General comments: Stephanie was the person with whom I corresponded. She no longer works there, as I was surprised to hear during a phone call when I asked for her.

The trick with communicating with Loveliness is to catch them when they're not so busy. When there's a line, their professionalism falters.

Gown & tux rental: I loved my gown. Loveliness has a lot of gowns to choose from, and definitely has the best selection based on similar shops. The best thing was I did not have to worry about getting it dirty or having kids step on it! My husband said that his tuxedo pants were on the tight side but did not cut off his circulation. We were very happy with the quality and vest/tie color choices.

Carol, the hair & makeup artist: Carol was great! I brought her updo images and she put my hair up in two styles to choose from. Same went for makeup, with two styles on either side of my face. A slight inconvenience is the yellow lighting in the makeup room for indoor photography is completely different from natural lighting for the wedding day! But Carol knew what she was doing, considered both my mom's and my comments, and gave us a look we were happy with. The day of the wedding, Carol was rushing in from an earlier gig. Unfortunately, she did not bring her notebook with her and had to ask me for my color choices, which I almost forgot since I was pretty frazzled that day and by being asked that. So what if my eyebrows were lined black instead of dark brown. I really didn't care. My updo turned out so much more beautiful than the trial. And Carol was back to her usual self after she calmed down and was in her zone. She even changed the veil from the one we chose during the trial because she found a hole in it, something that I did not notice. She also had a lot of hair accessories to choose from.

Judy, the store owner: Judy speaks accentless English, which is great. She refers to herself as Mama, which I was uncomfortable with. She was too businesswoman-like for my taste. The staff seemed aloof and unhelpful during my first two visits. (I was not advised to make an appointment as the first staffmember, who also seemed to have disappeared, welcomed walk-in's, but found out that's a major no-no. So call ahead and make your appointment, and everyone's happy.) After I showed them my plastic they were quite helpful. Go figure.

The one thing I was annoyed with was the fact that we made an appointment to try on the tux. There was a mix-up with another customer's orders and both tuxes were delayed 1 day in delivery. Fine. I was told we could come in any time in the afternoon. We did, to which we were met with a whole wedding party before us. We waited probably an hour before it was our turn, which was one tux that we considered just having my husband strip and slip on right there. It's hard to make a bride wait during the week of her wedding. I should've made another appointment.

BUT, my gown was beautiful. I loved my hair and makeup. My groom looked dashing. It was a great day! Having the location close to home was a major plus.

Loveliness provided the photography, videography, and dress and tux rentals for our wedding. They had a great selection of dresses for my wife to choose from. They were extremely reasonable, flexible, and easy to work with.
Ricky, our photographer, drove all the way down to Carlsbad from San Francisco with his team of photographers/videographers the day before our wedding. Our wedding happen to be on his wife's birthday, but both him and his wife generously offered their services because we really wanted Ricky to be our photographer.
They were professional (ie. had uniforms), courteous, and really helped make our day special!!
Ricky is truly passionate about his work and after seeing the proofs, I would say we had made the best decision in choosing Loveliness as our provider of wedding services. For anyone who is looking for a vendor that can provide all your photography, videography, and rental needs... Loveliness is the place!

i have to say, i only bought my dress here. i was adamant that i didn't end up spending a bundle on my dress. i came here on a fluke, because i had tried on a dress literally 8 sizes too big, and loveliness had it in a smaller size so i could get a more realistic feeling for how it looked. the woman helping me asked what other dresses i was looking at. long story short, i was debating between two dresses, they ended up having both, one had just been taken out of the box as a floor model, never tried on by anyone. i put it on, it fit like a glove, it looked beautiful. i walked out that day with a dress at a discount because it was a floor model (even though it had never been put on--i inspected the dress, there were none of the tell-tale signs that it had). that made my experience VERY pleasant.

For those brides and grooms to be, I'm glad you're taking time to do your homework by checking reviews on loveliness (even other businesses.) *** For more reviews (mostly bad ones that you'll find,) please visit Yelp, CitySearch, Yahoo business reviews, Chopstick Brides, RateItAll, and whatever ones you can find. Apparently, loveliness does not have enough experienced workers to handle the volumn of work they have. All they keep focussing on is bringing in more and more business. Please, don't believe them when they keep calling themselves "professionals". Once they have completed their shooting services and collected at least 80% of your money (they have already made their profit by now) they shift their attention from you to new customers. Worst yet, they try to collect the remaining balance when they show you the proofs (these are wallet-size photos in a binder from which you cannot get reprints. One of their major concerns is that we get reprints from whatever they email us. They want us to use them again for more reprints.) This is the best deal for them because they already have all of your money, but you are left with just the untouched-up proofs. This is only the beginning of a long and ugly battle between you and them. With zero balance left, they have no more incentive to do work in a timely manner or correctly for you. They expect you to make the minimum changes and accept whatever they provide you. Before you know it, months will pass by and you will not hear anything from them (phone calls or email.) If you try contacting them, talking to most of them is useless because most of the employees there have zero authority to do anything unless you get a hold of the dishonest owner, shirley. By the way, most of the workers barely speak and understand English. She claimed to have retired, but we all know that is a BIG lie! She is still the official registered owner for this business. (How is it possible that they think they can keep people's hard-earned money and stop/delay services like this?!) The son, who claims to be the "owner" now is never reacheable because he is always out shooting. Even if you succeed in reaching him he will be as obnoxious and unreasonable as he can. Whatever his mother said/promised you means nothing anymore, so he basically creates his own store policies. What a hopeless family!

They are now expanding their services to planning people's wedding. If they can't even handle the simple tasks of finishing and delivering people's albums and other products that offer, how is it possible that they know how to plan weddings?! What a JOKE!! These thieves (loveliness/LOWliness/LAZINESS) are not expert in ANYTHING exept for LYING and ROBBING people's money. Thus far, I haven't seen them doing anything right and well. They are extremely good and prompt when collecting your money. They prey on the fact that after a while most couples would just give up fighting them because it's too draining. This way, loveliness wins because they keep your thousands of dollars and merely deliver the minimum (crappy final products that are full of mistakes.) If you try to get them to fix their own mistakes they will put you in the back burner and deal with new customers instead. Also, the son will tell you that you're lucky because he's not charging you for them to fix their own mistakes. If this is not the most ABSURD thing anyone has heard, then I can't imagine what is. One of the reviewers is so right about categorizing ricky as RETARDED, since this is not what a normal person would say. This entire loveliness family has absolutely no sense of morality, character, integrity, etc. Another reviewer says how animals have more dignity and pride and these losers do. You can tell by how their children have turned out (lie, cheat, robb, etc.) as the parents have infused in them.

They are so low to treat their customers the way they do. Weddings should be one of the best things that happen to a couple. Having to fight with them to get the things you've paid for brings a lot of bad memories to a supposedly happy event. Why should couples have to go through this?! Some couples already have 2 children and they still haven't received their wedding or engagement album. In my case, it's been over 17 months. The sad thing is we don't even know when we'll get anything from that lowliness, yes it's LOWliness! So, please if you don't want to have the same bad experience as many couples have you should go elsewhere. It's not as if loveliness is that inexpensive. They're up there in terms of prices. You'll find that you've paid a premium yet totally unsatisfied with their services. Be careful because they will treat you really well at the beginning. Once you're trapped (put down a 1/3 deposit) you've become one of their victims and potential enemies. Please, please take these reviews to heart. I don't know what else to say to help discourage you from stepping into loveliness=HELL.

I chose them because they had a better wedding gown selection than anyone else. The rental for the engagement photos as well as the rental for the wedding (my dress + rental for the groom and all groomsmen) worked out pretty well. However, I had to go back over and over again for my engagement photos. When I first wanted to see the proofs, they delayed it two weeks. When I tried to get my touched up photos on a CD, they delayed it for a whole year! First, they kept giving me a CD with untouched photos. I went back many times (even though it's an hour away from where I live!) but they kept giving me the same dang photos! Did I say that it was a delay of a whole year?! Well, that would mean that I actually got those photos, but I didn't. Finally, I gave up. So I took that f*cking CD because I just couldn't take it anymore. It had been nine months since the actually wedding. I'm just glad that I didn't hire them to take my wedding photos, too. :P

Loveliness is a one stop wedding shop. They have everything for a dream come true. I particularly was looking at the photography and their creativeness. They have many outdoors shots that were just extremely amazing. My fiancee was looking for a wedding dress and she was able to get fitted for many different styles. Extremely inexpensive and a very large variety to choose from.

They have many outdoors shots that were just extremely amazing. My fiancee was looking for a wedding dress and she was able to get fitted for many different styles. Extremely inexpensive and a very large variety to choose from. Read less
