Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
With 13 years of experience in over 700 events, I've shot in all types of lighting situations from natural light to various interior lighting schemes and extreme low light.
Is your media preference film or digital?
I shoot exclusively in digital. This allows me to take as many photos and poses as I want and to deliver them all to you in digital form, which allows for hundreds of possibilities from albums to prints to almost anything you can think of to display your photos, including posting on Facebook.
How many photographers do you work with?
Iris Media Group has one primary photographer, Ryan, in addition to myself. Both of us are included in samples on our website and our Wedding Wire page.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
We cannot guarantee a specific photographer. But we can guarantee you quality and experience.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
As Iris offers full day coverage, one photographer would not be double booked in the same day. They could have more than one event in a weekend, but never more than two days in a row.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes, the benefit of having multiple photographers is that we can be backup for each other in case of an emergency. In addition to myself and Ryan who typically are sent out on shoots, we have other experienced colleagues that we work with that will step in during emergencies if needed.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Each photographer will have two state of the art digital SLR camera bodies, along with a variety of professional lenses, from wide angle to fixed to telephoto. They will also carry at least one high quality flash with diffuser for use in a variety of lighting situations.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
We have two cameras and a variety of lenses so that if the primary camera or any of the lenses malfunction, we have a backup.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Iris provides full day coverage to capture all the important events on your day without worrying about hours.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
Photographers will take short breaks as needed, but have no set break times, and will only leave in between events. Typically, a meal is required to be served at the same time as your other guests. It is requested that the photographer(s) get to eat first so that they can eat quickly and prepare for the next events on your day.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel fees may apply outside Orange or LA Counties.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Digital online proofing is available approximately 4-6 weeks after the wedding day.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
The digital proofs are offered in an online gallery where you can review your photos, order prints, and share with family and friends.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
The online gallery will remain up for at least a year.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
We retain the rights to the photos, but you may use them for any personal, non-profit use, including printing. We can provide this permission in writing if you would like, and it is also stated in our contract.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes, all digital files are given to you on USB drive. This includes all the edited photos, as well as every other photo taken on the day.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes, all edited photos are posted in an online gallery where you can review your photos, order prints, and share with family and friends.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer several album types, including flush mount and matted albums. Please contact us or see our website for more details.
When will the client get the final album?
The album will be sent to you via an online proofing system approximately 8-10 weeks after your wedding where you can review each page and request changes.

We have several completed weddings you can look at when you come to our office. Additionally, you can view complete highlight videos on our website.
Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
Yes, we do carry adjustable lights that can be mounted on our cameras (similar to a flash) to capture dimly lit events. The lights are adjustable so we don't blind your guests and only use as much light as needed.

Do you give access to your raw footage?
Our DVDs include all of the important footage from your wedding day. The footage not included in the highlight video in its entirety will be broken up throughout the DVD in the "Special Features" section. There you can watch the full version of the ceremony, additional reception footage, toasts, interviews, and anything else that was not included in the Highlight Video. The only things cut out are wild camera movements, setting shots, and duplicate footage.
Do you reserve the right to use the video in the future for deals, contents, etc.?
We retain the rights to the video, but you may use your video for any personal nonprofit use.
Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing?
The most important influence you have on your final wedding video is your music selections. The music sets the tone for the editor and helps communicate your style. Additionally, any comments or suggestions you have for your video can be communicated beforehand.
How long does it take for the client to get the final video?
The video will be completed approximately 8-10 weeks after the wedding day if music selections and all other editing information is completed by client by the wedding day.
