I ordered my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses from here. I had no issue with my dress but they had the complete wrong veil ordered. And when this was brought up to the manager she simply told me there was nothing they can do and that it was too late for them to order another veil for me. Luckily I had the consultant that helped me personal phone number and called her explaining. She remembered the exact veil I ordered and when she looked into it stated the company had discontinued the one I picked out and never notified the store. Luckily she was able to get me another veil very similar that arrived exactly one week before my wedding. Needless to say I was on pins and needles until it came on.

I ordered my wedding dress and bridesmaids dresses from here. I had no issue with my dress but they had the complete wrong veil ordered. I bought my dress January of 2013 and was told it would be in within 6 months. Unfortunately it did not arrive until February of 2014, three months before my wedding. Also I was not informed of it's arrival, I just checked in on it every few months it was late. During my purchase date all of my information was not documented in their records resulting in paying full price for my veil and no record of what veil that was. My dress was held for a year to await alterations after I changed my date. Unfortunately they changed alterationist two months after I made the appointment and did not put me on the books. They did get me scheduled as soon as possible with the new alterationist. Alterations is where things are nice now, Audrone is great. Final alterations in a week...will update you then. Update: Alterations was great I had no problems at all. Audrone did such a great job. I only had to be fitted once, my final fitting was two weeks later and I took my dress home, finally.

The dress that came in was different than the dress I ordered. The detailing on the bodice had been changed. No one told me of the change in all the months the dress was on order. I noticed after I picked up the dress. At first the manager was very helpful in trying to rectify the situation. I was told they would use a shawl they had in store to simulate the way the original bodice looked. When the time came for me to pick up the dress, the store became very unresponsive. I come to find out the helpful manager was asked to leave and no one else was as eager to rectify the situation. Then they did not use the shawl to do what I was told they would, they just removed and reworked some of the bead work on the bodice. I was extremely disappointed with the store and their service.

Good selection of wedding dresses but all downhill after that. I went to the Oaklawn HOB. We paid for my dress in full May 27, 2014 my wedding is November 1, 2014. We were assured it would get here in plenty of time. My dress did not come in until October 22nd leaving me less than two weeks for alterations, and of course the dress needs alterations. When we asked about the seamtress we were told she wouldn't be back to work until Tuesday October 28th....leaving us with less than a week for her to even see me the dress and start alterations and then charge me for it or argue w them till they gave it to me free....The lady rattled off some other seamstress across the street or something that might be able to help me....No thank u. Thank God my mother was a seamstress in her past life she will do the alterations for me...GOD bless that woman! Then my mother went back HOB to look at shoes I told her never to go back there, well she asked about steaming my dress....their response it will be $150 only if you use our seamstress for alterations, who by the way wasn't available until the Tuesday before my wedding A MESS!!..... I would never EVER recommend HOB go to David's Bridal or a smaller privately owned bridal shop NEVER AGAIN.

1. They were very stressful talking about the "dye lot" not matching if we ordered our dresses elsewhere, but the dresses are fine. It's important to let people know, but to stress that so much was unnecessary. We ordered navy dresses from a variety of online sites and they all match just fine.
2. We ordered our dresses in May. That was 6 months ago! We just got our dresses this week!! SIX MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!! your policy is 10-16 weeks that is 4 months tops.
3.On top of that, my MAID OF HONOR ordered her dress from you all because you pressured us into getting it that day. She called on April 7th to order a size up and someone who worked there told her it was fine. Again the dresses were ordered in MAY and they ordered her the wrong size.
4. When my sister-in-law went to pick up her dress and my bridal gown today, they called me. They had no reason to call me because LUCY told me at the end of September that anyone could get it for me since i was out of town.
5. The person on the phone (again Lucy) was INCREDIBLY rude! She was talking down to me and yelling at me about not knowing if my MAID OF HONOR was pregnant (WHICH SHE ISN'T!!!!!!!) and complaining to me about my maids. She then apparently was blabbing all about my MAID OF HONOR being pregnant to the ENTIRE store!! All of which had nothing to do with my sister-in-law picking up her dress and mine and it was all a LIE!
5. Lucy was also rude to my Maid of Honor this evening when she called to clarify the order situation. She blamed my Maid of Honor for Lucy's own incompetence or the incompetence of her staff. She complained about them having the wrong date for my wedding (EVEN THOUGH THE CORRECT DATE IS ON ALL OF OUR ORIGINAL RECEIPTS!!!), and then said she probably couldn't get the new size 10 dress in time for our JULY wedding. IT'S NOVEMBER!!! THAT'S 8 MONTHS FROM NOW!! IN FACT IT IS EXACTLY 8 MONTHS FROM TODAY!

My first experience during my initial search for a dress was less than fantastic. The woman I worked with was not very helpful at all, and I found myself disappointed in the amount of dresses that were available in my size to try on. I did find a dress that I loved, but did not purchase that day because I was less than thrilled with the store. I went to several other locations in search of a dress, but non felt like the one from House of Brides that I liked.

I returned to House of Brides to get information about the dress I loved with the intention of ordering it elsewhere. During this return visit Mary Beth helped me, and she was wonderful! I ended up ordering the dress from House of Brides, and it was perfect. I did call very often to check up on ordering details and progress, and ended up finding out my dress had been in for weeks during one of my follow up calls. I think that their prices are reasonable and following through on the purchasing end is essential.

I am writing in regards to the awful experience I had when I purchased my bridal gown at HOB at Oak Lawn, IL. After waiting several months, I had received my new $1700 Allure edition bridal gown. I tried it on and noticed a small pen mark on my dress and requested it to be cleaned. The sales rep had no problem with it and agreed. The following week I went to pick up my dress, I noted that the pen mark was removed but the entire train of my dress was dirty. Apparently, it had been dragged across an unclean floor. When I approached them about this, I was informed that I “ the carpet here is filthy and you must be have dragged your dress the first time you tried this on”. I was very dissatisfied and displeased with the answer. How is the customer as fault for trying on a dress at the bridal store? How is the customer at fault for the store not keeping their carpet clean? If the carpets are so filthy, how come the sales rep did not inform me this the time or helped me carry my train? I distinctly remembered that I tried on my dress with my socks on and do not recall all of these stains when I was putting the dress back into the bag. I am very suspicious that they may had let another customer try on the dress or dragged my dress in their alteration room when cleaning the pen mark I had requested. When they had agreed to only spot clean my dress a second time, I was informed that they could come back the second day to pick it up. I had given them one week and was only informed they had not cleaned my dress. On my FOURTH trip, which take 40 minutes each way,I received my dress. They had cleaned my dress but small stains are still visible. My dress is still very beautiful, but the experience I now have with my dress is no longer the same. When I see the small stains, I am immediately reminded by this experience. I will never come back to House of Brides. I will never recommend HOB.

After multiple phone calls they finally told me they would not have it for wedding date. They offered a refund as if they were doing me a favor because it is not there standard way of business.
