I can't put in to words what the people at this venue did to make our special day as perfect as could be. I worked with Rene over the year leading up to our wedding. She answered every e-mail, every question meticulously to make me feel super comfortable and excited about the wedding. There was NO stress with our venue at all. She made everything easy. Even up until the day of the wedding, you can have 5% of your people as no shows and they don't charge you for them. Josh helped us during our food tasting and wedding day. He is so funny and so wonderful. I was nervous at the rehearsal because we were a little late, and Josh just looked at me and said- everything's okay, no more worries. Everything went so smoothly and everyone had such an amazing time at our wedding! The best part is the outdoor ceremony spot. It's a long stone aisle to walk down to get to the pergola by the lake. The lake is surrounded by a field that is tree lined. I hate pergolas, but the one here is little and perfect... it's a quaint pergola, but not as quaint as an arch. The food was also perfect. They served our food with covers so it would stay warm while we were talking to guests and it tasted so good. I wish we had more time to eat it! The venue has tiered dining table seating because it is a dinner playhouse. There are brass bars around some of the table areas which did not get in the way at all. We had 140 people at our wedding and everyone had more than enough room to walk around and enjoy the night. We did go with an uplighting package with our DJ which also made the room feel very fun for the party.

I wish I could choose more than five stars! Hunterdon Hills Playhouse is an incredible venue for a wedding. The grounds are gorgeous, the food is unbeatable, the baking is done right at the playhouse - our cake was AMAZING! I can't say enough about the staff, the attention to detail, the recommendations that were given for other vendors, etc. Not a single complaint except that the party was over too soon!

I got married here on October 28, 2011. I truly only have good things to say about the place, especially Richard (owner), Rene (special events contact), and Josh (the service director and our maitre d'). They are so kind and helpful. Rene was in constant contact with me over the year before the wedding and coordinated all kinds of details I hadn't even considered. Josh was nothing short of perfect the day of the event. He saved the night on several occasions, and kept all our centerpieces and decorations safe for us for a couple days.

The entire experience was just fabulous. Some of our family members were skeptical when we went with HHP at first, because they have always been traditional banquet hall folks, but they were truly impressed and awed at how well everything went and how gorgeous it all looked. My dad later said, "I'm so glad you went with this place. I can't imagine your wedding having looked any nicer than this." When my dad admits being impressed, then I know it was good!

Because it was cold, they allowed us to get married on stage rather than outside in the gazebo. I had zero vision for how the stage would look for the ceremony, and it was set up beautifully (I gave them lanterns and stacks of books, and they let us use their arch).

And the food was GREAT!! Unfortunately i didn't get the chance to eat as much as I wanted, but I got the most compliments on how fresh everything was.The bartenders did not skimp on the alcohol in the drinks, which was appreciated.

The prices were also extremely reasonable for the level of service they provided. All in all, I highly recommend this place for ANY special event-- not just a wedding. There are 2 rooms, one larger one that can accommodate ~200 people, and a smaller atrium that can accommodate ~90 people (my wedding was small, so we had it in the atrium).

I love this place! There are not enough words to explain how great they all were! The cost was so reasonable and you get so much for your money! I am looking for more reasons to go back!

I LOVED having my wedding here. We held the ceremony outside under the gazebo. The grounds were expansive and beautifully manicured. The reception was in the atrium which was the perfect amount of space for our 91 guests. Also beautifully decorated which reduced the money I had to spend on a florist. Our wedding coordinator was so great, I can't say enough wonderful things about her. She was sweet, helpful, responsive, everything. The food was good and they had two bars, one inside and one outside with top shelf liquor. For the price, you couldn't beat it. My wedding was better than I ever could have imagined and it's because of the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse.
