This was the perfect venue for our tiny wedding. We only had 24 guests, so we were able to have very defined spaces for the ceremony, dinner, dancing, dessert, and cocktail hour, all within the little courtyard. It could easily hold more people, though! There are old fashioned style street lamps within the courtyard, so we didn't even need to bring in extra lighting. Dining and dancing under the stars was a fantastic way to spend the evening, and all of our guests commented on how pretty it was. They let us put waterproof led lights and flowers in the fountain...that was really the only decorations we had, and that was all that we needed! The 'dressing room' they rent out for brides is really just a small kitchen with a bathroom attached, but it worked perfectly. It does have a full sized fridge and an ice maker in there, which was really helpful for keeping our drinks and desserts cool before the wedding.
The only downside is that they can be a bit difficult to get ahold of. Emails sent through their website go unanswered entirely...your best bet is to call, or just show up in person. Make sure you check the hours before you show up, though!
All together, I don't have a single regret about getting married here, and I will definitely consider hosting future events here as well!

I used Ybor City Museum and Garden as our wedding venue this past fall. At first, the venue seemed absolutely perfect. Inexpensive, outdoor, beautiful. But as our wedding date drew near we realized we were absolutely getting what we were paying for... and we were very regretful. The communication from the staff of Ybor Museum Society was poor from the beginning. Unanswered emails and constant calling to get a hold of a person. The staff missed meetings and there were many oversights about details that they later claimed "we should have handled ourselves." Additionally, in between the time we placed our deposit and our wedding date the venue (a state park) was given orders to gut the existing garden plants and replace with Florida natives. Well...this too was not relayed to CUSTOMERS like myself who had booked the venue in it's previous design. All of the plants were young and had not grown in to fill the spaces as they were before. This changed the ENTIRE look of the garden. It was incredibly disappointing. During our wedding the ranger we hired sat in the museum office with his girlfriend and did not monitor the venue and I had to ask him during dinner to turn on the fountain lights because it was completely dark outside. After waiting the 6 weeks for our deposit, I again had to call and email multiple times and would never receive a follow up. The deposit too 12 weeks to be delivered to our house. The CEO was incredibly rude about the entire process claiming the check would be delivered "when she signs it and sends it out." Poor customer service and communication. It is as if you are doing them a favor to get married there and gosh help you if you need any support! Unless you are 1000% confident in doing it all on your own I would not recommend this venue. There are plenty of other reasonably priced venues that provide greater customer service and support for the one most important day of your life!

The Garden was perfect for our ~170 person wedding -- beautiful and simple. Plenty of space for dinner under the tent and dancing by the stage. We booked houses nearby for the wedding party, and had the rehearsal dinner at the Columbia, so everything was walkable!

I have to say that one of my favorite decisions was our venue. The historic charm and beautiful grounds were the most amazing setting and it was everything I had imagined. Gina was great to work with and the park ranger was very helpful the night of. It was a romantic venue with gorgeous natural lighting and SO MANY beautiful locations for photos.

This space worked so perfectly for our evening outdoor reception. Paired with lighting from other vendors, the vibe of the venue was relaxed, romantic and magical. As mentioned in other reviews, the space is sectioned into 3 parts. We thought it would be a challenge to make sure all sections were united, but it wasn't an issue. We had about 200 guests, so there was guest seating in all 3 sections. Our dance floor was in the middle section, away from the street. Our guests often told us that they never felt too far away from any of the action nor did they feel cramped.

That being said, working with this venue can be a bit difficult due to the lack of communication between the office (sales & admin side) and the park rangers (security/point of contact/person who is actually there at your event), as mentioned in other reviews here. Don't get me wrong; we found everyone so lovely to work with. They just weren't all on the same page at times. Mainly, the rangers will promise things and get you all excited, but it may not be stated so in the contract. So be proactive. Be SURE to read everything in the contract and clarify everything before signing, especially regarding who is responsible for set up and break down. I would recommend setting up a quick meeting among you, Regina (coordinator in the office) and your ranger that you will have at your event. They are all kind and flexible.

From my research, this venue has been gradually increasing it's price (probably because they've learned it's such a deal compared to most venues!), so book it now if you're considering it! When we booked in the fall of 2012, the price was $2K. A few months before that, I read a review stating it was $1K, and a few months before that - $500! Bottom line, a deal!

I absolutely loved my venue! and so did my guests. I had more an more compliments about how this was the perfect wedding venue.

The garden is laid out into 3 different sections and we used all 3 of them. We had the dancing closest to the stage, cocktail hour and the bar in the middle fountain area and finally the tent was placed in the secton closest to the museum where we had tables set up for dining.

The value is incredible and I love the fact that it is a blank slate and you can bring anything in. It truly makes for a memorable event.

I would highly recommend this venue.

Ybor City Garden Museum is a unique and beautiful venue. It is a complete DIY venue that provides flexibility in bringing in your own vendors. It is a hidden gem in historical Ybor City. The garden has a kitchen and chair and table rentals available. The staff is very helpful and friendly, but there are strict policies regarding the setup and break down, since the location is historic. It is all manageable though. The thing i liked most about this venue was the ability to create my ideal wedding from scratch. We brought everything in and loved the organic and natural feeling of the place. I feel like a lot of weddings at particular venues all look the same and the best thing about this place is every wedding i have looked up has looked different. The other nice thing is being able to bring in your own vendors. We hired a rental company, caterer and DJ, but were able to save money by purchasing our own alcohol and bartenders. You can really set your own budget here and manage it without all the extra fees.

Beautiful large garden located right in the heart of historic Ybor City. If you are looking for a beautiful space to have an outdoor wedding (ceremony and/or reception), this is the place!! The staff has been professional and friendly throughout the process. The garden is so pretty that there is very little need for additional decorations. It has a large fountain in the middle of the garden that is beyond gorgeous. There is also a wooden gazebo in the garden which is perfect for your musician. I'm so happy I chose this venue for my ceremony!
