We stayed here on our honeymoon, and then went over to the Hyatt on Kauai. We agreed that the Kauai hotel felt more like a resort and was more honeymoon-ish than Maui. Still nice, but not quite right for a honeymoon.

We tried to make advance reservations at the Old Lahaina Luau but they were sold out well in advance. We decided to try this one. It was crowded, and the food was OKAY, but not GREAT. The entertainment was pretty Vegas-Style, but we had to do a Luau on Maui, so it was okay with us. The Mai Tais were really watered down, but my DH went to the bar to ask for another "splash of rum" and they gladly gave it to him.

We stayed a week at the Hyatt for our honeymoon. It was our first time to Maui. The hotel and its grounds were very pretty, but for what we were paying for our room, I expected more! The grounds are gorgeous - I think the best out of the hotels in Kaanapali. Lots of tropical plants, gorgeous pools and an awesome water slide. The buffet breakfasts there were amazing. So much good food with a SPECTACULAR view of the grounds and the ocean. Their sushi bar is great, and their fruity drinks can't be missed. If staying in Kaanapali, I would definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency on Maui for our honeymoon. It was everything we could have imagined and more. We had an amazing time!! The Swan Court breakfast buffet was delicious! I highly recommend trying that!

HONEYOOOOON!! Such a gorgeous resort, we didn't want to leave EVER! We were mostly happy with the resort, the breakfast buffet and other foods being good, and things to do. There are some minor service issues like having to ask for things more than once. But overall I would recommend at least part of your honeymoon in Hawaii at this resort.

The hotel was beautiful. The grounds were gorgeous and the birds they had all around were stunning. The staff was mostly very nice. However, I have some issues with the hotel. When we checked in, we were given a hard sell about upgrading to a more expensive room. Finally he told us he would give us a complimentary upgrade and that we would have a complimentary bottle of champagne because it was our honeymoon. I explained we were getting married there in 2 days. Our room was in the back of the hotel right next to the Luau. How is that an upgrade? We spoke to someone else who moved us the next day into a beautiful room. We had to ask for our complimentary bottle of champagne 4 times. Finally I spoke to a manager about it and we did get it the night before we left. The day after we checked out, we were charged nearly $300 and when I called them, they couldnt find what it was for. They did reverse the charges 2 weeks later. This is how they treat people marrying in Hawaii and someone who is a member of their Gold Passport program? After we got home I wrote a letter to the manager of the hotel. He sent us a voucher for one night's stay that we could use at any Hyatt. We did use it for our one year anniversary. I'm sorry to say I can't strongly recommend the hotel.

I LOVED they Hyatt Regency Resort in Maui! I was just like I had imagined it would be. The hotel rooms were very nice and island themed. They had restaurants in the hotel with a complimentary breakfast buffet that was the best breakfast buffet I have ever had. Seriously it was awesome. They also had pools you could lay beside and it was right on the ocean, so you just had to walk out of the hotel and you had a beautiful ocean view. The only thing that surprised me was that there was not much beach in this part of Maui. If you want to lay a towel out on the beach, you will have to go to a different area. I also loved the Spa at the Hyatt Regency. We did a couples massage and it was amazing! We felt very pampered and would go back in a heartbeat. The resort is also within walking distance to a popular tourist shopping area, so most nights we would walk down there and eat dinner. It was nice to be able to walk to places from our hotel and not have to get a taxi.
