So, I was one of those brides that couldn't decide what I wanted to do for my favors. I wanted something that said "us" but something that would last. I toyed with the idea of Christmas ornaments (because our wedding was three days after Christmas), but I just couldn't find the quality for the money.

My bridesmaid suggested IKEA. I am a coffee junkie and my husband is a hot chocolate addict. We purchased 100 coffee mugs from IKEA (at .59 cents a piece, it was a deal! And those were the "expensive" ones! There were .27 cent cups!), put up two large apothecary jars (one of hot chocolate mix and one of coffee beans), and had guests choose which they would like to take home for a "cup on us." It was perfect!

I've had so many compliments - IKEA made my favors pefect! :)

I bought $4 fleece blankets and had our monogram embroidered on them for favors. We draped them over the chair backs to also double as chair covers and since it was an outdoor reception, folks also covered up when things got a bit chilly! BRILLIANT!!! People are still raving about this and my wedding planner is even suggesting this to her other brides.

I used Ikea for all of my paper plates, napkins, straws, cups and lots of the dried flowers in my arrangements. I couldnt be happier with how everything turned out!

We purchased many of our favors at IKEA. We used these little spice jars they had for 4/3.99 and large jars (4.99 each) to let our guests serve themselves various candies in our wedding colors. They offered a unique and inexpensive product. We were able to provide favors for over 100 guests for about 1.25 each, and it was much more memorable than those cheap placecard holders other places push as the best "favors".

Forget renting chairs. If you're having several events and are going to have to rent chairs for multiple days, do you really want to pay $3/day for crummy white wood folding chairs?

Ikea makes a cafe patio style chair (the folding metal frame and the wood slats like you see at Parisian cafes) that comes to their stores every January/February and starts at $25. By late April, they're down to $15. By Memorial Day Weekend, they're on closeout for $10 each!!! It's called the TARNO.

The best part is that after your wedding is done (while Ikea is not stocking them because they're an annual seasonal product), you put them on Craigslist as "Retails at Ikea for $25; used 3 times; $13 each!" Then you let people feel good when they bargain you down to $9-10.
