We went with the Intercontinental completely sight-unseen, going off of reviews and pictures. A big winner for me was the transparency in the pricing, which you can find on their website. They have a variety of packages to suit various price-points, which gave us a very clear idea of how much we were getting ourselves in for.

I have to say, we were extremely pleasantly surprised with our choice! Sandra Caruso was our main contact, and she is as professional as they come. We had a lot of email exchanges (I had a LOT of questions), and we spoke over the phone every few months leading up to the event to ensure we were on the same page. Once we arrived at the hotel for our wedding, she took us to breakfast a few days before to go over last-minute items, and to make us feel comfortable I think. She's really wonderful, and we were so, so pleased with her work and that of her assistant the night of our wedding (Marie-Sophie).

The photos simply do not do the Salon Sarah-Bernhardt justice. It has a beautiful Gatsby vibe to it without being flashy. The are of the hotel where the meeting rooms are has a beautiful foyer/hallway on the first floor. We loved that we essentially had the whole second floor to ourselves the night of the wedding. Sandra and Marie-Sophie were always around, making sure things were going well and on time. They communicated exceptionally well with the DJ, so all of the key players were on the same page. I had a vision for the tables, and they executed it beautifully.

I would absolutely recommend the Intercontinental to anyone looking for a hotel venue. The room was beautiful, the set-up was perfect for our size (around 75 guests), and the food, by the way, was AWESOME. Definitely the best food we've ever had at a wedding. We had the monkfish, veal, and quail with truffle. WOW. Delicious, well-plated, well-cooked (the veal was soft and juicy, not over-cooked at all), the quail and truffle was spectacular as was the monkfish!!

We chose hotel intercontinental for its location and decor and we are happy with our decision.
We knew that we could get a better deal further from the city but we fell in love with the hotel so we knew what we were getting into.
Plus the wedding coordinator at the hotel seemed really sweet and professional.
I have got to say that she stayed professional throughout the planning but we both felt that she tried to impose limitations wherever she could!
Every little detail would cost extra (per person!)
Some things worth noting:
-The wedding cake was included in the package price and was very satisfactory! It probably wasn't the best possible wedding cake you could get but we found they did a good job!
-The suite at the hotel (included in the wedding package for the night of the wedding) is amazing! The only problem was I had my hairdresser coming there to do my hair and the hotel would not guarantee an early check in! The official check in time is 3pm! So 2 days before the wedding we were forced to pay for the extra night just so we'd be sure to have our room in the morning! I have to say though that they gave us the same suite for our preferential price which was at least 1/2 their advertised cost-so in the end it was a good deal!
-The tasting (usually scheduled a few months before the wedding date) was amazing! Very professional and lot's of fun!
-Be careful with rentals (linens, chairs, dishes, etc). The hotel would not place anything that came from outside! We had to pay extra for the chairs to be placed! On a side note, the chair covers from the hotel are $7.50+tax+service!!!
-If having reception outside (in la ruelle) the rentals (chairs, decorations, etc) need to be picked up right after the event is over! They cannot keep it till the next morning!
-Overall the food was good and enough!

Overall we are very pleased with our choice of the reception venue and would recommend it.
