to the dance floor.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
Depending on the selected equipment, it usually takes about 60-90 minutes to set up. I do ask that the venue provide a 6 foot (preferably) table. I do bring my own portable booth facade and skirting which hides all the equipment, and provides a more professional finished appearance.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
No space requirements other than enough space for the equipment and adequate electrical power in the vicinity. I do recommend that when you meet with the banquet manager you insist that the DJ area be in as close proximity as possible to the dance floor. I can do a better job if I can see the audience and they can see me.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
I absolutely emcee the reception. I feel the most important job of the professional DJ is to take charge of the reception, work with the other vendors to coordinate the flow of the evening and implement the time table the we would lay out in our pre-planning meeting. Sometimes things fall a bit off schedule, but a professional can adapt quickly to changes.
 I do talk between songs, most frequently when changing tempo or music genres to help make a smoother transition. Depending on the couples desires and the flow of the party there may be more times that I am on the microphone. Generally, however, as the evening progresses, and the party is going, you will hear less and less talking.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
No.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I network with other professional DJ's in the area and in the unlikely event, that I am unavailable, a qualified replacement will be available. In fifteen years as a DJ, however, I have yet to miss a scheduled event.
What is your overtime rate?
50.00 per half hour.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
In the Detroit Metro (Oakland, Macomb, and Wayne) area there is no charge for travel. Outside that area rate is determined by specific situation. Call or e-mail for special situations.

From the moment we contacted Emerald, we knew we were in good hands. Vince quickly assessed our needs and got us a quote which was very reasonable compared to some of the DJ "services" that we had contacted where you don't even know who your DJ will be. They just send whoever is available. With Emerald, you know you are getting Vince who is a consummate professional.

We were able to do the contract and musical selections electronically, which we really appreciated. Vince then arranged to meet us at the club to scope out the space for electrical and lighting logistics (no extra charge). The general manager of the club said that she was very impressed by Vince's professionalism and thoroughness, and she is now recommending him for future events at her club where the members have very demanding tastes.

Regarding musical selections. We made our selections but instructed Vince that he could take requests from our guests. There were many, many requests throughout the evening (we danced for four straight hours!), and Vince was able to satisfy every one of them - even those from some of our teenage guests who are into cutting-edge music! We were very impressed!
