My friend's grandmother is a tailor and agreed to alter my wedding dress. She did the hem but she seemed confused about the bust area so we decided that she would not do that part. When I got the dress back from her I only had 2 weeks until my wedding and still had to have the bust done. I took my dress to Franks. I was nervous because they are a general tailor, and I did not know if they would have the expertise for wedding dresses. My dress had a lot of beaded detailing and definitely required someone who really knew what they were doing. They assured me that they do wedding dresses and when I got there they even showed me several other wedding dresses they had worked on that week. I decided to try it because my husband has been taking clothes to them for a long time and was always pleased with their work. They did a phenomenal job with my dress! They got my dress back to me in 1 week, it was perfect! It was ready exactly when they said it would be and did not need any additional changes. The turnaround time was amazing considering other tailors quoted months. The cost was totally reasonable- only $85 for the amazing job they did in one week. The only drawback is that it is not a "fancy bridal tailoring shop". The dressing room was hot (summer time) and when I came out for the tailor to mark up the dress, I was not in a private area. Despite this, the service was still professional and reliable and I got exactly what I needed. If you are looking for good quality, professional, affordable and reliable tailoring and don't need to go to a fancy store, Franks is your place, you will not regret it!
