My husband proposed with a precious family heirloom ring on a backpacking trip for our five year dating anniversary. The ring was half a size too small, so it went on but didn't keep my blood flowing. We took it in to Maloney's Jewelry for a resizing. He noticed the prongs were worn and offered his services to fix them. Although he was friendly and seemed honest, we were a little hesitant, because we all know businesses sometimes make you do more than you need. Because my husband and I aren't experts as far as rings go, he explained and showed us what the prongs should look like and focused our attention on the difference. After our visit, I did some research on my own and discovered just how close the stone was to falling out (very!). With the resizing and fixing all the prongs, we paid $80 ($15 per prong and $20 for resizing). We were very pleased with his service, and he handed us a beautifully polished ring that will last another lifetime.
