Jack & Rose is a floral design studio specializing in events of all sizes, from small and intimate family affairs, to large-scale weddings and corporate events. Headquartered in Long Island, NY, we have extensive experience working with all types of venues in the NY and tri-state area.

Jack & Rose was founded in Manhattan in 1948 by a young couple with a love of flowers-- named Jack and Rose. Evolving from an original focus in retail, the company opened its first design showroom in Fresh Meadows, Queens in 1948 and grew to become one of the leading floral design and special occasion production studios in New York today.

Avoid this place at all costs! They will tell you all of the reviews on yelp aren't from real people with real experiences but here I am writing this because I Also went through it. I should have realized when the first thing Jack said to me was to ignore all the yelp reviews and even had books of pages printed out with good reviews when you first walk in to the old place. A successful company doesn't need to try so hard to convince you that they "won't let you down" My review is REAL! To start off, these people don't ever answer there phone! The first sign of how unprofessional they are! The first time I called I left a message and was told THROUGH TEXT that they weren't in because of a "huge" event. I booked my appointment through a txt with jack and didn't think much of it. I met with jack and gave a $1,000 deposit because the prices seemed reasonable, I went home and a few months later(I booked very early before my wedding) something told me to do some more research on this place because the price was too good to be true and jacks comment about yelp stood on my mind. I come on to yelp and to my surprise 2 stars, I tried to ignore it and think of reasons as to why some of these things stated in the reviews occurred. A few weeks went by and I called to make an appointment for my center piece design as stated on the long unorganized contract they have (another sign of an unprofessional business) no one answered, I yet again received an automated txt stating that they were at another event but this time in Europe and that they wouldn't be around all weekend. This got me upset! The txt messages need to Stop!! I asked If i could speak to a real human and was responded back through TEXT saying they won't be in and I can't speak to anyone. The weekend went by and no one called me back, so I called again and decided I no longer wanted to have my centerpieces made because how can I trust them come the day of my wedding??? Beware-once we paid off our deposit (way before the wedding) it was hard to get someone to answer our calls and questions-they have a tight schedule for appointments due to their weekend events.

We received our bouquets at the wedding venue and the bouquets were beautiful but the person who dropped off the flowers was horrible. Our centerpieces were supposed to be surrounded by flower petals but there were barely any petals on the table. We have pictures of what we were promised and what was actually put on the table. When we complained the delivery man, he came back into my bridal suite and all but threatened me. I was shaken up and forced to tip him to go away. He told my husband that he had more petals for the tables but they would not match. Why would we want mismatched flower petals on our tables?

When we got back from our honeymoon, we left several voicemails to have someone follow up with us about our disappointing and horrible experience. One time Patty actually picked up and said she would call back but never did. Thanks for messing up our wedding table centerpieces, taking our money and not doing the job correctly, sending that unprofessional probably inebriated person to our wedding venue, and never getting back to us. Well, I have to say I HATED Jack & Rose! If not for Jack's assistant Patty he would probably be out of business! He was the most obnoxious and arrogant man I've ever done business with. If my initial meeting would have been with him, I never would have used them!

I met with Patty originally and thought she was great. I signed my contract and left my deposit. A week or two later I received a ridiculous contract that was about 12 pages long. It was the most confusing thing I've ever seen. It had bold type, things were underlined, highlighted, it was like a circus on paper!

My next meeting was with Patty, she called me the day of our meeting to cancel. I was very understanding and re-scheduled. The day of my second meeting Patty was busy and told me I would be meeting with Jack. This was my "Design Session", in which he really had nothing to offer. He showed me pictures in books. Everything I liked and pointed out, he said, "Oh that's probably 50 -75 flowers. Your contract has 36 flowers." When I expressed to him that I thought his contract was confusing, he nearly jumped out of his seat, saying, "The program for that contract cost me a lot of money. No one has ever said that before. It is clear and shows you exactly what you are getting!" After that he felt the need to be a wise a*$, saying things like, "I hope this isn't confusing you." When I gave him the mapquest directions to the church, he said, "All of this stuff on this paper is confusing me, what is the address?" I could go on and on.

My caterer got involved and rather then lose the $1500 they already had of my money, I just dealt with Patty. She was a great buffer and really tried to calm me down. She returned my calls immediately. If I had to rate Patty, she would get 5 stars all across the board. I have to be honest, she is great and my flowers were beautiful. However, this rating is for her employer, I would not recommend Jack & Rose.

I only used Jack and Rose since my banquet manager at Crest Hollow Country Club recommended them for me.
We dealt with Patty for all my flowers, and she constantly talked down to us. At one point she left us in their dingy, dark, outdated, poor excuse of a showroom while she typed up our "contract." Fourty five minutes pass, and we go look at what was going on in their office. She was sitting their eating her lunch and just chatting with someone on the phone while she left us just sitting there!!
At the next design session, where I was to pick out flowers based on fresh ones, all she had to show me was a purple rose (which looked more like pink) an ugly white filler flower, and a white hydrangea. I asked her if there are any other flowers to look at, and she just gave me a blank look. So, I was forced to make do with what little selection they could provide.
After researching flowers online, I saw that hydrangea came in purple, which was not told to me during the meeting. I called Patty and she told me that they cannot order them in purple, but can spray paint them purple.
So many things went wrong with them that by the time it got to the day of my wedding I was nervous of the final product. That day gave me the most stress. Patty specifically told me that the $400 in delivery (which Jack and Rose was around the corner from Crest Hollow) was because she would be there all day to set up and fix anything if it went wrong. I NEVER saw anyone from Jack and Rose once during my wedding! My all white rose bouquet was wilting, some were turning brown, and then all of the petals started coming off. Jack & Rose needed to be called at their office to find them to replace my bouquet. I then had to take the rest of my pictures without my bouquet.
Lastly, the contract stated I was to receive glass dishes for the centerpieces. They LIED- they were cheap dark green plastic dishes which ruined the look of them. DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE!
