Dawn was an absolute dream to work with as a bride. She did everything she could to help with the year long process of planning our wedding. She was so sweet, professional, knowledgeable, and helped to make everything go so perfectly on our wedding day. There is not one thing that went wrong on our wedding day and I attribute a lot of that to dawn's help. If you are looking for a wedding coordinator do not look any further! Dawn is the best!!! :)

She was so sweet, professional, knowledgeable, and helped to make everything go so perfectly on our wedding day. Working with Maryssa Stovall at Hannah Smith Events was perfection! From day one she was extremely responsive and answered every call, text and email immediately, regardless of the day of the week or time of day. She was also committed to finding us talented vendors that worked for our price range. The most surprising thing was how economical it was working with her company, given the high level of service. Dawn was truly a delight to work with. She not only did all the floral work for our wedding and reception, but also helped us last minute with our rehearsal dinner flowers.

Did I mention she was our wedding planner as well?!!
Talk about two birds with one stone. She met with us almost a year out from our wedding date to go over the basics with us, and eased us in to the process. We thought we might be able to skip a wedding planner, my wife is a true "do it yourself-er". BUT after everything she helped us with, it would have been impossible without her. She coordinated everything, made detailed timelines, and was our middleman for all of our other vendors.

The flowers and centerpieces were beautiful, more than we could have imagined.
Do yourself a favor ladies and gentleman, Hire Dawn... or at least give her a call and talk with her first. You will not be disappointed.

Kelly was amazing. We did the day of package and she swooped in and nailed down every last detail for us. If we could go back, we would definitely pay the extra money to book her earlier. It was so nice during the week before the event when I could just communicate with her (for the most part) and not get emails from every different vendor every day. Even if you're trying to cut costs on your event, I would recommend having your coordinator start at least 2-3 months before the event. They will most likely save you money by looking over your contracts with your vendors and making sure that you're getting everything you think you are for the agreed upon fee.

I don't even know how to begin this review. Hannah made my wedding day absolutely perfect!!! My vision changed a lot throughout the planning process and Hannah was able to take all of my ideas, provide suggestions, and turn it into the most picture perfect setting. I cannot say enough awesome things about Hannah. She was with me every step of the way and responded quickly to the hundreds of questions I had. I will forever be grateful for her!!

Maryssa was great! So was very responsive at handling any issue or drama that inevitably arises during the planning stages. It was a great anxiety reliever to my wife to have Maryssa involved. When I was looking for a wedding planner, I reached out to six different planners. In my inquiry, I mentioned how overwhelmed I was with the process as well as my concerns that I had a small budget to work with. Hannah immediately emailed me back and said my budget was doable and had Maryssa Stovall call me. When I spoke with Maryssa, I immediately connected with her. She was very professional and walked me through her planning process and I felt comfortable with her right away. I knew she was the one! I decided on the partial planning package (since I had already booked my venue). As a part of the package, Maryssa sent me recommended vendors and had me choose two to move forward with. All the vendors were amazing, but I was extremely happy with the ones I picked. The best part was that she was able to find me vendors that could work within my budget! Throughout the process, Maryssa was extremely responsive and available by phone, text and email. When my fiance said he wanted a churros maker at our wedding, Maryssa made it happen. When I had an issue with our stationary, Maryssa was on top of it and took care of it immediately. While brides are usually stressed out, I was relaxed because I knew Maryssa had everything handled. When it came to my big day, everything went off perfectly. I enjoyed every minute of my big day knowing that Maryssa was keeping everyone on schedule. Wedding planning is one of those rare situations in life where you get a lot of unsolicited advice. When anyone who has ever been married learns that you yourself are planning a wedding they invariably trot out one of the reliable tropes about Wedding Days. One of my favorites was: “Something will go wrong. Try not to sweat it.”

The thing about that bit of advice is that every single person who offered it to me clearly didn’t have Dawn Steele as their wedding planner. Dawn may as well be super human, because not a single thing went sideways on our big day.

Everyone was exactly where they needed to be, when they needed to be there. No one in our wedding party or our families had to lift a finger or even answer many questions on the day of our wedding. Most importantly, our guests had a blast!

Even our vendors were impressed with how organized and prompt the whole day was.

The entire process of planning with Dawn was a sheer delight. She was incredibly responsive on email and really helped guide us to planning the wedding of our dreams.

One of the biggest pay offs for us of hiring Dawn was having a neutral third party to answer sticky questions about etiquette and provide more background on what’s common at weddings, generally.

I highly, highly recommend Dawn. You won’t find a better, more pleasant wedding planner in San Diego county.

This review is way overdue, but better late than never. I did some research on wedding planners and called around to get a few quotes. When I came across Hannah Smith Events they were very responsive and so helpful. I was quoted a price that was a lot more reasonable from the other quotes I had received. I was told that one of the wedding coordinators would be contacting me for more information and to get the wedding planning started. I promptly received a call from my amazing wedding coordinator Maryssa! I immediately felt so comfortable with her, and she was very helpful even though it was our first time talking. From our very first meeting to our very last, Maryssa was very knowledgeable and kept me calm through out the whole year of planning. She has great communication skills and always kept me informed of everything, plus provided great referrals through out all of the planning. The most amazing day had arrived and Maryssa was absolutely wonderful! From the rehearsal date to the big day. Maryssa and her assistant did such a beautiful job on setting up everything to the point where it came out better than I had imagined. She kept calm throughout the whole day considering I have a very large family and trying to accommodate 250 guest was not easy. Maryssa was so efficient, calm and such a blessing that day, I would have been completely lost with out her. She was the very last person to leave the venue and did not stop working until the very last item was loaded and put away. Two months later I still get compliments on how beautiful and organized everything was. Even after the wedding she has kept in touch and has always made me feel more of a friend rather than a wedding coordinator. My husband (then-fiancé) generally consider ourselves to be very, very organized when it comes to planning ANYTHING. We are also big on budgeting, so for our wedding, we wanted to save where we could. However, we both felt that investing in a quality wedding coordinator would be worth every penny... and we were right! Dawn Steel from Hannah Smith Events was amazing! Although our package was meant to begin services 1-2 months prior to the wedding, Dawn was our go-to advisor since the day we hired her (5 months prior!). She was detailed, easygoing, and very accessible by phone, text, and email. She even sent us guides and timelines to keep us on track of our wedding schedule, and checked up on us (not in that "hovering" way, but to make sure we had all the support we needed). Dawn also went above and beyond her "paid" duties. For example, my fiancé and I had TOTALLY forgotten about wedding flowers until about 1-2 months beforehand (who DOES that?). LUCKILY, my mom's florist friend was able to make the flower arrangements... BUT she wasn't going to be in town to set them up. Dawn told me she'd "find a way to make it work." Lo and behold, the flower arrangements were beautifully displayed on our wedding day! Dawn also stepped up in a big way to help put out one of our "fires." I had insisted on picking up the table linens we'd rented, since the company was near my house, and I told Dawn I'd drop them off to her at the wedding rehearsal. Well, I didn't realize they closed early on Saturdays and they'd be closed on Sunday (our wedding day!). AHH! Dawn to the rescue! She saved the day with a phone call to her personal contact from the company. Our wedding day ran so smoothly and perfectly, that our photographer, videographer, and marriage officiant were all impressed. One even said, "This is amazing.
