We ordered my bridesmaid dresses (4) in January 2014. After being told the dresses would be in in May, then June, then July 18th, then Aug 8th, they were finally in on Aug 11th.
So each of my 4 bridesmaids went to get their dresses between the 11th and the 15th of August. For 3 of them it was a painless process - for 1 it was anything but! My dresses were ordered Navy - well, 3 of them arrived in Navy, the 4th dress was shipped in black however no one at the House of Brides told me or her or anyone that the dress was black. My bridesmaid left the store (thinking it was the dim lighting making it look dark), then turned right back around once she got outside. The employee's stated, they knew the dress was the wrong color and the correct color has already been processed to be shipped ---but they still let her leave the store!
We were told her dress would be in on August 22nd and we could call on the 15th for a tracking number. I called the manager on August 16th to get a tracking number for their mistake, I was told there wasn't a tracking number yet BUT the dress will be there on the 21st. On the 21st, I called and the dress was still not in and no one can tell me when it will be in or give me a tracking number but was informed not all the shipments were received yet so it could still be in today. I called on 8/23 (after the dress was supposed to be in on 8/21) and was given the same speech, "The dress will be in next week."
On August 26th (25 days before my wedding), I received a call from the House of Brides in Orland stated my bridesmaid dress is in BUT it is at the Glen Ellyn store. So, I could either go to Glen Ellyn to pick it up or wait a day and the manager would be able to shuttle it to the correct store. To ease my stress, I picked up the dress from the Glen Ellyn store myself.

We ordered my bridesmaid dresses (4) in January 2014. After being told the dresses would be in in May, then June, then July 18th, then Aug 8th, they were finally in on Aug 11th.

I liked my dress in the end, but my experience wasn't great with this vendor. When I came dress shopping, I found a dress that I really like but I wanted to make a few changes to it: lower the back, change the belt and tighten the fit. Before I purchased the dress I discussed the changes I wanted to make with the owner, my consultant and the seamstress, all of them agreed to the changes and guaranteed me that they would be fulfilled. However, when I came for my first fitting there was a new seamstress, apparently they had fired the one I had worked with just a few weeks before. There were no changes made to the dress. When I put the dress on I asked where my notes were that had all of my alterations, no one knew where they were and the new seamstress had no idea what I was talking about. Next, the new seamstress had informed me that she would not lower the back of the dress, and this was the ONLY reason I purchased this exact dress because I was told they could lower the back. I asked the owner to come over and she told me they would do whatever they could and they were very sorry. The next time I came the back was lowered a little bit, when I asked if that was all they could do the seamstress immediately got an attitude with me and was very negative, she also told me and I quote "you better not gain any weight". Finally, when I came in for my "final" fitting, the belt had still not been changed and the hook and eye clasp was not put on. So I again had to come back, the day of my actual "final" fitting they called to tell me that I needed to come earlier because all the sudden their hours had changed and they are closing at 8pm instead of 9pm. My dress was beautiful, despite the fact that it wasn't exactly as I wanted it. I feel like this place tells you what you want to hear for you to buy the dress and then figures it out later. I was very unhappy with the seamstresses hour and attitude.

Let me start off saying that I wish there were an option to give no stars, but, sadly, there is not. I went shopping for a dress I needed by May 1st in the beginning of December. House of Brides had my money for 5 months and failed to tell me about this inconvenience until mid April. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. AND "all they could do was give me a refund." Surprised our wedding party even got our dresses. The wedding is in a week and my dress doesn't even fit. Since we got the dresses so late there is "nothing" they can do. Will no refund me... Very poor service! I went here for my bridesmaids dresses. I understand that they take measurements & order the closest size, and all the girls would need some alterations, but every girls dress was huge on them! Probably about two sizes too big. Impossible to get a hold of anybody. The receptionist would take a message & say that a manager would call back the next day and I would end calling them back again a week later because nobody ever called. Very disappointing!

I understand that they take measurements & order the closest size, and all the girls would need some alterations, but every girls dress was huge on them! Probably about two sizes too big. Went to get my dress with my sisters and mother on 11/29. I went back on 12/5 to purchase the dress and try on with my shoes to see how everything went together and to make sure the length was appropriate. I told them my wedding date was 7/26 (2 weeks before my actual wedding date). The good thing was I found a dress I loved and Kelli was with us for 2 hours my first fitting and it was rather slow that day which I am sure helped. After my second visit Kelli wrote down my measurements to order the right size and the length of my dress and stated it would take 6 months or less to get my dress which would put me at June 5th (the latest). A couple weeks before I decided to give them a call since it was almost 6 months. The woman on the phone told me that my dress wasn't scheduled to come in until July 17th and there was no manager in at the time---how convenient. After playing phone tag and being told I need to talk to the store and then corporate for a week I was starting to panic. It was now after June 5th and my dress is still no where to be found. Luckily on June 27th my dress came in however I was in NY for my bridal shower and couldn't pick it up until Monday. I rushed to the store after work with my mom and Kelli wasn't there and no manager. I tried on my dress and it was about 2 inches too long!!! I had told the woman that we had tried it on with my shoes and it should be an exact fit, but I got the runaround that the tailor could hem it, etc. I was so annoyed and should have left excited and happy to finally have my dress but the attitudes were not helpful. We went to the register to another woman and she confirmed everything was paid for and my dress was hanging on the rack behind the counter. I said I was taking it home and she said ok go ahead. The least she could have done was take it off the rack from behind the register and hand to me! Needless to say I got my alterations done elsewhere and was happy no one called to follow up on my alterations.

My experience with House of Brides was not the best :-( I went in, found my dress and put down my deposit in February of 2014 because my wedding was August 2014. I had no information on when my dress would arrive (for fittings, etc). I started calling in May to inquire about this and the receptionist would always say, "Our manager will get back to you". After many calls, a month later I still hadn't heard from the manager. So I went and paid the store a visit in person. I was told the manager wasn't in and they didn't know when she would be in. I asked them to call her and I was told they did not have a contact number for her (hard to believe). However I could email corporate about this issue O_O Needless to say, I sat in the store until one lovely employee named Kelly did all she could do to answer my questions about my dress and its whereabouts.

In going to the store, the customer service was very sub par. The sales person told us to "just look around" rather then helping us find bridesmaids dresses in the color I was looking for. The only reason I ordered through this store is because I was struggling to find the dress in the color teal I was looking for elsewhere. The store charged 11 dollars for shipping for EACH girl, just to have it shipped to the store. It wasn't even going to their houses. The sales person ensured I would receive the dresses 6 weeks prior to the wedding, which was incredibly important as I have a pregnant bridesmaid and a bridesmaid going through chemo, and they needed time to get them altered. Well, my wedding is in 3 weeks, and these dresses still have not even shipped to the store. When I called, the associate informed me they didn't "request" for them to be sent from the manufacture until June 20 (the five week mark), and the manufacture decided not to ship until June 27. The associate said she WOULD NOT contact the manufacture, that there was nothing they could do about it because they are coming from over seas.
Now as of 23 days until my wedding, they are telling me the dresses have shipped, but they don't know where they are. It is absolutely ridiculous.

The first couple times I went to house of brides in search of a wedding gown, all the ladies there were great. They were all very encouraging, helpful, and made it a great experience for me. I finally went on a night they were having a 'midnight madness' sale to purchase my gown. We were able to purchase my gown at a great price. That night, I was told that I would get a discount on my veil, and have alterations would be included in the cost of the gown. That was NOT true. They just said whatever they needed to say to get us to agree to buy the dress from them. After that day, every experience was I had there was terrible. My first alterations appointment couldn't have been worse. The seamstress, Adrone, was extremely rude to me and all my bridesmaids and basically told me she wasn't going to touch my dress yet because it was too early. She didn't even want to help tie me into the dress. Luckily, they had another seamstress, Rita, that was wonderful. The one complaint I have about Rita is that she was never on time. Usually she was just about ten minutes behind, but at one appointment I had to wait for 30 minutes for her to be ready and nobody could give me a reason why. Finally, the day I was picking up my gown, the girl who was taking my final payment told me I had to pay for my garment bag, which I was told was included. Also, when they gave me my dress, it was extremely wrinkled and I had to wait for another 30 minutes for it to be pressed. Overall, it was a pretty unpleasant experience. The ladies, including the manager, will tell you whatever it takes to get you to purchase a gown, and in the end go back on their word. Make sure you get everything in writing that you are promised at the time of purchase. Other than the terrible customer service, they have the biggest selection of bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses that I have seen.

I called to ask if HOB had a particular bridesmaids dress and if I needed an appointment to try it on. Without answering my question, the woman said they had the dress and made me an appointment to come right away. After driving for an hour to get to the store, the women at the desk could not find my appointment and acted like they never heard of me, even though no one else was in the store. Then they asked if I was buying the dress. I said I wanted to try it on since I'd never seen it, as I said when I called. They secretly whispered to each other and made me feel as if I'd asked for a kidney. Finally, one woman said right this way, took me back and found the dress, then said "we don't allow people not registered here to see or try on a dress" as she held the dress. She wouldnt even let me look at it. Why couldn't they have told me this over the phone? Or at the front desk? Or not been incredibly rude and insulting? As that happened, a woman came in and said she just wanted to look at wedding dresses. They took her back and helped her right away, but basically threw me out. STAY AWAY from House of Brides! It started off going alright. I did manage to find my wedding dress here and my bridesmaids dresses, but that was a treat. They didn't explain much about the bridesmaids dresses and that there were different colors and material associated with each. Very vague on details. They told me that my wedding dress was going to be in by the end of September beginning of October....well November rolls around and still nothing. I called for two weeks asking wear my dress was and they said that they would check on it and call me back. They NEVER called me back. I asked to speak with the manager and of course she wasn't in and they would have her call me back. Did it happen? No. After many more phone calls, the manager finally called back. After a long discussion I found out that my dress was in customs. She said that for all of the lies and trouble I had experienced that I could have free alterations. I thought that was polite of them, finally I thought that they had done something right. NOPE. I went in when my dress finally came in and tried it on. They lie, don't ever return phone calls, and are completely rude! I wish I would have known about all of this before I went there. We went to the House of Brides in Orland and my daughter found her dream dress on the second try! The ladies took great care of us and even offered discounts when I had'nt even asked yet! We ordered the dress in Jan.09, the wedding is in Dec 09 and we got the dress 3 weeks after we ordered it! I think they have been great and we have always been treated nice when we have gone in. I would recommend to anyone who asked.

We went to the House of Brides in Orland and my daughter found her dream dress on the second try! The ladies took great care of us and even offered discounts when I had'nt even asked yet! We started at the House of Brides last June, 2008. My daughter is getting married this July, 2009. She bought her dress elsewhere but found the bridesmaid dresses here as did I, mother of the bride! Not only did I find one, I bought two. All of the bridesmaids were fitted by the end of June, 2008 and were told to pay in full so that the dresses could be ordered. I was told the same and all dresses were paid for as requested. We expected the dresses were ordered and waited the 4 mos. we were told it would take for the dresses to arrive. I re-ordered my dress in a different color on January 19, 2009 and told that I would not get any money back on the previous order since all orders are final. I did mention that the dresses had not arrived, so why couldn't I change the color...it obviously was not even cut yet? Lucy the manager made it clear that all sales are final, period. Like a fool, I re-ordered anyway and sucked it up. Lucy was of no help then and it just got worse. There were no dresses until April!!! No reason as to why it took so long for the order. Two dresses needed to be mailed out...one to CA and the other to Hawaii. No one told us it would cost us another $35.00 to mail them out, so that became an issue. Why couldn't they go right to the customer from the vendor? No answer as to why. My niece's dress went to CA and did not fit. The size is cut smaller than other dresses in a bridal salon in CA by the same vendor. The zipper was stitched into the fabric so it cannot be pulled down all of the way. When a call was placed the next day, Saturday before Easter, to Lucy, she began to yell at my daughter who was also upset about the situation. I could hear Lucy yelling through the cell phone as I sat next to my daughter...Lucy was very rude and unprofessional and of no assistance in making this right. She told my daughter that the dress could not be re-ordered as there was not enough time and she was out of luck. My daughter said the dress was defective and Lucy's answer was that how did she know that my niece didn't jam the zipper! After much discussion back and forth, my daughter asked several times when the dresses were actually ordered, but never got an answer. Lucy told her she would look into the order and call her back...it didn't happen so I called the store the next Monday at 11:00 when the store opens. Lucy is never there until the afternoon and no one has the rights in the store to get into computers, answer questions, etc., except Lucy. Talk about total control!!!! I explained the entire situation to the gal at the front desk, that it appears is only allowed to answer the phone, and she would let the assistant mgr. know what is going on when she comes in. There was no one there to help me when I called! Late in the afternoon, at almost 5:30, I received a call from the assistant mgr. reiterating all of the same empty talk that Lucy gave my daughter on Saturday. Lucy didn't have the nerve to even call me to discuss the matter. As fate would have it, we got disconnected when I again asked the asst. mgr. when the orders were placed...she would have to check and placed me on hold. I waited for about 10 minutes and I finally got a return call...from Lucy. She and I did battle on the state of the affairs and she offered no help whatsoever. The dress belonged to my niece now...basically, too bad so sad for me! I told her that she is acting irresponsibly, and that she is my advocate and should be defending me and helping me as her customer. I paid on time and deserve better treatment, plus she was hoarding my money, gaining interest on it and I had nothing to show for it. She washed her hands of the entire situation. My niece went to a salon in CA and was treated like a queen, as it should be. My niece explained our situation and the salon owner looked at the defective dress and agreed that it was not the usual product that the vendor produces. The zipper was stitched into the fabric and the dress was on the small size. She called the vendor and while we got nothing back for the original dress, this CA salon is able to secure a new dress for my niece, will have it by the end of May and will alter it in one day for her. My niece said that the vendor there has letters all over the store from happy brides complementing the salon on the treatment they received, making their wedding day very special. You do not find any such letters at the House of Brides. Lucy, as it turns out, attempted to find out about my nieces order...we found this out through the CA vendor and the dress vendor lied to Lucy to get her off their back. When we later questioned Lucy about the order date of our dresses, and still got no answer, she told us that the dress my niece thinks she ordered will not be in on time as my niece thinks it will. She is just mean! Calling the CA salon owner again, my niece has confirmation on the dress and the reassurance from the salon owner that it will be here as promised. The CA salon does business with our dress vendor all the time and when they say the dress will be here in 4 mos., they deliver. She felt it was unusual that our dresses were not in as promised. There is no reason our dresses were not here in Oct. When I told Lucy that, I explained that we hear horror stories all the time regarding bridal dresses and wanted to allow plenty of time for correction of errors if that were to be the case...hence we wanted to order early so that we had time to re-order if need be. Did I also mention that the original sales consultant was fired shortly after our orders were to have been placed? You would think as a result, the store would have gone out of their way to help us out...they got rid of a bad employee and yet no one has offered to take care of us, the customer. The dress I ordered in Jan. just came in...almost 4 mos to the day! Interesting...and it came from the same vendor! Plus the original dress I ordered in June of '08 had come in just about two weeks before. Lucy, in the end, asked to have my niece return the dress for her to see...but after the rude treatment, accusations and run around, my sister will not send the dress to her because she does not trust Lucy at all. I purchased all three bridesmaids dresses, two girl ring bear dresses, and two flower girl dress there for our wedding. All the dresses were custom orders from BillLevkoff! I was very nervous. After I placed the order I found some bad reviews. I did start at oak lawn. Had horrible customer service so left. We went to Orland Park location, and they were GREAT! A very nice and helpful group of girls! All the dresses came in just when they said they would and in the right sizes and colors! We were very pleased! They were true to their word on all ordering and very patient with me! Now remember we have our three daughters and two other little girls in the wedding! I can't say enough about them!!!!!!!! I attempted to shop for my bridal gown at the House of Brides in Orland Park. I was in and out of the salon, however, within 10 minutes. The consultant reprimanded me for having too short of an engagement, and she said they would be unable to find me a gown in under 6 months. It appeared that they had a great selection, but they didnt even let me look. They told me I was having a crash wedding. They were very rude. I wouldn't go back, or ever recommend them to anyone.

This was the worst shopping experience I have ever had!! You walk in and it looks beautiful and the lady at the desk waits on you right away but then it just goes down hill from there!! When the consultant came over to me she introduced herself and that was it; she did not ask who I had with me, my dress size, what type of dress I'm looking for, nothing!! Then she leads me to this smaller section and actually says to me "You have to pick dresses in this section because this is the plus size section"!! Keep in mind she does not know my size and everyone I know is always shocked to find out what I weigh because I don't look plus size!! So the lady just assumed!! Then every dress I tried on was not only $1300 or more (which I fell in love with a dress somewhere else for only $500 so why would I pay $1300) but they were also like size 22 which I am not even close to!! So the lady had to clip all the dresses with these big black clips that looked like the clips you use for hardware to hold 2 pieces of wood together; really?!?! AND when I tried on the dresses I did not get any under-garments to use!! Also everyone knows that if the dress doesn't really fit you and has to be clipped that much you can't really tell what it would actually look like on you if it fit!! She also never asked me any questions about how I met my fiance or my wedding or anything!! And to me it is the consultants job to at least pretend interested in me and my wedding and the important people I brought along and to try hard to find the perfect dress for me, but NONE of this happened!! She COMPLETELY failed!!! I will NEVER recommend anyone to go there and I will NEVER go back!! And if my experience was not bad enough, as I'm driving away a lady stopped me (while in her own car) to warn me and tell me not to buy my dress from them!! Evidently they never answer their phones, give excuses, people never receive their orders, and they wait till last min. to tell a bride "oh we can't get your dress in"!!
