love their menu. i had a meal in mind and most of the hotels in the area do not have anything like what i wanted on their menu and it would have cost much more to have a special menu created just for our event. i also love that this hotel has an event planner on staff. that makes things very simple. the closeness of the hotel to the airport was great too.

My rating might be slightly deceptive, because all things said and done, our experience at the Marriott was WONDERFUL! I couldn't have imagined a more perfect night--Joelle, the events coordinator, and her staff took care of everything, and everything went off without a hitch. The food was EXQUISITE--the salmon and the beef tenderloin are truly to die for. The room was decorated beautifully (she assembled all the centerpieces my sister had created), and Joelle worked to take care of ANYTHING that might have come up, arranging things like gift pick-up (we left for our honeymoon immediately the next morning) for when would be most convenient for everyone. Also, the complimentary honeymoon suite (with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries!) was a beautiful touch. For the money you pay (we paid about $30/person, and that included EVERYTHING--food, staff, ballroom [with dance floor], linens, silverware, cake-cutting, etc.)--the value is tremendous. Also, they include a lovely bridesmaids luncheon in the price, which my husband and I decided to nix in favor of a champagne toast at the reception. Their flexibility to give you what YOU want is astounding. Honestly, you simply CANNOT get a better deal than the Marriott.

The ONLY reason this is not a five-star rating is that Joelle, while lovely and completely on top of things in person, is bad about responding to email--she would sometimes not address questions I'd asked in a previous email, or would completely forget to respond altogether! Because I was living in Indiana at the time and trying to plan everything long-distance, this made things sort of stressful. If you live in the area, however, and primarily deal with her through phone/in person, I am fully confident this would not be an issue.

Joelle Davis was excellent!!!!! Everyone at the Marriott was SO friendly to my husband and I and all of our guests!!!!!! The entire time we dealt with anyone there we were very happy with how they treated any of us. Joelle went out of her way to make sure that our wedding day went off smoothly. I can't express how happy we are that we choose to be married by their poolside and have our reception inside their ballroom. All the food was excellent!! Even 1 week later people are still talking about how great the food was and how the service was excellent also.!!!

The event planner, Joelle Davis, was absolutely great! She and her staff aided us in everything from the food choices, food tasting and even down to the complimentary rooms. I would suggest the Greenville Marriott for both of my sisters' weddings whenever they get married.
