This Chapel at USD is breathtaking! Darlene the wedding coordinator is very helpful. A bit hard to get a hold of on the phone at times but an email is always answered. They do have a tight schedule for weddings and you are held to a short time frame. The wedding was at 11am and we were allowed in the church at 10 but had to be out by 12:45 as they had another wedding at 2pm. This time frame included decoration set up and take down, ceremony itself, and pictures in the Chapel afterwards. They were flexible as we could bring in our own choir, soloist, and priest. Parking is a bit of a problem.

Founder's Chapel is a gorgeous place to get married. The chapel is only available to USD students, alumni or staff. I was very fortunate enough that my husband is both an alumni and currently works at the University. Til this day my husband and I are getting compliments on how pretty the chapel was. Our wedding ceremony pictures turned out amazing. The church coordinator, Darlene, was easy to work with as well. She was able to answer all my questions and did a great job showing and directing everyone what to do during the rehearsal and the day of.

I love Founders Chapel and it was great to get married at USD. Darlene is the only one that I worked with at USD who knew what she was doing. Everyone else there did not. The only problem with getting married there is that you cannot have your reception on USD's campus (nobody knows why). So, we had our ceremony at Founders, the rehearsal dinner and Sunday Brunch at USD's La Gran Terraza. My new husband and I worked consistently with Lindsay. She's the only one you can work with at USD for La Gran Terraza events and I'd have to say that she barely knew what she was doing. The food and service at La Gran Terraza were excellent (esp. the dinner!!), but every time I turned around Lindsay had changed something, whether it was the price per person or the menu. She didn't even know when the restaurant would be open (so we could try out some of the food) or whether coffee would be included free with the brunch or not. It wouldn't have been a big deal had my husband and I lived in SD, but we live in Philly and had very limited time in SD.

Founders Chapel was our ceremony location. It was a fantastic experience, from beginning to end. Darlene is a veteran at doing weddings, and she is efficient and knowledgeable. The most beautiful ceremony location that I could imagine!
