CONS: 1) The confusing and poorly formatted contract (Side note: You have to initial every tiny thing in the contract. It’s very stressful, and with every run back to the office to print a new thing to initial, it felt at times that it was more important for the company to "CYA" than to work with me)
2) The product. Prior to my wedding, J&R arranged a “trial” appointment for me to see the centerpieces. When they brought it out, I was speechless…and not in a good way. My "loose and airy" blue and green hydrangeas with greenery were tightly compacted and some flowers were actually spray painted neon blue (think a giant neon blue and green ice cream scoop). Though they did fix the arrangement a bit, I was worried that J&R wouldn't be able to re-create the picture of the bridal bouquet I desired (despite Patty identifying every single flower in the bouquet and saying they could copy it). I ended up ordering a "just in case - dummy" bouquet from Main Street Nursery (which was an EXACT copy of the picture. I ended up using the "dummy" on my wedding day, because the bridal bouquet from J&R was a laughable and deranged nightmare - I wish I could attach pictures of the two bouquets against the original picture). Most of the groomsmen boutonnières were DOA. One actually completely disintegrated when it was put on (luckily there was an extra in the box). My grandmas’ wrist corsages (white roses) were dead. The roses were beyond brown (one grandma refused to wear hers). The throw away bouquet was an unattractive cluster of dead white roses (I actually threw it away). It was all very disappointing. In the end, the "dummy" bouquet saved me from many tears that day.
*REVISED REVIEW: just got professional photos back...my Main Street bouquet is gorgeous. All other J&R flowers look AWFUL!!!! Groom and best man's boutonnière are actually dead and wilted even at altar. My regret having booked J&R is immortalized in my pictures. DO NOT BOOK!!!

First off let me just tell you if you want to save money, Jack and Rose is the place to go. However, their professionalism is lacking. I went with them because it was a last minute change of plans with my original florist. At my consultation appointment, we met with Jack. He was really nice and kept bragging about being in business etc etc. When it came down to price, he made it seem like it was a one day offer type deal. We made a deal with them because A: the price was within our ridiculously low budget by the time we booked them(3 weeks before our wedding) B: They seemed like they were recommended since we've seen them at a few bridal shows. After signing the contract, it's unorganized with multiple type font but READ THE FINE PRINT! literally read EVERY WORD printed! which is exactly what i did and they attached a sample picture of the images of the pieces we wanted. Done, everything seemed great. Whew flowers booked right? wrong!

When we went back to see what our actual flowers would look like this was where the truth came out. First, the person who greeted us was a woman named Patty. She seemed polite and said she'd be helping us. She showed us the first sample which was already ready when we walked in. Jack suddenly came out from his office literally pretended like he didn't see us. He took out a camera and took a picture of the tree and left. When they brought out the next centerpiece i felt the arrangement was scarce and asked if it could be fuller. Patty kept pushing that it could be done with a price. I made a few suggestions about how to arrange the flowers and then she said it would be additional because we were contracted for a certain number of flowers per centerpiece. Jack heard me get upset and came out not to talk to us but to whisper to Patty about what i was trying to say. It got to the point where we wanted to drop them. They finally followed my instructions and changed it to what i wanted.

I was so displeased with Jack and Rose. I booked them over the phone with Jack himself as I am from Georgia. He was super nice and gave me a discount for booking from Wedding wire. This all changed once I sent the $500 checkk and recived the contract. The contract was so hard to read and jumbled all ovr the page in blocks/spurts. The contract did not include some of the "free items" that we agreed on Jack with. We finally went to NY and met with them and Patty was very nice and got some of it worked out. As soon as I left she emails stating that she had the wrong amount of bridesmaids. (due the the contract being so jumbled we did not realize) Two weeks before the wedding a tentative appointment was set by Patty. We missunderstood the appointment and instead of calling to remind or even calling that we missed it, we recived a nasty email from Jack. As soon as we knew we missed it we went into the store. JACK WAS SO RUDE, and all but cursed us out. I could tell even Patty was embarrased. The day of the wedding the bridal boquet and bridesmaids looked pretty from far away but were very wilted. The reception flowers came and the were the wrong color. As we saw the reception i noticed the flowers, the Jack and Rose representive dropping them off just kept asking me to sign and write that I was happy with them. I refused several times and it finally escallated the the point where the Bridal Attendnt kicked him out. This was the only thing at the wedding that went wrong. After the last appointment, I cant help but feel Jack did it on purpose.

Jack and Rose Florists was my most difficult vendor. They were extremely nice and accommodating at our 1st meeting but once we signed that contract and were committed everything changed. Their "contract" is horrible. Its such a jumbled mess with all sorts of extraneous clauses in there that its very hard to understand what will and will not be included in the price you are paying. They promised a lot but left it out of the contract. When asked about it they were very difficult and made it seem like they were doing us a favor. We're paying for this service! They were very unprofessional and condescending at times. We often felt rushed out of the door and got an overall shady feeling from them. They're demeanor when prospective clients were in earshot verses no one being around was like two polar opposites. I was honestly shocked to find out that they showed up and completed our order. For the amount of headache involved I would strongly recommend AGAINST booking with Jack and Rose!

They did my wedding back in 2008. We traveled all the way out to their office and they sure know how to sell their stuff. The price looks nice until you read the ENTIRE CONTRACT. They tacked on $1000 more at my last payment. They have a very old school style of designing flowers and nothing close to what's in style now. When I decided to change my mind, they had a fit and the girl was very nasty to me. She wouldn't even budge when it came to working something out. The pictures I brought as samples of what I wanted is what I thought I was being charged for but the MESSY LAYOUT of the CONTRACT said otherwise.

So I changed my mind and wanted something else and they were trying to charge me thousands more. However, I went down to the flower district in Manhattan and bought my martini flower stands for $20 and they were charging my $90. I ended up with small white roses. My girls bouquets were horrible mine came in a mint green like the flowers weren't ready yet and they were very heavy.

They said they would arrange 2 big and beautiful arrangements for the alter and I kid you not...they looked like they were recycled from a funeral....

I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN AND DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE NICE TALK.

The flowers were beautiful, BUT my centerpieces were NOT the color I ordered, not even close. I have proof, the contract, the picture of the centerpieces and my friends asking me if I changed my mind on the color last minute!

Of all the vendors I dealt with for our wedding, Jack was the worst I experienced. THE CONTRACT THEY MAKE YOU SIGN IS RIDICULOUS... ABSOLUTELY INSANE. I don't remember having to sign or initial so many times on 3 pieces of paper, other than at a closing for a house! I felt like I was signing my life away, and all I was doing was ordering flowers!

Although the flowers were nice, the centerpieces were not the color I ordered (even though they make you initial 100 times on their contract to confirm your order!) I would never do business with them again or recommend them.

I had a great wedding, but this was the most and only disappointing vendor out of all of our vendors. I expected much more from this company because my family had used them several years ago for other functions. The quality of service and product has since gone down hill. While the bouquets were quite nice and exactly what I was looking for the centerpieces were sloppy looking and wilting by the end of the night. Also, after confirming the time for the room setup multiple times, they showed up an hour late! I will not be using them for any future events and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I was very disappointed with the flowers for my wedding. My bouquet fell apart, my father's flower and my husband's flowers were WRONG! Instead of decorating my cake, they placed a styrofoam display on top of the cake that kept falling off. THe ceterpieces were flimsy. They were not accomodating nor considerate in scheduling appointments. I was quoted a price that doubled by the time we were done and I was not happy with my flowers at all!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FLORIST TO ANYONE!!!!

Well, I have to say I HATED Jack & Rose! If not for Jack's assistant Patty he would probably be out of business! He was the most obnoxious and arrogant man I've ever done business with. If my initial meeting would have been with him, I never would have used them!

I met with Patty originally and thought she was great. I signed my contract and left my deposit. A week or two later I received a ridiculous contract that was about 12 pages long. It was the most confusing thing I've ever seen. It had bold type, things were underlined, highlighted, it was like a circus on paper!

My next meeting was with Patty, she called me the day of our meeting to cancel. I was very understanding and re-scheduled. The day of my second meeting Patty was busy and told me I would be meeting with Jack. This was my "Design Session", in which he really had nothing to offer. He showed me pictures in books. Everything I liked and pointed out, he said, "Oh that's probably 50 -75 flowers. Your contract has 36 flowers." When I expressed to him that I thought his contract was confusing, he nearly jumped out of his seat, saying, "The program for that contract cost me a lot of money. No one has ever said that before. It is clear and shows you exactly what you are getting!" After that he felt the need to be a wise a*$, saying things like, "I hope this isn't confusing you." When I gave him the mapquest directions to the church, he said, "All of this stuff on this paper is confusing me, what is the address?" I could go on and on.

My caterer got involved and rather then lose the $1500 they already had of my money, I just dealt with Patty. She was a great buffer and really tried to calm me down. She returned my calls immediately. If I had to rate Patty, she would get 5 stars all across the board. I have to be honest, she is great and my flowers were beautiful. However, this rating is for her employer, I would not recommend Jack & Rose.

I only used Jack and Rose since my banquet manager at Crest Hollow Country Club recommended them for me.
We dealt with Patty for all my flowers, and she constantly talked down to us. At one point she left us in their dingy, dark, outdated, poor excuse of a showroom while she typed up our "contract." Fourty five minutes pass, and we go look at what was going on in their office. She was sitting their eating her lunch and just chatting with someone on the phone while she left us just sitting there!!
At the next design session, where I was to pick out flowers based on fresh ones, all she had to show me was a purple rose (which looked more like pink) an ugly white filler flower, and a white hydrangea. I asked her if there are any other flowers to look at, and she just gave me a blank look. So, I was forced to make do with what little selection they could provide.
After researching flowers online, I saw that hydrangea came in purple, which was not told to me during the meeting. I called Patty and she told me that they cannot order them in purple, but can spray paint them purple.
So many things went wrong with them that by the time it got to the day of my wedding I was nervous of the final product. That day gave me the most stress. Patty specifically told me that the $400 in delivery (which Jack and Rose was around the corner from Crest Hollow) was because she would be there all day to set up and fix anything if it went wrong. I NEVER saw anyone from Jack and Rose once during my wedding! My all white rose bouquet was wilting, some were turning brown, and then all of the petals started coming off. Jack & Rose needed to be called at their office to find them to replace my bouquet. I then had to take the rest of my pictures without my bouquet.
Lastly, the contract stated I was to receive glass dishes for the centerpieces. They LIED- they were cheap dark green plastic dishes which ruined the look of them. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!

Read less
