I Do Now I Don't featured on Good Morning America, abcnews.go.com/GMA/story

I Do Now I Don’t is unlike any online auction site you’ve ever seen. It all starts with a simple premise - put buyers and sellers together where both end up with a great price for their jewelry and other collectables. The site offers an outlet for people ready to unload their leftover “assets” from a failed relationship or a diamond ring they have not worn in years. Items for sale at any time range from diamonds, engagement rings, vintage and antique engagement rings, wedding rings to wedding dresses and collectible watches. Many items come with great stories like Aunt Rosa’s ring that transforms a generic gem into unique shopping experience. Buyers, in turn, get a great discount and the opportunity to own higher quality jewelry than they thought they could afford. During an economic recession, consumers are looking for ways to be smarter about everything they buy.

Key to I Do Now I Don’t is providing buyers and sellers with security, simplicity and superior service. A trained gemologist to assure its authenticity inspects each diamond sold on the site. The buyer’s money is released to the seller only when the diamond certification process is complete. In a world where so much is uncertain, I Do Now I Dont’s process allows everyone to buy and sell jewelry in 100% safe, secure and trusting environment.

If you are looking to buy, this is where you can get a good deal. If you are selling, this is where you will get robbed. I sold my $16,500 engagement ring on I Do Now I Don't for $6,000 on 11/4. On 11/8, I Do Now I Don't customer service said (via email) they would expedite my check. On 11/18, I was told (via email) a check was mailed out to me via regular mail. (Please note, this check would be minus a 15% commission). On 11/22, my buyer received my ring. On 11/24, I Do Now I Don't's customer service informed me via email that they were unsure if the check went out. They would get back with me the following week. To date, 11/27, I have not received payment for my ring. They took my ring and have refused to send me payment for my valuable. I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB and am working to determine what other options I have at this point legally.

I hunted around the internet looking for reviews on this place before placing my order, so for all of you looking for a review that isn't a little suspicious, here's one. Be aware that if you choose to go forward with them, their emails may get filtered to your junk mail (happened to me). Some people comment about lack of communication, and I felt the same way until checking my junk mail. They are actually very timely.

I think this website is a really good way to get a great deal if you are willing to do a little research on your own. I'm sure you could get ripped off too. I found a ring that was beautiful, but wanted to do some research to protect my investment. Here's some tips when purchasing from the site:

1. You can search a GIA certificate number online and compare to the certificate the buyer provides. I would recommend only considering the listings with certificates.

2. Compare price for an equivalent ring on Blue Nile. They are a large and fairly-priced online retailer, so they are a good comparison point.

3. Consider the impact of resizing. Not all rings can be resized easily or without compromising the rings integrity.

4. If you can find out who the original jeweler was, contact them and pretend like you want to buy a similar/the same ring. See how much they paid for it.

I went above and beyond, finding the ring on instagram (it was a custom jeweler who posts videos of each piece) and looking the seller up online.

I feel that the customer service is a little mehh. They can't answer your questions very well, but I did confirm they use a third party to confirm the details of your ring, so as long as you've done your research, it's a great way to save $$$ on a ring.

Good luck!

I was on a deadline for my proposal and needed my item within a week. Not only did I get a great deal on my ring but they came through on a strict timeline and made sure I had my ring on time. Nicer then the pics and paid probably half the price I would pay anywhere else.

Their customer service is horrible, if you ever email them then you should know what i am talking about. The owner is very arrogant and he don't care about his customer. I wish there is another platform that people can trading preown jewelry and avoid this website. NEVER EVER BUY anything from them.

They are great to buyers. Terrible to sellers. It's been two weeks since my near flawless 1.52 carat diamond ring was hand delivered to them and I still do not have payment. They claim to have mailed a check over a week ago that should habe arrived within two days from NYC to CT. They are dishonest and shady.

Wow! I mean wow!!! I purchased what I thought was 1.69 carats in diamond weight. I mean, that's what the listing said. 1 carat in the center with .69 in the halo. In addition, I was shopping and purchased a radiant cut....when I received the notification from IDNID that my ring was verified and shipped I was so excited! It only took them a week of holding it to ship it! Anyhow, much to my surprise, the ring is not 1.69 in diamond weight as the listing states and it is not a radiant cut. Yet for some reason IDNID said it was good and charged me! The ring is 1 in the center but .25 on the sides and in the halo! In addition, it's princess, not radiant! This is not what I purchased. This was not the deal and is not the guarantee! This place is out to rob. They are a NY company and know it's going to be difficult to sue them or deal with this for most people, so they do not care. Luckily for me, I'm ready for a vacation and have plenty of rewards points. So the trip will be free and I can sight see while I'm there! Thanks for not responding to my emails or phone calls! See you guys in court!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!

Just bought a great diamond for a price below the adiamor dot com price, but well above what some jewler would have paid the seller. The seller and I both walked away being thousands of dollars better off. This is a perfect private party diamond exchange. Way better than craigslist or some online auction house.

Best company to buy/sell used diamonds from, period. Super easy website search features and the diamond I purchased was exactly what they said it would be. The customer service people even went out of their way to rush my order to me so it would arrive the day before I flew out of the country!!! WOW!

The whole process made me feel very comfortable and safe. Can't say enough about this website. I will always buy/sell diamonds and jewelry with them going forward.

Most of the negative reviews I've seen are in regard to selling rings on this site. My expierence was only buying. Got a $8,000 ring for $3,300 (and that includes taxes and shipping). Add in 50 bucks to resize the ring and I got an absolute steal. They even throw in a very nice independent GAI certified appraisal (with a picture of the ring and all). Also I called their customer support line 4 times (I procrastinated) and they were awesome. If your woman doesn't mind a used ring it should be an absolute no brainer. My only complaint is it took a little over 3 weeks from the day I pushed buy and when I got the ring in my hands. I promise I'm a true customer. -Sean from ohio/north carolina-

When it comes to buying an engagement ring this is the only place you should be looking! I knew that the retail value for a diamond is completely bogus and you should never pay that. My rule when shopping at IDNID was that I wanted a 50% discount, this was my own rule not something everyone needs to obey. I'd find a diamond I liked then I’d compare it to the retail price of a diamond with the same specs on a wholesaler website. There are many jewelers on this site so a lot of the rings on there aren't really a great deal. The key is to buy from an individual, you can usually tell by the quality of the photo if it's a jeweler or just someone selling their used ring. After 2 months of searching I found the perfect diamond and made the purchase. So we purchased the ring and the hard part started (the waiting). I was a nervous wreck for 3 weeks. Some things to note. IDNID says it takes an average of 1.5-2 weeks to get your purchase, I’d expect 3 weeks. They are really bad at updating you on the status of your order BUT with that said if you email them asking for an update you’ll get a reply pretty quickly with the details. After 20 days my ring finally arrived and I’m blown away with its beauty! The ring gets appraised by a company called Accredited Gemological Institute in New York. You receive a beautiful certificate stating all the specs and the value of the ring. This is a third party company that does a proper appraisal. Being a very thorough person I took the ring for a second appraisal at a local lab. I didn’t give the lab any details about the diamond as I wanted to confirm the details were the same and they were almost exactly the same as AGI stated, color dropped from E to F but that didn't bother me. I told the gemologist how much I paid for the ring ($8000) and he said that for him to buy that diamond wholesale from a supplier it would have been $15,000! Now that everything is done and confirmed I couldn’t be happier, I’d recommend this company to everyone!!
