INFO FOR DJ
What music genres are in your collection?
50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, Big Band, Classic Rock, Classical, Country, Dance, Hip Hop, Jazz, Motown, Oldies, Pop, R&B, Rock, Soul, Swing
Do you have liability insurance?
Describe your DJ style:
Fresh, classy, not over the top or obnoxious, easy to talk to and very professional. I do NOT play the Macarena, YMCA, Chicken Dance, Hokey Pokey or songs of the like.
Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?
No, but I have the bride and groom pick out 30-35 songs that they would like to be played throughout the evening so I have an understanding of their tastes and their guest's tastes.
What is your usual attire?
Suit and tie, no cheesy tuxedo.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
No not at all. I pay for all of my songs via iTunes and Promo Only and in rare instances that I cannot find the particular rendition of a song I will contact the Bride and Groom with ample time before their reception to get a copy of the song.
How many other DJs do you work with?
None. I am the owner of the company and you get me as your DJ. I do not double book.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
Let's reverse the question and answer it this way: When you book with me, you have me for the entire day. Unlimited cocktail and dinner music when your first guest arrives to the reception and 4+ hours of dance music until midnight.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Yes, of course! I would rather the Bride and Groom get to know me and my personality so that I am a match for them, their guests, ideas, and music tastes.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
I have DJ'd Greek weddings in the past and I'm open to try anything new as long as I'm able to have the music and customs prior to the wedding so that I may prepare properly.
Can the client submit a do-not-play list?
Yes, of course and as mentioned before, I do NOT play the Macarena, YMCA, Chicken Dance, Hokey Pokey or songs of the like.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes! A crystal clear sound system, wireless mic, and intelligent lighting are all included in my wedding package.
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
As an a la carte option, I offer two 42" plasma TV's that can include but is not limited to; music videos, slide-show presentations, and a camera on the crowd.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
I need between two and three hours before the anticipated arrival of your first guest so that I may go through testing equipment and making sure everything is perfect for your reception. Dependent upon the setup I have my own 6 foot table if I'm not bring the video setup, otherwise I'll need an 8 foot table provided.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
No, I do not. In most cases I can setup my equipment with only two separate 15 amp circuits.
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?
Yes, I have both a black with white lettering and a white with black lettering banners. Dependent upon the reception setup, I'll use either or.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
I will emcee the Grand March and other announcements needed or requested by the Bride and Groom but for the most part I will not be on the mic or speak between songs.
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?
I tend to not entice guests to get on the dance floor via my microphone and do not do so by playing games. I pride myself in reading the crowd well and anticipating what they want to hear next. I'll usually begin with a reverse generational slow dance to begin the evening and if the dance floor thins I'll play songs in which there's a universal dance step like the Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide, or Cha Cha Slide.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
I do NOT take any breaks, the music begins when the first guest arrives until midnight or another time that has been agreed upon. Usually the Bride and Groom offer a meal but it is not required.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I do have a network of reliable DJ's in case of an emergency like a death in the family. I'll have to be on my death bed before I miss something that I have booked, promised and contracted.
Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?
No I do not. When you sign with me, you get me, the owner and only DJ of Fre5h Production5.
What is your overtime rate?
A rate agreed upon with the Bride and Groom. On average, $150/hr.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
I charge for travel expenses outside of Madison and the surrounding communities; $0.50/mile.
What is the required deposit to secure your services?
I require a retainer fee of half the full payment, 21 days after signing my contract. Full payment is due 21 days before the event date.

Ryan was an amazing DJ! So easy to work with and such a huge help !! I would recommend him to anyone! Numerous people have said he was the best DJ they've heard at a wedding. He went above and beyond! Helped with the outside ceremony and video without hesitation and was only suppose to dj at the inside reception! He made our big day a lot easier and did a more than wonderful job!

Ryan DJ'd our wedding, and did a FANTASTIC job!! He was very organized from the planning stage all the way to the last song which made for stress free planning! There was never a dull moment during the reception, and the perfect genre of music was played at the right time during each part of the night. Also, he came up with some very unique ideas to fit my personality and to cater to exactly what I wanted! I got SO many compliments from my guests about the DJ, the flow of the reception, and the song choices - they all had such a great time! I would without a doubt recommend Ryan to DJ your wedding!! I could not have been happier with how everything at the reception went, and I think you will be as well with this DJ!

Performance IS everything...too bad this dj's performance was far from stellar. If you want a dj who will display a complete lack of professionalism at your event and kill any festive atmosphere you and your guests try to create, this is the dj for you. If not, best to find someone else who will actually be worth the money. Trust me, your iPod would do a better job than this guy.

We loved working with our DJ. He played the songs we asked him to play and took great care of our guests. George was very flexible and very professional. He even made us CD's of the songs played at our wedding.
