We wanted a reception that would allow alcohol but was large enough to have tables and a dance floor. Everywhere else in the area required if there was alcohol, even just champagne, that we would have to hire a security guard or licensed bartender. And we also had to order our food from whoever they had a contract with. Most of the places charged by the hour or their set price was ridiculous and we were on a budget! I found the Knights of Columbus hall. It is NOT fancy by any means! but it was huge! we were able to put 10 round tables (they held about 10 ppl each) around the dance floor and three long table for food, our cakes and punch. and we STILL had a HUGE dance floor. There is also a kitchen with 2 commercial size stoves and a refrigerator. We were able to bring our own food in, (they also said they could cook for us, pretty much anything...bbq, tacos, spaghetti, whatever we had in mind.. for a pretty cheap price) we were also able to bring any alcohol we wanted in without a security guard or bartender, there was also plenty of room for a DJ.. and the venue supplied all the tables and chairs. They let us come the day before and decorate and set everything up and turn on the AC ( it was 110 degrees when we got married!) for no extra charge... which noone else around here will do! They were very easy to work with and it was a fun time and plenty big! they only charged us $500...and every other venue wanted $1000 or more, without all the extras we got. Read less
