I am writing to respond to the reviews posted by Rashetda and Left Eye (lisa) of my company. Firstly Lisa left eye. This is a bad review from someone who I have never met, has never eaten any of my food or been to one of my events or weddings. I think this is a misuse of the privilege of writing reviews if you give a negative review to a person whose services you have never enjoyed and with whom there is no contract, promise, or deal of any kind. Lisa and I discussed a tasting in August...I never heard from her again, until I received an email (which I found in spam) last week. I also have an email from her, written after this event calling me a "consumate professional" so I don't understand why she would need to take the time to be so spiteful. Additionally with regard to Rashetda. Rashetda's complaint revolves around the cut of meat for the chicken (roast stuffed chicken) and one of 7 or 8 deserts which she claimed was the wrong shape. The chicken was several parts of the chicken, it is a delicious Italian dish stuffed with mascarpone, rosemary and proscuito. It is mainly breast, but other parts of the chicken are used as well, as it works really nicely. Rashetda enjoyed a thorough tasting of her menu, and asked to add on a 3rd entree choice after (which I added at no extra charge for her) we discussed it, and unlike so many of my brides she didn't like it. (I might point out Rashetda doesn't eat chicken so unfortunately didn't get to taste it herself) The desert really has me boggled. The plain white vanilla cake she requested by email indeed arrived. She says it was a sheet cake, I say it was a lovely white vanilla cake ordered from a vendor she approved in advance. I don't know what to say to defend myself because I think the cake was perfect. RAshetda complains that I was unattentive. Well, my company is not a one man band. Yes, I do work with my clients to get the menu, price, all the services and then the contract signed, it is true, though, that I have people who work with me who then take over alot of the details during the preproduction of the wedding. I am still involved in every detail, but I don't take every phone call, and make every personal change to the floor plan. I am sure I don't expect the owner of every business I deal with to give me personal attention on every detail of every transaction I do with them. I know that Rashetda received alot of attention, and indeed, I have evidence of 100's of emails within the 6 weeks that she booked us before her wedding. Price. Rashetda has repeatedly suggested she paid more than the norm for her wedding. I can tell you she paid considerably less, and she beat me down so far on price that It became almost undoable. 80 person wedding, cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres and a 4 course plated dinner with an extensive dessert buffet. All staffing both kitchen and front of house. Rashetda had included in the price of $175pp ALL the rentals, including ballroom chairs. This was an independent venue that required EVERYTHING to be brought it. Rashetda paid $14,000 for her wedding (excluding tax and the tip which she beat me down on in advance). Also, she had a choice of 3 entrees. As regards her not getting hors d'eouvres - she was gone taking photographs, her friend/planner couldn't find her, we had platters of hors d'eouvres sent to her room and we looked and waited for her. If the planner couldn't find her, then I don't know how we were meant to find her. I work very hard and do my best for all of my clients, most weeks I recieve phone calls (last week) emails (the week before) hard written notes in the mail (the week before that) from happy satisfied clients, I am sorry that Rashetda isn't one of them, and more sorry that Left Eye felt the need try to destroy my reputation over a tasting that she feels I missed.

Youve waited for this day, your wedding day, and it has finally arrived. The flowers are beautiful the dress is gorgeous and the Cater is serving the chicken, and its a leg???? Making a very long story short, I contracted Harry's Offsite Catering for my wedding and Venetia was very attentive when trying to acquire the contract but as time passed so did her attentiveness. At the end of the day you hope that the professional you hire would be just that. I am not saying they were not nice they were but I will let you be the judge A few facts: They served my guest a chicken leg and thigh - Have you ever been served that at a wedding? I did not know that I was suppose to ask for the breast but apparently if you dont specify then they can serve what ever they like. They did not provide the Bride and Groom with appetizers - When I wrote to Venetia her response was "they could not find you"??? SO why not ask us if we had the opportunity of trying them while we were seated at out table. I ask for an excessive amount of dessert because we did not want a traditional wedding cake we wanted a dessert buffet. They made it seem like everything was OK, upon glancing over I notice a horrific sheet cake with green petals and a purple flower. For me this was the worst offense of all considering I did not want a wedding cake and this looked like a cheap wedding cake. I requested, Tiramisu, Pecan tart, chocolate moose, chocolate covered strawberries and something plain and vanilla. When I asked about this the reply was disrespectful and my question was not answered, how does sheet cake fit in with all the other desserts options. Last the flavor was not as intense as it was at our tasting. So for you meticulous brides here is a warning. I paid more then necessary in hopes of getting a better than service what I received was lacking. You decide. Oh and no matter whom you use don't forget to specify the cut of me because apparently in the contract it states that they can use whatever they like, or something along those lines.

We used Harry's Offsite Catering for all three of our wedding events. We had a Friday night cocktail party, a Saturday night blacktie wedding ceremony, dinner and dance, and a Sunday brunch. Venetia both planned and catered our wedding and all of its events, included such things as finding the right design team for our wedding space at Studio 450 to getting our guests into their limos to the wedding. We had some concern at first that using the same caterers for all three of our events would result in cuisine that may appear redundant, however, this was so far from the case. The food at each of our wedding events was unique, appropriate and memorable for each specific event. I chose not to have a wedding cake, and chose to have a full desert table of assorted tarts, chocolate & strawberries, vin santo & biscotti. It was beautiful and some of my guests admitted to making their way multiple times to the desserts! Venetia has a really wonderful staff of people that work for her. We felt that we had first rate service throughout the entire wedding weekend. We had an absolutely gorgeous New York wedding! We like Harry's so much that we just used them to cater a surprise birthday!

I cannot believe Venetia has the audacity to make the statements she did in her review of her own company. We "discussed" a tasting? Are you kidding me? This only goes to show how "forgetful" you are since that is what you stated in the e-mail you sent me to apologize for "forgetting to put our appointment in your book because we had booked it so far in advance". Let me quote you some more from an e-mail dated August 25 2008 where we had to re-schedule our original appointment because you did not know the showroom would be closed over Labor Day weekend. "Great. I made the appointment with the showroom. We are set for Saturday October 18 at 11am. No worries." Does that sound like "discussing" a tasting to you? Just ask Nicole, the showroom manager, since she had us booked. I phoned you repeatedly and you never returned my voicemails. I had to finally call the showroom manager and have her call you to see what happened since you wouldn't call me back. And why would I drive from PA to sit in the showroom on Grand Street in SoHo by ourselves for an hour if we'd only "discussed" a tasting? And please don't take my compliment out of context...the e-mail read "You were the consummate professional up until this point so I hope nothing happened to you to cause you to miss our appointment." So NO, I do NOT believe you are a consummate professional. You couldn't even get your story straight in the e-mail you sent me. First, it was "I forgot to put the appt in my book" than later on you wrote "I assumed you weren't interested anymore." So which is it? And why would I need to confirm when I had an e-mail that said "Great. We're set." So I didn't "feel" you missed a tasting. You said yourself you forgot so please spare me the half-truths....
