The dresses were OK in this shop. My mother had a decent experience years ago buying a formal dress here. In April, I went into this store for a wedding dress for myself. I can assure you...I will never, ever walk into this store again, suggest it to anyone ...and I will put my review of one star everywhere. The owner of this store is.....horrible. She has no business being in the wedding business......I left this store in tears...and realized there just must be something very fundamentally wrong with her. Caution to brides and Mothers of brides.....do yourself a favor...go somewhere else. I had an incredible experience at Wedding Belles in Northfield....and also at David's Bridal. I liked a dress at "Here Comes the Bride".....but, there is no way I would have walked in the door of that store again.

Owner of store took measurementa for my dress but wouldn't show them to me. when dress arrived, it was enormous. when the dress came in, I had to pay the balance in cash. I did so two weeks post op from a total knee replacement. when I explained that the dress was enormous, she pinned in the bodice (strapless) to show me what it would like. i told her I was not in a position with pain and illness from knee surgery and would make an appointment for alterations when I felt better. I came back in three weeks and found she had already taken the dress in from the pinning she had done when I came to pay for the dress. it was now too small on top and would not zip up and the molded bust was still enormous. the bottom of the dress was askew because it wasn't taken in to consideration when she took in the bodice without my permission. I had to buy a new dress. I can't even sell the original dress because the top and bottom are now 2 different sizes

Let me start by saying that I never write reviews but found it necessary to warn the general public about Here Comes The Bride Boutique in Somers Point. This has to be the most awful, antiquated, filthy boutique I have ever entered and Donna, the proprieter is the most prejudiced individual that I have ever encountered. She is rude, discriminatory and for lack of a better term, down right creepy. The presentation of the shop coupled with Donna's appearance was absolutely frightful. I was almost positive that I was being "punk'd" or in the midst of an awful horror film. Donna clearly has a mental and/or personality disorder and has no business roaming the streets alone, nevermind running a business that requires customer service skills. This is by far the most uncomfortable experience I have ever been subjected to. Do yourself a favor and RUN, not walk away from this disgusting establishment and save yourself from the nightmares that will haunt you after stepping into "Donna's Dungeon".

Do NOT use this store for any of your wedding needs! We had a terrible experience! Both my mom and my mother-in-law ordered their mother of the bride dresses and neither of them were happy. My mother-in-law, who lives out of town, got her dress and hated it so much that she ended up buying a whole new dress. Donna, the owner, didn't do anything to try to make her happier. My mom also wasn't happy with her dress, but decided to have Donna and her seamstress work with it to make it better. Donna upsold her on everything from adding a liner to the bolero jacket to adding beading, to buying a special undergarment, none of which were successful in the end. My mom's dress came in 2 months before the wedding and she immediately went in for a fitting. However, my mom was repeatedly told that the tailor was backed up and in fact did not start the alterations until 10 days before the wedding! My mom didn't pick up her dress until 4pm the day before the wedding and then got home and found that the alterations still weren't right after 4 different trips to the store to get the dress to work. After calling Donna furious with my mom in tears about 30 minutes before my rehearsal, she offered to come to our house that night and fix it - just what we wanted. We were fed up and told her we never wanted to see her again and she replied by telling us we still owed her money for alterations, which were never right. Then, she ended up showing up at our house the morning of the wedding; it was pretty stalker-ish and I chose not to talk to her and drove away to my beauty appointment.

As if this weren't enough, my husband rented all of his tuxes from this store as they gave us a good price. Between my husband and his groomsmen, there were 6 different trips to the store in the 3 days before the wedding to get the tuxes right. One was missing shoes, one tux was missing all together, the ring bearers had the wrong color vest. It went on and on. Moral of the story - stay away from this store!

On 4/22/11 I went to Here Comes the Bride with my bridesmaids and tried on about 5 dresses including dress style 1602W, a floor model size 22. I retuned on 6/6/11 with my mother to show her my top picks. We settled on style 1602W. While I was changing out of the dress, my mother spoke to Donna Saber, the owner, about making a deposit. Donna informed my mother that the dress would not be ordered until half of the purchase price was paid. My mother paid $100 in cash, I signed the contract for a special order dress size 20 and left.

On 7/16/11, I went to make a second payment, by check, on my wedding dress. After receiving my receipt, I requested confirmation that the dress would be ordered when we had paid half of the purchase price, only to be told the dress has been discontinued and that I am getting the one off the rack since it fits and that she is not going to give a discount for the dress because it is unique. I told her I wasn't happy about it and she said, "we'll work with you." She asked if I wanted to see the dress and I said yes because I remember there being some damage to the dress. When I examined the dress, there was a rip in the overlay at the seam on the back of the dress and was beginning to fray, beading was falling off and the bottom hem wasn't fully finished. I was getting angry and I didn't want to blow up, so as I walked out the door and I told Donna I would come back and talk to her about it another time.

After doing some calling and research, I found out from the maker, Alfred Angelo, that the dress was discontinued in December of 2008. I also found the discontinued dress online from $159 to $400, some new. On 7/18/11, Gun and I went into the store and Donna and I began discussing options, as well as presenting the lower price dresses and the email from Alfred Angelo that stated when the dress was discontined. When I asked for a refund, she stated there are no refunds and I could pick one of the other dresses I liked that I was trying on instead...I asked her what could she do for the one I had and she said she could take $100 off, have it cleaned and fixed, which they would do the last two anyway before any dress left the store. She then asked me to the back of the store. Donna pulled out the dress and I showed her my concerns with the dress, and Donna additionally stated that it was a little dusty and the cleaning would fix it. I talked to her some more and asked about including alterations and although hesitant she said she could work with me on it. I told her $100 off wasn't enough and she said that she would take off $95 and an additional $100 if/when the bridesmaids came in and ordered their dresses. While talking with her, Donna said she worked at the shop since 2004, she thinks the dress came into the shop in 2006 and only one other person she knew of tried on the dress. She said she bought the store in 2008 right around when the dress became discontinued and didn't know it was discontinued (supposidly never checked) until she called and inquired about ordering it for me. Before I got to the store I had drafted an updated contract with two options on it: all of the above (including a larger discount) or a refund. I brought it out and she agreed to sign it, while she was reading it, she crossed off dry cleaned and alterations part, which she had previously ten minutes before verbally agreed to, and then signed it. I told her I would still have to think about if I wanted the dress or not and I would get back to her.
I was unable to reason with the owner and I have Consumer Affairs dealing with her now. Do not go here. This woman is a dream crasher instead of a dream maker.

The lady is totally crazy! She is pushy, even when you make it clear you dont like something.

It was nearly impossible not to use her shop for my bridesmaid dresses though. She has tons of beautiful dresses in the store and there are not many other options in the area.

If you go in knowing that she will try to talk you into something you probably dont want, she is NUTS, and that she might measure you wrong... you'll be fine... lol

Donna is awful! My matron of honor used the store because it was closest to her home and I ordered junior bridesmaids dresses through her. Because I didn't live close to the store everything was done over the phone. She sounds pleasant over the phone but she won't put anything in writing, she doesn't follow through and when she ordered the wrong junior bridesmaid dresses and admitted it she refused to take responsibility, wouldn't rush the correct order and refused to do any type of discount because of her mistake. Her nice phone personality is fake. She also overcharged for the dresses and it was a huge fight for her to refund the money and admit her mistake. She also has high school students working in the store and they are absolutely clueless!

Worst part of my wedding planning experience. I fell in love with a dress in this shop. Did not hear about the woman's reputation until it was too late. My bridal party and I spent over 2000 dollars in this shop. As soon as she got the sales, the owner began to be rude in her dealing with us and very rude to her own staff. She failed to return a dress that did not come in as ordered (wrong color) and then tried to blame it on me- she said she wanted to speak to me about it first and then lied about leaving a message for me. She bullied my sister in law and lied to her to get her to pay for and take the dress that was the wrong color out of her shop, and bullies her own staff. She called them incompetent and stupid in front of myself and other customers. She ordered 1 bridesmaid dress in the wrong size and blamed a defective zipper on the dress design. The issue with the dress being the wrong color was never fully resolved. I am the only member of the bridal party who had my fittings and alterations done there, and the straps on my dress were left too long by the seamstress, even after the final fitting. They had to be safety pinned shorter the day of my wedding. ALL in ALL a nightmare, GO ELSEWHERE.

Would not recommend this vendor unless you are a perfect size 8 or 10! They do have beautiful dresses at a reasonable price; however, their professionalism is poorly lacking. We ordered the bride's dress, bridesmaids dresses, mother of the bride's dress, and tuxedos from them. It took three times longer fior the bride's and mother of the brie's (me) dresses to come in then they said it would. They ordered the wrong sizes on all the dresses--mine had to be re-ordered, and all of the others had to have major alterations. Even after re-ordering my dress and two fittings, my dress did not fit properly! They also took in one of the bridesmaids dresses when they were supposed to let it out! To top it off, they ordered the wrong color vest for the groom's tux, but since the tuxes didn't come in until 3 days before the wedding, we were stuck with it. When we requested a discount due to all the mistakes, they resisted at first, and finally gave us a measly 10% off. They never even apologized for all the mistakes!
