Event Central LLC was the absolute WORST vendor I have ever had to work with. I placed my order and paid a deposit about 2 months before my wedding (table, chairs, linens, vases, chargers, and uplighting originally). I later called to take off the linens and uplighting because I found better prices. The day before my event I called to confirm delivery time and they tell me that they have rented my tables and vases to someone else!!! They used emails from the previous year to say that I changed my order so they rented out my items. If they had looked at the time stamp on the emails they would have seen that they were from Nov 2011. I did not place my order/pay deposit until earlier this year. How could I change my order in the past?!?! They were VERY unaccomadating and rude! They eventually found me some tables but they literally looked like a big piece of plywood with legs screwed into them. The tables were stained, warped and had to be older than me. The only saving grace was I had table cloths to cover these disgusting excuses for tables. And to make things worse after the confusion with my order, once it was corrected they made me pay extra for their mistake because the amount I paid did not cover their rental costs since my order was incorrect and did not include tables and chairs!! I then had to shell out extra $$ for THEIR error! they did not even offer me a discount or apologize. I will NEVER work with again or recommend them to anyone else. I wish I had paid the extra $$ and used a reputable rental company instead of this sorry excuse for a "business". Future brides please do your research and use a more dependable rental company because using Event Central LLC almost ruined my event and stressed me out beyond what was necessary the day before my wedding!

Event Central female owner has a very NASTY ATTITUDE. She lacks the basic customer service skills required to deal the public on a daily basis. Although, my experience was only related to renting linens and the dance floor box it was one that lacked enthusiasm, professionalism and gratitude. The items I rented were great no problem there. However, they were late picking up the items and upon arrival no one greeted those who were there waiting on them. They just came in and started to disassemble their items. This lady who was also onsight this night, was less than pleased with the way the chair sashes were hung on the hanger because she couldn't count them unless they were hung a certain way and made this know in a less than acceptable manner. There is absolutely no FLEXIBILITY AND NO REGARD FOR OTHERS!!!!! It would have been worth the extra pennies to use a company on the Southside to furnish the items I needed for my reception.

oh...so true...so let's get the facts RIGHT for this event....
Andrea E. contracted Event Central on May 2, 2011 (she founds us through an event show we did at Grand Affairs in VA Beach) for an October 8, 2011 event at McGrew Towers in Hampton. She signed the
contract in person and contract details were reviewed at that time. Another sales associate (other than owner) originally helped Andrea in our showroom when the event was quoted. At the time the contract went from an estimate to a work order a deposit was placed (5/2/11) and it was stated she wanted DELIVERY between 8-10am on Saturday 10/8/11.
This information was recorded on her contract. Between 5/2/11 and 9/14/11 she made two sets of changes to her contract, giving finals counts and payment on 9/14/11. It is company policy and printed on the bottom of the contract that there is a required payment every 30 days and finals 15 days prior to event. Andrea never made her July and August payments as required. On 10/7/11, Friday, someone Andrea sent to our showroom arrived and stated she was to pick-up Andrea's order. This order was loaded and ready for our crew to deliver on Saturday as requested. The person Andrea sent, (D.M.), did not know what she was picking up, nor was she happy our policy requires all items to be counted before clients are able to remove them from our showroom. (we like to make sure you get what was ordered.) She counted all items, and initialed each line stating she understood how all items are to be rehung for our pick-up at 8pm on Saturday, after the event. She also signed the stamp that states she understood we would have to recount upon p/u. D.M. then took sashes, backdrop, backdrop poles and left. We arrived as directed on Saturday morning to set-up the remainder of what we were contracted to do. Andrea was NOT there and neither was D.M. We completed our work and left. That evening we were to return at 8pm and arrived at 8:15pm. Knowing we were running late...we got to work right away...not disturbing anyone. During our pick-up of the items, our staff had to gather all of the items still placed randomly throughout the room (all items are to be placed in one location for quick/convenient counting/p/u). One of our staff stated to D.M. (Andrea was not there at this time either) that we were not able to count the sashes in the disorganized fashion that they were hanging and D.M. was ASKED if they could please rehang them for counting as she had agreed to do at p/u. After our staff was rudely replied to (we are sure D.M. and her fellow girlfriends were tired), they agreed they could rehang them. After approximately 10 minutes to rehang, the sashes were counted, backdrop counted, poles counted and everything was loaded. They were thanked for rehanging the sashes and wished a good night. Not sure where this statement comes from...Event Central female owner has a very NASTY ATTITUDE....they was never a situation addressed about either owner....ALSO...YOU STATE...no FLEXIBILITY AND NO REGARD FOR OTHERS!!!!!...you sent someone to p/u part of your items without notification, you didn't make two of your payments, and your friends were rude to our staff when they are just trying to do their job, while not disturbing your girlfriends....who has no regard for others???? We do appreciate the referrals and positive comments we have received from your guests at that event. Thank you for your business.

This is truly a one stop shop with great prices but the customer service from Janet (one of the owners) that my husband and I received was horrible. Her attitude and disposition was very unprofessional and downright mean. We informed her that several of our chair covers were soiled and our unity candles (that SHE insisted we rent through them because they're dripless) didn't light for our ceremony (it was so awkward and caught us totally off guard in the moment) and her response was basically, "Oh well, we have an emergency number on our front door you should have called and the mechanical candles not lighting was an act of nature. Common sense should have told you to cut the wick! You had up until your event time to inform us of all these things" RUDE-RUDE-RUDE!!! Our wedding was indoors so an "act of nature" just doesn't make sense and there was NO wick to cut on the burned out overused candles she rented us. How were we supposed to know the candles wouldn't light until the actual ceremony? And who remembers to copy an emergency number from the FRONT DOOR of a business?!! We should have been given a card or something with information on it. When you're getting a wedding together you have so many other things on your mind and you'd think she would know this...after all she's been in the "wedding business" for years right? An apology would have been nice. Again, the prices and one stop shopping is great but Janet's HORRIBLE attitude we could have done without. Her husband on the other hand was very helpful, patient, comforting, and easy to work with. God bless him! Either way our day was beautiful & special. I would recommend them, make sure you compare total prices, read ALL fine print, and be sure you have boxing gloves & a lawyer when dealing with Janet because she will make you want to fight her first and sue later!

This is the worst place when you need a vendor for your wedding decor and needs. Janet(the owner) has the worst attitude and customer service. You will feel like she doesn't need your business. They might be cheaper on their rental prices but they get you in their misc. fees. Make sure you compare the total from your quotes and even if Event Central is a little cheaper, i would NOT use their service. Even when I didn't think that I would be able to afford a wedding photographer, they had a wonderful photo package that fit in well below my budget and I still got more pictures than I would have somewhere else at more than twice the cost. We used Event Central for our daughter's wedding Thanksgiving weekend. They advertised as one stop shopping for our wedding needs and they truly were. We had an outdoor wedding so used the altar setup, tent, and seating from Event Central. We also had them make our cake (6 layers and 3 different flavors) and provide the DJ for the outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. Because we are from out of town, I needed someone reliable to provide everything, set it up, and break it all down when the wedding was over. Jon and Janet truly came through for us. We made our reservation almost a year in advance but I needed to make changes as the date approached. They were flexible in adjusting to my needs. I sent them layouts of what I wanted and they followed every instruction perfectly. Janet even stood by to set up the sand ceremony for us outside because we had some windy conditions and were afraid to set it up too early. We provided the fresh tropical flowers for the cake and they provided the expertise. It was both beautiful and delicious. The DJ (Lawrence) did an outstanding job and worked with us very closely to be sure we got exactly what we wanted. I wouldn't hesitate to rely on Event Central or to recommend them highly for anyone who wants a comprehensive and reliable group to handle every detail of their wedding. Thanks Jon and Janet for helping to make my daughter's day fabulous!
