INFO FOR DJ

What music genres are in your collection?
50s, 60s, 80s, 90s, Big Band, Classic Rock, Country, Dance, Funk, Gospel, Hip Hop, Jazz, Motown, Oldies, Pop, Punk Rock, R&B, Rock, Soul, Swing
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes
Describe your DJ style:
Do you remember the DJ at the last wedding you went to? The guy who seemed to talk more than he played music? Or was he the one who thought that he was the next American Idol? You'll be relieved to hear that we are not him.

We strive to play the music you and your guests want to hear, and have fun while still being professional. Our performance will never take away from the bride and groom because from our prerogative, people are there to share your special day, visit with relatives and old friends - a DJ's place is to add to that, not make themselves a circus show for the night.
What is your usual attire?
Our attire is your option - and can change depending on the style of reception you're planning. Typically, our DJ's wear either a shirt/tie or business casual attire for your reception.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
We will make every reasonable attempt to find a song if we don't already have it. It is very likely that we will already have your favorite song though, as we feature a music library of over 16,000 songs, updated on a regular basis.
How many other DJs do you work with?
We are a single operation company, meaning we have one DJ system out per night, with one set of DJ's. This is a huge advantage for you because from your very first contact with us you will be working with the owner, the person who will actually be DJing your event.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
The minimum time for a wedding reception is 3 hours.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Of course. We try to be as flexible as possible in our communications with clients. These days, a lot of clients are simply too busy to have a formal sit down meeting with a DJ, and many prefer to do business over the phone or e-mail. Still some prefer to sit down and meet before or after booking - no matter how you prefer to do it, we're happy to oblige.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
We specialize in a traditional mid-western wedding reception. It is by far our most common event, but if you're looking for something different we're happy to work with you to make your day everything you're dreaming of.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes, we own all of our own equipment, and bring back-up equipment - just in case. We use only professional equipment, but even the best gear can occasionally fail. By bringing back-up you can rest assured that an electronic glitch won't ruin your night.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
We offer one of the most dazzling light shows in Central Minnesota. Our professional lighting features some of the newest and most popular LED and laser effects. Add fog to your show to accent the lights and you're sure to have a show that'll have your guests talking.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
We request an hour and a half to set up. This allows us to set up the complete sound system and light show, perform a sound check, and be sure that all equipment is functioning properly. We do request use of one 6 - 8 foot banquet table, but we can bring our own table upon request.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
It does take space to set up a full light show on a 10 foot lighting truss, but most spaces are generally large enough. To be certain, a walk through of the event location with your DJ is always recommended.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
It depends on the situation and the type of crowd. As we said above, playing the music that you and your guests want to hear is our top priority.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
We do not require a meal break, but it is always appreciated if the bride and groom ask us to eat with their guests. The DJ is almost always the first to arrive to the reception location, and again almost always the last to leave - often logging more than 10 hours from set up to tear down.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Music will be played throughout the time that we are contracted to play.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
We do our best not to DJ by ourselves, and therefore have a built-in back-up should one of us have a last minute issue. We have never missed an event for any reason since we've been in business.
What is your overtime rate?
Overtime rates vary depending on the type of event. Weddings typically have an overtime rate of $100/hr before midnight, $150 after midnight.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
We offer no charge travel within a 50 mile radius of our office, located in Annandale, Mn. This allows us to serve places like St. Cloud, Monticello, Hutchinson, and most of the Western Metro Area. If your event is outside of our free range, our mileage charges are very reasonable. Please contact us for a quote for your area.
What is the required deposit to secure your services?
In order to secure your date, we will need a signed contract and a $100 deposit. Your remaining balance will be due on or before the date of the performance.
