About HalThePiperI am HalThePiper - a Professional Bagpiper living in Annapolis, MD.
My main website contains a wealth of information, including my bio and tune list. You can find my main website by finding the URL that has "webspawner" in it at the end of my message. My HalThePiper MySpace page plays some of my music, has pictures and background about me, and displays my short range schedule. My Gigmaster profile also has tunes I have recorded in addition to schedule and bio info.
I can play: before the Wedding; during the Ceremony, for the Processional and the Recessional; during the Ceremony, for a Candle-lighting interlude; after the Ceremony while the picutures are being taken; and and I can lead the Bridal Party and Guests from the Ceremony site to the Reception site. I often play for from 30 minutes to 45 minutes for the Cocktail Hour of Receptions, using a lot of up-beat, jaunty Irish/Celtic tunes. If you have any particular tunes you or family members would like to hear, just let me know. I can also interact with the guests and take requests. This can be done with the Great Pipes or Smallpipes.
Here are some tunes I have played for Wedding Processionals:
Wings (the bagpipe tune)
When Irish Eyes Are Smiling
The Bridal March (Wagner)
Gabriel's Oboe (theme from "The Mission")
Lord Of The Dance (Simple Gifts)
Dances With Wolves Theme
Endearing Young Charms
Theme from "Last Of The Mohicans"
She Moves Through The Fair
Dawning Of The Day
Theme From Princess Bride
Blue Bells Of Scotland
Green Hills Of Tyroll
Flower Of Scotland
Farewell To The Creeks
Here are some tunes I have played for Recessionals and marching the Bridal Party to the Reception:
Scotland The Brave (like in "I Married an Ax Murderer")
The Wedding March (Mendelssohnn)
Rakes of Mallow
Back To Donegal
The Wearing Of The Green
Prince Of Denmark's March (Trumpet Voluntary)
Ode To Joy
The Water Is Wide
The Meeting Of The Waters
Lord Of The Dance
For candle lightings during the ceremony I have played such tunes as: Amazing Grace, Dawning Of The Day, and Ode To Joy. As a special memorial to dear departed relatives I have sometimes played tunes such as: When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, Danny Boy, Soldier's Song, Sky Boat Song, The Navy Hymn, Navy Blue and Gold, or the Marine Corps Hymn.
I will wear a full formal piping outfit, including Kilt, Black Bonnie Prince Charlie Jacket, white formal shirt with winged collar and black bow tie, black vest, Glengarry cap, Wide Belt, Dress Sporan, Knee length Stockings with Flashes, and Celtic Gillie Brogue shoes.
If you are unsure what a particular tunes sounds like, just call me and I'll play the tune for you over the phone using one of my electronic bagpipes. Or you can contact me via Skype - I often use it to teach lessons to students who cannot come to my home studio.
