Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
What do your packages include?
Albums, Custom Graphic Design, Digital Files, High Resolution Images, Prints, Proof CD of All Images, Thank You Cards
Do you have liability insurance?
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
I post-process all of my images myself in my studio. With a background in graphic design, I employ multiple techniques to enhance your images and make them stand out. Saturated, rich colors; and deep, warm black and whites are my trademark.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
As a wedding photographer, I am able to shoot anywhere the situation calls for - bright light, low light, indoors, outdoors, with flash, without flash, anytime, anywhere.
Is your media preference film or digital?
I shoot 100% digital.
How many photographers do you work with?
I always recommend adding on my associate photographer for the best coverage, especially if your wedding guest list is over 100 people.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I photograph only one wedding per weekend. I accept a small number of weddings each year so that each of my clients are treated as friends, rather than just being a number.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I have a large number of photographers that I connect with on a regular basis. The community that we belong to has a large list of emergency shooters ready to go at a moments notice. I gladly accept emergency assignments from my fellow photographers, and they do the same for me.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Everything and anything I might need. Multiple camera bodies, strobes (flashes), and many different kinds of lenses: wide-angle, fish-eye, macro, telephoto, zoom. You name it, I've got it.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
I have back cameras, lenses, strobes - everything. And even if that malfunctions, I keep a back-up to my back-up in the car - you can never be too prepared!
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Hourly, with seven hours usually being the minimum, but I have photographed intimate ceremonies for only a few hours.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
It is not unusual for a wedding to run late, so overtime is available for an additional charge on the day of the wedding.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
If myself or my associate photographer needs to run to the bathroom, the other photographer will cover for them. To keep your photographer from passing out after a 10-hour workday, it is also recommended that you feed us. We gobble down a quick bite of food while the bride and groom are enjoying their meal.
Do you charge for travel?
Only for events happening 50 or more miles from my studio.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Whatever you like! Proof books, printed proofs, online proofing - it's up to you!
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Forever - they are yours to keep. And I don't stamp my logo across proofs either. Printed proofs are unmarked and they are all yours.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
They are available in each wedding package I offer.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Password-protected online proofing and ordering is offered in each package.
What kind of albums do you offer?
Beautiful custom-designed flush mount albums are available in any number of sizes and materials. They are STUNNING!!!
When will the client get the final album?
Your album will be in your hands six to eight weeks after your album design is approved by you.
