I Do Now I Don't featured on Good Morning America, abcnews.go.com/GMA/story

I Do Now I Don’t is unlike any online auction site you’ve ever seen. It all starts with a simple premise - put buyers and sellers together where both end up with a great price for their jewelry and other collectables. The site offers an outlet for people ready to unload their leftover “assets” from a failed relationship or a diamond ring they have not worn in years. Items for sale at any time range from diamonds, engagement rings, vintage and antique engagement rings, wedding rings to wedding dresses and collectible watches. Many items come with great stories like Aunt Rosa’s ring that transforms a generic gem into unique shopping experience. Buyers, in turn, get a great discount and the opportunity to own higher quality jewelry than they thought they could afford. During an economic recession, consumers are looking for ways to be smarter about everything they buy.

Key to I Do Now I Don’t is providing buyers and sellers with security, simplicity and superior service. A trained gemologist to assure its authenticity inspects each diamond sold on the site. The buyer’s money is released to the seller only when the diamond certification process is complete. In a world where so much is uncertain, I Do Now I Dont’s process allows everyone to buy and sell jewelry in 100% safe, secure and trusting environment.

Wow! I mean wow!!! I purchased what I thought was 1.69 carats in diamond weight. I mean, that's what the listing said. 1 carat in the center with .69 in the halo. In addition, I was shopping and purchased a radiant cut....when I received the notification from IDNID that my ring was verified and shipped I was so excited! It only took them a week of holding it to ship it! Anyhow, much to my surprise, the ring is not 1.69 in diamond weight as the listing states and it is not a radiant cut. Yet for some reason IDNID said it was good and charged me! The ring is 1 in the center but .25 on the sides and in the halo! In addition, it's princess, not radiant! This is not what I purchased. This was not the deal and is not the guarantee! This place is out to rob. They are a NY company and know it's going to be difficult to sue them or deal with this for most people, so they do not care. Luckily for me, I'm ready for a vacation and have plenty of rewards points. So the trip will be free and I can sight see while I'm there! Thanks for not responding to my emails or phone calls! See you guys in court!

I purchased a 3 caret, 12K diamond on I Do Now I Don't. After a lengthy go around with the seller who claimed the diamond was eye clean, in spite of it's quality specifications being poor, we purchased the diamond cash. I received a call a few days later from a gemologist from the site stating the diamond did not match the listing of being "eye clean" and that he did not recommend the diamond as it was in fact poor quality. I was SO relieved that the money had not been released to the seller, but was held in escrow with IDNID. After agreeing the diamond was not what we wanted, we received our 12K back in our bank account 2 days later. I couldn't be more happy with this site and their integrity. I will add however, if you are looking for large stones, this probably isn't the best place to do so. I found there are many diamond distributes on this site selling new merchandise at prices that you can find going to diamond districts or wholesalers. AND, you can physically see what you are buying. Diamonds are difficult because the rating scales for all the C's do not usually look to the naked eye the same diamond to diamond. So, it is with my experience that I say you NEED to see the diamond in person as you will be the one seeing it on your hand for the rest of your life and you don't want to make the same mistake we did. Pictures can be deceiving and so can the sellers. Thank you IDNID for your quality assurance.

My boyfriend just purchased my (soon-to-be!) engagement ring from IDoNowIDont.com. We were very nervous, not only because of buying online, but also because we were buying a ring "second-hand". We found a ring we both loved (I actually gasped when I saw it!), and contacted the seller. After a few emails back and forth, we settled on a price. He edited the listing to reflect our offer, and we purchased. The seller sent the ring to IDNID; they have a GIA trained specialist evaluate the ring to make sure it matches the listing and the certificate paperwork. (While they are evaluating it, our money was held in escrow). Once it was confirmed that the ring matched, they released the money to the seller, and sent the ring to us. I actually called IDNID, because I was checking the tracking number and it looked like it was going to be delivered on a Saturday (and I had it delivered to my work!) and I was all panicked that no one would be here to sign for it. A representative called me back almost immediately, was very pleasant, and assured me that they only deliver on weekdays. Their customer service is great.

I have not seen it in person, but my boyfriend says it looks amazing! It will have to be resized (the ring is a 7, but I am a 5.5), but that is not a big deal for the amazing deal we got.

Oh, also! I found a coupon online (I used code "EBBOX13") for a free insurance appraisal, so we got that too! The ring appraised for nearly DOUBLE what we ended up paying!! We have already recommended IDNID to several friends.

We got a ring MUCH nicer (& bigger!) than we would have been able to afford at a traditional store. I cannot wait to see it on! =)

I just made a purchase with this vendor. I found them to be honest in an unbiased way. Once I struck a deal with a seller and IDNID had the ring sent out for appraisal they contacted me and the seller with the change in color grading. I renegotiated the price with the seller after a conversation with the jeweller. We were set to go. The ring is on my hand. It is lovely and I feel I received a fair value for my dollar.

Remember you are dealing with a commodity that holds much emotional as well as monetary value to the seller, so every encounter will be different. Some are willing to negotiate far below the price posted on the website, some will not. I was surprised to see that many of the items that were posted a month ago are still posted for sale leading me to think that sellers have a number in mind for sale and stick to it leaving potential sales lost.

Overall, I feel this is a good option for someone who wants a little more diamond than they can afford in a retail setting. The value and experience turned out not to be as scary as I thought it would be. Mark, and the staff at IDNID Bravo! for making many folks dreams come true. MA

I just had a very bad experience with this company as a seller. They provided me with a direct offer range and then after taking a very uncomfortable leap of faith and mailing in my ring, they offered less than the range they originally offered. This is a BAIT and SWITCH company. DO NOT TRUST THEM!

Just received my ring a few days ago and have to say its even better then I thought. I was able to get the same Tiffany ring for around half the price it sells in Tiffany for and could not be happier with with the savings and using the money towards the wedding.

I agree with another poster on here that there are an awful lot of suspiciously similarly worded ("I couldn't be happier", "made me feel very comfortable") 5-star reviews.

My own personal experience, I listed an engagement ring on the site with photo and details of the specifics of the diamonds. I ticked the "guaranteed offer" box per the instructions. And never was contacted by anyone at the site. I even then followed up with an email to the address that was listed for people interested in getting offers. They never responded. If this is how they operate *before* they even have my ring, no thanks.

In summary. I could be happier. I do not feel comfortable.

We decided to sell a diamond engagement ring that I designed and was custom made by a jeweler in one of the largest cities in U.S. It had a large center stone with different shaped side stones (with a total ct. wt of just under 2 carats).

We had an independent top (GIA accredited) gemologist do a 9 page assessment & appraisal just before listing it on Now I Do Now I Don't and, provided well lit photos of every angle of the ring in indoor & outdoor lighting. The ring is stunningly beautiful but it was from a previous relationship, and I've been happily married to the man of my dreams for 17 years. we felt someone else should enjoy this dazzling ring instead of paying to keep it insured in our safe.

The rings' "Market Value" was close to $10,000 (this is not the "replacement/insurance amount" which is typically over priced/valued). We priced the ring at 40% of its' actual value (less than 1/2 of what it was worth) and sat and waited and never received one single inquiry on the ring on this site.

In the meantime, I listed the ring on Craigslist for 15% less than the price of the ring we were asking on the IDNID site (as that is what they charge you if you sell your ring through their site - which is very reasonable).

We NEVER received an inquiry let alone, an offer from anyone on the I Do Now I Don't site, but had lots of interest from the Craigslist ad (which was

Their customer service is horrible, if you ever email them then you should know what i am talking about. The owner is very arrogant and he don't care about his customer. I wish there is another platform that people can trading preown jewelry and avoid this website. NEVER EVER BUY anything from them.

I tried to sell my bridal ring set to I Do Now I Don't, recently.

The set is currently available on Helzberg Diamonds for $4000. Obviously, mine is a used version, but still has all its stones and setting and could be cleaned up for under $100.

I think this place is probably either a joke or scam in terms of selling. They offered me $300 and told me that the set would potentially sell on their site used for $650.

Furthermore, they got confused over my ring and did not follow through on their emails that said they would get an offer to me by a certain day. This happened multiple times, drawing out the process of even getting a quote from them.

Finally, the grammar and punctuation in their emails was atrocious and unprofessional. Ex: "Will have the offer today the email was confusing as you have it signed as [redacted] and the ring came in as [redacted]"

I will say they responded to my emails with a few hours each time.

So either the moral of the story is these guys are idiots/scammers or diamonds are the stupidest investment on the planet.

I went to a pawn shop and got a quote that was 180% of the price they offered, so ???

At the least, their website is false advertising.
